This is not a Moe's chain but run by Pilot; therefore, they don't run normal specials like kids eat free on Sundays, they were out of ground beef and cookies for the kids meals, but made sure to tell me I could pay extra for a brownie instead of the cookie that is supposed to come with the meal we paid for. It's odd to be doing a review of a burrito chain in a highway truck stop, but here we are. This Moe's is one of the best places to get actually filling, real food on the I-79 stretch between Charleston and Morgantown. It also has great options for vegetarians and vegans, which is usually impossible at other roadside eateries. They have definitely been hit by quite a few supply chain shortages, as the last few times I have been in, they are out of items such as rice or to go bowls. Overall though, the food and service are good and this is now part of our usual rotation when we do this drive. The restaurant doesn't have restrooms, so you need to walk next door (via a shared door) to the Pilot Travel Center. The Pilot has nice, clean bathrooms and the usual selection of convenience store drinks, snacks, etc. And for those with a sweet tooth, they have a Cinnabon kiosk. read more

They somehow gave me the complete wrong order when nobody was in front of me and I didn't notice until long after I left. Also, they are heating up queso and other foods in plastic wrap meaning dangerous amounts of bpa will leach into your food. I never review fast food restaurants. Let's be honest, 50% of the time there is going to be something to complain about. TRAVELERS: Avoid this place unless you want to add on an extra 40 mins to your travels. This Moe's restaurant needs a FAT reality check. The staff is so incompetent, clueless and rude. I was behind two people and I stood in line for over 20 minutes just waiting to order. Finally another employee who knew what they were doing came out to help. She wasn't friendly and didn't make anyone feel welcome. I ordered a burrito bowl and a stack. Bowl was done quickly but they didn't have all the toppings and were not making anymore? I went to pay for the food and the boy working the register wasn't listening to anything I said. I asked about salsa because of COVID-19 I wasn't sure where it would be. He looked at me like I had a 3 eye?? Enough said about the salsa. Still waiting for the stack and I finally had to ask because it was on the brink of burning. Get all my food with no chips. I had to request chips, fine whatever. These chips were simply tragic. So much grease they were soggy and you could basically see through them. They tasted old and terrible. As long as the grumpy, stingy manager is not working the line, Moe's in Flatwoods WV is ok. Wow--she has a very sour look on her face as she carefully doles out the bare minimum of beans or vegetables or cilantro or meat or whatever. Never makes eye contact doesn't talk--just grunts. We went to Moe's between lunch and dinner. The gas station was not busy, at least it did not seem to be; however, the line was soooo incredibly long, almost out the door. It took quite some time to get through the line and get our food. The staff was busy making food so the tables were not cleaned. They definitely could have used some extra people working. The food was mediocre. I have frequented Moe's and it was not nearly as fresh and good as other locations. The experience could have been much better, in my opinion if they had more staff to assist. I'm a fan of Moe's.. I miss the one that went out of business near where I live. If you haven't been, it's similar to Chipoltle or Qdoba, but they have junior burritos that are smaller than the semi-truck size burritos at the other chains, and I love that you don't have to pay extra for chips. The salsa bar is a nice perk. Fresh ingredients; assembly line style. When we stopped here I was starving and had been driving for hours without seeing anything but a Wendy's so I was thrilled to see a Moe's even though it was in a truck stop. The past two times I've came here has been an extreme disappointment especially since I live over an hour away from a Moe's. First disappointing time they had ran out of ground beef (who does that?! It's a taco shop?!) and their pop machines were all out of Dr. Pepper which sucked because I'm in love with the Dr. Pepper vanilla cherry. Second fiasco was their serving space that they have all the food in. It was filthy. My taco salad was less than, the shell was stale to the point that it didn't even make the crunchy sound when I bit into it. Love the choices they offer. All of the ingredients are fresh. It's something different and so much better than Taco Bell. I got the Quesadilla . It was so good, full of tons of ingredients of my choosing. Toasted to a nice crisp. I've also had the burrito in a bowl there, it's good too. My biggest complaint is the ridiculous up charge for guacamole , but I think that is pretty typical at most places. Also, queso for your chips is going to cost you an extra $1.25. Interesting concept, the workers described it like a subway, and it is to the point that you start on one end and go down the line telling them what you want on whatever you started with. Open 24 hr, parking a little tight the day I visited. It appeared to be very busy. I don't eat meat and they had tofu to replace some of the protein. Over all clean friendly and good food that can change depending on what "you" decide to put on. I chose a "bowl", it is like a burrito without the bread. A little more expensive then other fast foods, but the variety makes up the difference in my eyes. If you like Tex Mex, and are in the area and hungry you should at least stop once and try it. I had five guests and they would give it three to four stars. So I guess like everything, everyone has there own tastes. Hope your experience is as good as mine. read more
