Stopped here while on the road because I had a Gino's once before in Summersville, WV and liked it. No such experience here. Crust was soggy, grease on top and toppings fell off when you tried to pick up a slice. They were "decent" enough to refund me. Of course after driving 8 hours I had to eat a bag of chips at the hotel for my dinner and was therefore NOT HAPPY! Also, I ordered a beer for my wait and never got it. Gino's is a little Italian place inside of a plaza that has plenty of parking. It's kind of a little hole in the wall kind of place. They have inside seating that is pretty tight but was still able to accommodate our party of six. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food: everything we ordered was decent sized and tasted pretty good. Cheesy bread- came with a marinara dipping sauce and was excellent Onion Rings- are the really big ones that you see in a lot of restaurants. Nothing amazing but no complaints here. Calzone- this what I ordered. It was good but needed a little more cheese. Also it didn't come with a dipping sauce, but I kept the one that came with the cheesy bread so it worked out. Spaghetti- I also tried it and it was pretty good. The sauce is a little sweet my girlfriend really liked it. Pubwich- the rest of our party ordered these. I didn't get to try them but they all raved about them. The waitress had suggested them so next time I'm going to listen. All in all a nice little spot that I would recommend if you're in a hurry and want some Italian. read more

Great pizza place right off of 79! Delicious pan pizza. I've been here twice and have been pleased both times. Pizza, salad, and pasta are all good and the prices are affordable. They also offer some great specials. I'd like to try the wings or a hoagie next. Gino's is a great find! read more

You know how you can sometimes take a chance and stop in at an "Italian" restaurant in a strip mall and get some pretty decent lasagne? Well, that didn't happen here. When the best thing about a restaurant is the garlic bread, you've got a problem. Lasagne was awful. How hard is it to make even an okay lasagne? I don't know what the meat was, but neither the texture nor taste seemed like beef. The sauce wasn't good. The noodles weren't good. The cheese wasn't good. The spaghetti portion was laughable. My four-year-old nephew could've eaten three or four of those baby portions. "What kind of salad would you like?" "What are my choices?" "Ranch. French. Blue Cheese..." "Oh, what kind of salad DRESSING?" Shredded iceberg with a couple tomato cubes does not a good salad make. Sigh. read more

You know how when a whale dies, it sinks to the ocean floor and creates it's own ecosystem? Gino's is kind of like that. Except it's not a whale, it's a pizza shop. And instead of a sea floor-ecosystem, it's a dying strip mall. The floor is super sticky, but the charm of the overweight servers and the quichy wall decorations will stick with you for much longer. Who is Lewis, you might ask? I don't know. But 6 of his jerseys are on full display. Who's Gino? I hadn't figured that out either. With every bite of my flat bread, my curiosity just grew and grew. I grew up on Ginos so this is nostalgic for me. My favorites are the baked spaghetti and pizza breads. Love the sausage they use and baked crispy. Sometimes the pubwiches are drowning in mayo so if you are averse, ask for it on the side. Overall, I think it is a solid local pizza parlor. Authentic " Italian "? Of course not. So four hungry government workers are riding in a car... That has to be the start of an amusing anecdote. But there we were, en route from Pittsburgh to Charleston and we did need some sustenance. We pulled off the road and found this neat little pizza joint tucked into some stip mall. Gino's is a friendly little place, which seems busy at lunchtime (always a good sign). Not having time to order a full pizza, we opted for sandwiches and the like. I ordered the half-Sicilian (hot ham, genoa salami, pepperoni) and it was every bit as good as the ones I've had at my favorite haunts back in Pittsburgh (Monte Cello's, Yimmy's). Service was friendly and efficient too. And just so you know, when I rate something at three stars, it very often means that the place is a solid, nothin' fancy performer. We randomly stopped at Gino's for dinner while traveling back home to Pennsylvania from North Carolina. The food was really good! We had pizza and cheese bread -both were delicious! The service was good and fast! Perfect for us traveling! The pizza was perfectly cooked and the crust was just right! Not too thin and not too thick! Although the price is cheap and got our pizza delivered very quickly the basic pepperoni pizza was not good. It was mostly tomato sauce very little cheese or pepperonis and it had no flavor! read more

I didn't realize that Gino's was a chain restaurant because we don't have any here in our area. We went for lunch on our trip to WV this weekend, and it just was ok. The portion sizes were good and the price was decent, but the food.... not so much. It was extremely bland, and I didn't even eat half of it. I would possibly try a hoagie on my next visit, but if you are into pasta I'd stay away from that. It had chuncks of peppers and sausage in it, and the sauce was sort of reminiscent of catsup. Just not my cup of tea. The service was good though, and the garlic bread was tasty. I would try something else and give them another shot. read more

Bad Pizza, unclean conditions, cold beer.....Service...ah...middle of the road. I have eaten at Gino's from one end of the state to the other many times over the years and it just doesn't get much better as it goes. Either you love this mess or you don't. It's just not good pizza.. And when served in a dirty, worn out dining room, it doesn't make a better product, believe me. For several years now we have traveled from Southwest Virginia to Pittsburgh for Pirate Baseball and have made Gino's our lunch stop. Gino's is located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. When you enter you place and pay for your order at the counter. They have a good selection of food ranging from Pizza, calzone, spaghetti and very good subs. Once you place your order find a table or booth and a staff member will deliver it. We have eaten here several times and the food has always been served quick and hot. The Pizza's are very good and I really enjoy their subs and the baked spaghetti. We have always enjoyed our visits to Gino's and will continue to make it out lunch stop when traveling to Pittsburgh. read more

This is a favorite place for my father and I to go after a morning of fishing on stonewall Jackson lake. There's plenty of room to park the boat in the parking lot. The food is good and reasonably priced. We've enjoyed the following items: pizza, garlic breadsticks, cheese breadsticks, ham n cheese hoagie, philly steak hoagie, and the beef steak (think long, seasoned hamburger patty) hoagie. The sandwiches all come with wavy chips included. We really like the garlic breadsticks, but they can be really inconsistent with these. One time they will be cooked perfectly with plenty of garlic butter. Another time, the bread will be dry, burnt on the bottom, and there will hardly be any garlic butter even after asking for extra. The breadsticks are really our only complaint. Lots of people really like the spaghetti and pasta dishes here, especially on two for Tuesday. However, I've never been that impressed with these items. To each their own. Service is always friendly, but they can get overwhelmed when the restaurant is really busy, particularly for the two for Tuesday. read more

Tried this place for lunch but we weren't very impressed though. We all got grilled chicken salads that seem to have less then any other place we've ever been to as far as chicken. The salads appear more like a big pile of lettuce shredded and put in a bowl. I normally love blue cheese dressing but did not care for this dressing at all. Samantha said she doesn't like it because all she tastes is lettuce and it definitely needed more dressing. Stacy agrees it needs more chicken. We did get an order of breadsticks to go along with those salads and they were edible but nothing to write home about. Considering that there's a sheets down the road where you can get a chicken salad made the way you want it I highly doubt we would try this place again for salads. read more

Stopped for the night on a road trip from NC to PA and this way or half way point. We had read the other reviews and were not sure but decided to take a chance. Boy are we glad we did! My husband had the lasagne with meat sauce and garlic bread. Some of the best we've ever had! The lasagne had big chunks of meat, not a measly bit. The garlic bread was out of this world, made with garlic oil I think. And I had the calzone with ham and tomatoes. So friggin good! Large pieces of fresh tomatoes and flavorful ham. We were stuffed and happy! My husband said that this MUST be our stop every time we come this way. Highly recommend! read more

Very small, narrow dining area. Service was not very good, food was just ok, but a little pricey for what we ordered. There was four in our group, and we all agreed not to stop again unless nothing else was open. There were two in the group who wanted to give one star, they didn't finish their meals, and said it was not worth taking home. I believe they felt the waitress was inattentive also. You really might want to re-think this one. Dirty, dirty, dirty!!!!!!! The dinning area is well kept, but just look around. I was so appalled with what i saw after eating there. We stood at the register for 5 minutes and no one came from the back. So instead of just walking out and not paying We did the right thing. I stepped around the counter and yelled through an opening. OMG! yuck! Dont believe me just look. We noticed the ceiling and walls around the oven. As bad as they are, still looked better than the kitchen area! I warn everyone I talk to. I moved to the area from New Jersey. I LOVE Pizza. My husband and I visited this place to check it out. We had a bacon pizza. It was good don't get me wrong, but it's more akin to Little Ceasar's, not like Ray's or other 'NY' pizza.. The slices are small and crispy, not big and on the softer side.
