I somehow confused myself. Mogul Dynasty is still; in Craddocks Avenue or Parade as it is known!

There was outdoor areas with lighting, but a tad too cold out. Cute areas though. They were pretty busy as well and luckily we got a good table. Wait staff were friendly, pace of service was a little slower than what I'm used to. Had to hail someone down quite a bit, but overall food was great. We started out with cocktails because there was a special, happy hour going on. Potted Devon crab with avocado guacamole and chicken liver parfait. Not sure why I expected the Devon crab to be hot.... but it was tasty. I craved a couple more pieces of toast. I got the duck leg confit with citrus sauce and my friend got St. Austell's Tribute Steak and Ale pie. The duck was delicious. Perfectly cooked, sauce went well with it. The Dauphinoise potato, I wanted more so badly. My plate was cleaned except for the bones. The steak and ale pie was not bad, my friend enjoyed it. We finished dinner off with their pistachio soufflé. I asked what was recommended for dessert, never had a pistachio soufflé before, and it was rich and sweet. Offset by the chocolate ice cream, which had a slight bitterness to it. Perfect combination. The table next to us got the chateaubriand for two. That looked amazing and had my mouth watering. If I'm ever back in the area, I do plan on making another trip hopefully.

I am always a fan of a good country pub. We were two thirds of hour way round a Sunday country walk…read moreand found ourselves a bit peckish and in need of some refreshment. This place definitely delivered. We sat outside in their pleasant garden. Only downside is it's not south facing so wasn't in the sun. We got a bit chilly after a while so we moved to one of their tables with a heater. Much more cosy. Service was very friendly. They brought some water and offered biscuits to our dog (always a winner). Food was excellent. The beetroot and burrata salad was particularly tasty and beautifully presented. Potted shrimp was also very tasty. It gets 4 rather than 5 because it is a little expensive. Worth it but still a bit pricey for a pub. We would definitely return if we were in the area as there were a lot of delectable sounding items on the menu.

What a find this place is! This is food about as good as it gets and the menu is ever changing…read morebased on what is locally available. The menu is simple and perfect, a choice of a 6 course or 8 course tasting menu; with a wine pairing option. They will happily alter to suite vegetarians etc. Everything we had, from a light broad bean and mint velouté soup, 20 minute sugar/salt cured fresh mackerel blow touched to crisp the skin, local beef and two deserts was outstanding. The staff were very professional, knowledgable and helpful. Decor is modern, clean and very attractive. There is absolutely nothing I can say negative about this place. Apparently others feel the same way, it is becoming extremely difficult to get a reservation. Interestingly the kitchen is open and a hive of activity. Steven Edwards (an award winning British chef) and his team clearly know what they are doing and are not afraid to experiment and surprise. For example; bread is a light, warmed brioche bun with a glossy Marmite glaze. Absolutely stunning, especially considering I do not like Marmite! My wife, daughter and me spent a very enjoyable 3 hours dinning at Etch and left very happy and pleasantly surprised. The 8 course tasting menu is not over indulgent, just right for anyone with a normal appetite. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really awful restaurants, but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them

That area is awash with world-class restaurants owned/run by top-name chefs. We had many opportunities to indulge, but also to gain a better appreciation of blending flavours, food preparation and presentation, service, and, basically, style. It was a pleasure to come to Shaun Dickens' restaurant and experience the same very high quality of service, food, and style as we had over the previous years. Shaun even emailed me prior to our meal to check on our vegetarian preferences, which I had referenced in my reservation. Nice touch. Walking through the door, we were warmly welcomed, ushered to a window-view table, and provided with pre-dinner amuse-bouches, along with a pre-dinner drinks menu. The wine menu showed a broad range of excellent choices from all over the world, which was refreshing compared to the almost all-California wine menu (as you would expect) in San Francisco. Our appetisers and main courses were things of beauty - almost too well presented to want to spoil. But spoil we did, and the fantastic range of flavours left us sated... but still with some room for dessert. A "happy birthday" message was kindly written on to my wife's dessert plate, and we were given after dinner treats along with an extremely reasonable bill. One of the servers, the young lady who presented all the dishes, was extremely professional and polite, clearly mindful of delivering a higher level of dining experience - but by some standards she might want to relax a little. Overall, an excellent choice for a special meal, and we will definitely go back for more.
