The course is challenging. Play it a few times and see which holes you like or don't. The 19th hole is great, get a cold beer, wings, or a sandwich after play. Super rude golf staff, if you call to check tee time availability, they are rude that they have to check. Whichever guy runs the shop needs to be replaced. My friend simply called and asked why they had a tee time on golf now but not available on there tee sheet and he couldn't have been more rude and said " good for them" ??? Great local golf on the county system. Course is in good shape, well maintained and reasonably challenging. Carts (gas) are GPS equipped and there is a well stocked snack shop at the turn. Reservations can be tricky and a lot depends (price, ability to reserve a nine-hole slot) on whether you have a county park pass and if you call or reserve online. read more

July 23,2020 the golf course/greens are well kept so, I am giving it 4 Stars. However, giving 1 *STAR for the women's Locker Room that we had to pass in order to get to the bathroom, it was like looking at a horror show. First we had to walk down a carpeted staircase that could use new carpeting, then when you entered the Locker Room the Shower Curtains on the 3-4 stalls where ripped off and looked moldy, the room could also use a paint job. It was really embarrassing and a shame to think this golf course is so well kept WHY is the Ladies Locker Room in such shambles? Also, after leaving the Ladies Room on my way up the stairs to sign into the Pro Shop, I had to walk over a hugh Water Bug or Roach, whatever it was, I made sure I would not order Breakfast or Lunch at this course - I can imagine how the kitchen is kept after seeing the Locker Room and Water Bug. All in all, I would play here again, and bring my own food, but I will send a message to George Latimer our WESTCHESTER County Executive telling him how embarrassing the Women's Locker Room was. Also, I just wonder what the Men's Locker Room looks like? read more

Course was in very good condition from tee to green in late August, granted that the greens had been aerated shortly before I played. In terms of course setup, Mohansic winds its way through the rolling hills of Yorktown Heights in Westchester County. Changes in elevation are present, but not daunting. Fairways are very much undulated, so players are likely to be faced with uneven lies on approach shots. Like blind shots? This is your course because Mohansic has a ton off the tee! There's a driving range (with mats) and putting greens for warm-ups before your round, a grill at the turn and a bar at the 19th hole. What we weren't crazy about: Having arrived more than a half hour before our tee time, the starter tried to get us right out immediately. After some resistance from us (because we like to warm up first - duh) he conceded and allowed us (?) to tee off when scheduled. Also, we were dodging sprinklers for a good portion of our round; one of our trio having to play with soggy shoes for a good portion of the round. Pace of play was very slow at around 5.5 hours (I've played much more difficult courses in 3.5 hours. 2 hour difference? Heyooo!). $64 on a Saturday afternoon, with a cart, for out of county players. read more

I Also find the Staff unhelpful. And the owner of the bar feels like he owns the coarse and can hit up on you with NO REGARDS. The golf coarse is definitely showing it's age. Bunkers are NEVER DONE. OH and I've been calling for 3hrs to make a tee time and NO-ONE answers the phone. read more

Mohansic Golf Course is a well-maintained, moderately difficult for most players (for me: pretty difficult) Westchester Country course. The scenery is beautiful, there are hawks, deer and the occasional turkey living here. It's walkable (only the 15th hole has a serious uphill climb). Only the 7th hole has a water hazard, and since it's a par 3 with an elevated tee, it's easy to handle. This is great for me because I have a water phobia. There is a driving range and several putting/chipping practice areas. The staff is friendly, the course is well-mtaintained. It is crowded on weekends, but then again, all the county courses are crowded during the summer. read more

Course was in fair condition although there were spots that are under repair. Some of which likely due to the excessive rains this season. Challenging course which I'm okay with but the pin placement on the greens can be ridiculous. A guy in my foursome tapped a 4-foot putt which hits hole, rolls out & heads down/ off the green for a 35-foot second putt?! This isn't Augusta. Pace of play was slow. Never seen ranger again once we were off of #1. Rate was $57 with park pass. read more

The staff does not communicate here. I'm sure the course is beautiful, but we didn't even get to see it. When we first called, they told us there was no need to worry about reserving a start time and to just come on up, so we did. We walk into the pro shop and they told us they had a tournament scheduled so we would have to wait another hour. We were a little frustrated, but we waited. We hit some balls, and came back for our tee time, the tournament still hadn't even started, and they had run out of carts. There was no communication between the pro shop, the starter, and the rest of the staff. No one knew what was going on. I wish I had some more positive feedback, but we wasted hours here and didn't even end up playing the course. read more

I've played Mohansic regularly for 20 years. During that time it has improved dramatically. Rebuilt tee boxes, cleared brush, new traps. The grill is now a destination in its own right with live music and a good menu. Tee to green it is well maintained, but some rework is still needed. The 5th and 15th greens are very sloped and could do with a rework to level out with a false front, perhaps. The layout is challenging, and a good test. High handicappers might find some holes frustrating. The terrain is quite hilly and not a walking course for everyone. Even if you regularly walk, you'll know it by the time you reach 18. As with many other public courses, it has a problem with slow play, especially at weekends. More attentive rangers might help speed the play. The starter can be a bit lax in enforcing tee times and parties sometimes go out too close together; which also slows play. The location is outstanding and it is a beautiful course during every season. I regularly walk the course in the winter for the solitude, the wildlife and the views. read more

Mohansic is the best golf course run by Westchester County. The layout is "Old School" great, rounds take only four hours for a foursome, and there is a nice bar and restaurant. read more

Beautiful Golf Course with an excellent maintenance team. The Course was outstanding in terms of maintenance. The traps were raked so smoothly that it should be a crime for any golfer to walk on them or play their ball in them! If only my Golf game was as beautiful as the traps I'd be on the PGA Tour! 5 Stars for dedicated workers. read more
