Awesome place for brunch! Just bring good company & patience! I went on a Sunday brunch and the place was packed. They told me there would be a 10 minute wait but I told them I wanted to sit in the garden with my family. We went ahead and I loved it because it was intmiate and romantic looking outside. The servers were really friendly and accomadating. They were always so caring and attentive. The food did take about 45-50 minutes to arrive. The servers kept apologizing and we got complementary fresh baked goods. They were to dye for, so warm and savory. Since me and my family were talking away we did not really care until we noticed it was taking a while. But the we realized how packed it was and since we have been in the restaurant business, we know that fresh and good food does always take longer. Our expectations of the food became higher. Once the food arrived it did not dissapoint. My smoked salmon eggs benedict were so mouthwatering. My mother & brother enjoyed there food very much as well. Besides the wait, this place won us over. Brought my mom here who is visiting from Miami. The food was ridiculously amazing. The seafood risotto was literally life changing for my mom lol and she's been to Paris multiple times so that within itself was awesome. I'm vegetarian & i loved the mushroom pesto pasta, sooo good! Julien was the most attentive host. He has so much pride in what he does and extensive knowledge in his culture's cuisine. It was a very genuine, welcoming, warm experience. Who knew about this place?! I was on my way to the Associated grocery store on Knickerbocker (BKLYN!) and There was this little place with double doors, screened windows, not really a sign, and a few Bushwickians coming and going. After I passed by a few times, I decided one Sunday morning to go in. Great atmosphere (better with a significant other) friendly staff and quite good service. The food was terrific, even though I'm not sure I received what I ordered, but it didn't matter because it was terrific. Every drink comes in a mason jar of sorts (duh) and the food portions reflect the prices well. I've since been back and treated it simply as a bar and my experience was similar (and again, go with a significant other). So another great little place to eat in Bushwick, one of the few new trendy places opening on that stretch of Knickerbocker, and remember, bring a date! read more

But last night I found myself there, and despite the fact I said I'd never order their burger again, I figured enough time had passed for it to change again, and it did! Cooked food is decent - but the last time I went the greens (which are probably/ hopefully from a farmer's market or CSA) were full of dirt. I told the staff that the greens were gritty from dirt and the dirty t-shirt clad staff just sort of shrugged his shoulders. Look no further than $1 oyster FTW! We sat in the beautiful back garden. Everyone who works here is French which is also a good sign. We shared a delicious but simple beef tartare with a cracked egg over the top and a side of fries. This review would be 5 stars, but the fries were a bit cold and probably old. How this place has less than 4 stars is beyond me. Just went to brunch here on a beautiful day and sat outside in their awesome garden. Waited a bit for a table, but the wait was worth sitting outside for! Now for the food. Oh mama. This was some of the best brunch food I've had in the city. We ordered the salmon benedict, duck hash confit, and the pancake with mac n cheese and lamb sausage as our free check in sides. Everything was incredible, but the stars were the duck and the pancake, with the latter of the two being my recommendation if you had to choose one thing. Ask for Ivy if you can! Went here on Valentine's Day which was a mistake already. The service and food were horrendous. I ordered the steak which was cold and rubbery when I got it. French onion soup was filled to half of the bowl. Friend got the burger was not cooked through. The steak tartare was chopped too big and quality of meat was lacking. Searched online for a good spot to grab a good lunch in the area and stumbled upon this place. Super quiet at this time (2pm on a Tuesday) and greeted by a smiling young French man. We sat and was immediately impressed with the quirky decor and very cute julienne (not sure if that's how he spells it) taking care of us. We had the mixed meat and cheese plate some oysters and the French onion soup, accompanied by a bottle of Tempranillo. The server/bartender was a one man show but was very attentive, personable and smiley. My wife and I had a very nice diner here on a cold rainy evening. While she enjoyed here lamb chops with beans and a gratin I made my way through a very decent steak which was perfectly cooked. When you're there you must give their Crème Brûlée a go. It's awesome!! Service was excellent and the waiter also gave us loads of tips on what to do and where to go. We had to wait a little bit on the food but that was no problem since we wanted to have a relaxing diner. read more

Had an excellent dinner at Mominette about as week ago. The staff was great and so was everything we ordered. Excellent french onions soups (9.5/10) and then our party had the Steak Frites (cooked perfectly medium rare with a slightly crunchy exterior), the Norwegian Salmon, and the Beef Bourguignon (really delicious). I been to Mominette a while ago when it first opened but this weekend I found myself back at the same restaurant looks very different I so happened to try the salmon tartare I fell in love with it. If I was ask if there was any place that is to have something to eat I would without a doubt recommend this restaurant. Indeed there must be a new chef because the food was done to perfection. I just had Brunch here with 3 of my girlfriends. We were here for about an hr, at the end of our meal I asked for more coffee and our server Daniela essentially told me I couldn't have more coffee bcz we were done and they needed to turn the table. Mind you, she did not explain or ask nicely but essentially tried to make it some kind of policy. We asked a diff server who said "sure no prob". There was no line as everyone that was waiting was seated in a few mins. One of my friends went up to pay asked to speak to a manager, Daniela proceeded to argue with her about how she wasn't being rude; all the while gesturing angering my friend. Afterwards she proceeded to complain to her fellow servers who proceed to comfort her and stare at us. We later heard her tell another table "I'm sorry, I just had an altercation with that table". I hosted an engagement party for a friend here and I'm so glad I did. It's one of the only places in NYC without an insane event fee (I scouted places for two months) and the manager was so helpful and flexible with my planning. We had the event in the garden and I still hear from others about how much they loved the space. Basically anything I wanted was possible. The pricing on the food was very reasonable and tasted great too. We decided to keep it casual and do a buffet with apps but I'm sure it would work well to have a seated meal too. We had about 35 people and had enough space once we moved some of the tables out of the way since everyone seemed to stand most of the time. Definitely recommend for any party! read more

Bushwick is flourishing with many great restaurants, however, Mominette made it to the top of our list. From the best hollandaise sauce in town to amazing mimosas their Brunch menu is exceptional. Our favorites are Eggs Benedict & Florentine. And we absolutely love their garden. And as if that's not enough, the staff and their service is beyond our expectations. Eric, one of their managers, makes sure we feel at home every time we visit. I went to this restaurant this past Saturday on 7/30/16 for Breakfast. We were sat outside in the peaceful garden section in the backyard of the restaurant. We ordered the Mominette Pancake, Lamb Sausages, Egg with Spinach Croissant. The pancake which was very large in size, came out tasting great, with a maple syrup, strawberry whip cream on the side and butter. Great taste and value for $12. The Lamb Sausage were just "ok" since they are a bit small and dry. The Egg with Spinach Croissant was very good as well and was a nice size as well. Only big negative is that they are a only cash and American express establishment. Which I made note to management that needs to change asap with the type of people visiting and who live in the neighborhood. Other than that, this is a must go restaurant in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn. read more

Expectations were low after seeing the "C" health grade upon arrival. As far as the food goes: - Brussels Sprout Salad: Tasty because it's basically a Casear Salad with a fried egg on top, but the egg was overcooked, and the yolk wasn't runny. - Duck Rilette: Not smooth or creamy, closer to a country pate than expected. - Salmon Tatare: Probably the worst of the four items ordered. The salmon was a very pale pink instead of bright, which gave off the impression it was not particularly fresh. It certainly didn't taste great. The excessive yogurt topping the tartar overpowered the other flavors. Probably not a terrible thing. Strangely the dish came served with an disproportionate amount of sweet potato chips. About 70% of the plate was covered in the flavorless fried chips. Also unclear how the chips related to the tartar. - Cauliflower Grattin: Melted cheese and breadcrumbs covering a small casserole dish of cauliflower. Passes for edible because it's warm cheese and breadcrumbs. Despite the restaurant being empty, service was middle of the road. The server was absent at times smoking cigarettes, but at other times would ramble on at the table. read more
