MOMLETA was such a core part of my maternity leave for my second baby. The monthly unlimited plan was really reasonably priced and I started attending classes multiple times a week as soon as I got the go-ahead from my doctor. The classes created a really helpful structure for my days and an opportunity to get outside and move my body in a way that felt amazing for both my physical and mental health. The workouts were challenging but accessible, and the other moms in the class were welcoming and fun to hang out with! Even when my baby would cry during class, I was able to make it work and Mary and Ariana would jump in to help where they could. I would highly recommend this program for any and all moms out there - regardless of where you are on your post/pre-natal journey. I love Momleta! The workout is tough enough for those feeling strong and looking for a challenge, with lots of modifications for those just getting back into exercising or not confident in what they can/should be doing. It varies every day so doesn't get boring and works different muscles in different ways each time. I started about 3 months postpartum after my second kid, having already been doing low impact cycling and strength workouts. Coming 1-2/wk for 2 months has bumped up my strength and endurance, and allowed me to get back into running in a safe and accessible way -- months sooner than after my first kid. The community is welcoming and friendly, and I love getting to work out outside in a beautiful place by Lake Temescal. And a final added bonus - Mary helps out if the babies start crying so you can focus on you and your workout. I can't recommend it enough. read more

This class was so fun! A HIIT work-out in a socially distanced setting at such a beautiful outdoor location at Lake Temescal. My husband and I have been super COVID safe, so I was nervous about a work-out class but it was 100% masked and I was farther than I would be from someone in any store. The class is a great workout and kids can play on the fun equipment while you workout or in my case, stay in the stroller and there's enough motion to keep them happy! I'm a long time participant in Mary's classes (I started coming when my almost 9 year old was 1) and it's been life changing for me. I was never really a regular "exerciser" before coming here and it's made exercise truly fun, social, and something I look forward to in my day. It's a workout that is safe and challenging whether one is 6 weeks or years postpartum. Mary really knows her stuff about the physical recovery for moms after birth and tailors her classes to achieve that. I sat down to write today about how Mary has pivoted during the pandemic. She didn't miss a beat and had us working out on zoom right away with her usual great HIIT workouts. My favorite is the addition of "Weights Wednesday" since we are home, rather than moving around the park and can use weights (though you can still do the exercises with body weight if you don't have weights). A silver lining to having to move to a zoom format is that the classes are recorded and can be accessed live OR later on if that's convenient. And more recently, she restarted in person class one day per week (Thursdays) in a safe, masked, socially distanced way. I was unsure about exercising in a mask, but it's actually fine, and I love being in the fresh air and the beautiful setting of Lake Temescal again. More than ever during this strange year, regular exercise is a mental health touch stone for me as a mom and a human being. read more

I love Mary's boot camps! I initially started going 7yrs ago before I had my daughter, I got in such great shape pre-baby! I recently started going again and love all the modifications- it's for ANY fitness level, the most welcoming group of moms- some with babies in strollers, some who have "babies" in their 30s...Mary's boot camps are for EVERYONE. And who doesn't love an outdoor morning workout to start the day?! Mary is super knowledgeable when it comes to pelvic floor and modifying exercises during pregnancy and postpartum. Not just for Moms! I'm an athletic dad who is a former CrossFit coach and a current StrongFirst student. Mary's workouts still kick my butt! I attended in-person workouts several years ago when my second child was born, and started virtual classes when shelter-in-place began. Mary is an entertaining class leader with creative, constantly varied workouts. She is great at creating an inclusive community, even when I'm the only guy there. I have been coming here for about 4-5 years now. My daughter is now 9 and I mostly come alone but love that when my daughter is out of school she is welcome to come along. When I had my first child in 2018, I had heard about "Baby Bootcamp," but at the time, I couldn't get my act together to get out the door and anywhere on time and was a little intimidated by the "bootcamp" title...fast forward to 2022 and another baby - I was finally able to check out Mary's classes and man, oh man, do I wish I had also done them in 2018! This review is for the ZOOM classes offered during the Covid pandemic. They have been a life saver and Mary is fantastic! I had always wanted to attend the in person classes before the pandemic but was not able to due to my work schedule. Now the live class is recorded on Zoom each morning so I can do during a lunch break later in the day. It's convenient, it's a great full body workout, and diverse enough in the exercises and targeted muscle groups that I can do the workouts almost daily. Monthly membership also includes access to the national online classes as well. Highly recommend! read more

I joined Momleta Oakland during my first pregnancy and found it to be - hands down - the best fitness community of expecting and current moms I have come across. Mary- the owner of the class- is extremely personable and supportive and helps each person figure out how to thrive given their unique situation. I was having a very challenging pregnancy and found the outdoor classes in Temescal park to be fun, engaging, varied and invigorating. The community of moms are very supportive and friendly- it's like one big family. And the setting by the lake and under the trees is beautiful and restorative. Im so glad I found this! I've been struggling to get back into an exercise routine since having my babies/pandemic. I love being able to get a workout with my baby in tow. It's a great way to get out of the house and be with other moms who understand the struggle! The classes are fun and you can get a good workout even if you have to tend to your baby half the time. At about 3 months into postpartum I was desperately searching for a way to meet people, start exercising and take care of a newborn all at the same time. Momleta Oakland checked all my boxes and then some! Mary is amazing, the workouts are full body and made me remember and regain my strength/endurance. Since the pandemic, Mary obviously moved most of her workouts online which actually turned out great because my daughter and I can do them at our convenience at home while my little guy is napping. However, I still love being outside (the best part of these workouts), so I take both kids in the double stroller on Thursdays and it is still working out really well. And feels super safe :) I should also add that I moved through the tunnel to Moraga about a year ago, so all the online stuff has been such a bonus to stay connected to this wonderful community! read more

I recently finished up 5 months of boot camp with Mary after giving birth to my second child. After neglecting to care for myself after the birth of my firstborn, I was determined to put myself first for once! My baby and I started boot camp at 6 weeks postpartum. It felt GREAT to seriously sweat it out for an hour 4x a week yet have the peace of mind that my new baby was right next to me. No need to be anxious about finding childcare or being away from baby before I was ready. Mary is a FANTASTIC instructor. She mixes it up so there's always something new, even as a regular, yet there's consistency in the workouts so you feel like you're really making gains. I found out about it on a Facebook group when I was about 10 weeks postpartum and was so excited because I needed more reasons to practice getting out of the house with a newborn and I was fespatate to get back into some movement/exervise but didn't know how. I'm still going 7 months later and it's one of the best parts of my week. all of the instructors are amazing the owner Mary is very encouraging and has a great attitude. Best thing I've done for myself since becoming a mom. I started with Mary after gaining 55lbs during my pregnancy. My son was 3 months and I could barely motivate myself to get out of the house due to exhaustion and fear that my child would have a breakdown. Mary and the other moms were beyond supportive and put me at ease. My child is now 8 months, I'm down 70lbs (yes, 15 extra) and am feeling so much stronger than I have in a long time. This boot camp class is great! I took it for about eight months before I got injured (doing something else). Mary teaches most of the classes, and she is super knowledgeable about fitness in general and particularly about the pre-and post partum body. The workouts can be relatively light with lots of modifications offered or very intense depending on your fitness level. It's also a wonderful group of moms! Since everyone is in the same boat, no one will judge you if your baby starts crying and you want to finish your set of push-ups... Mary will even come over to move the stroller of crying babies to soothe them when she can. She also makes a point of learning everyone's names and is very welcoming! read more

What a lifesaver! My schedule doesn't allow me to join the classes live and so I've been doing the workouts on my own and they are amazing. They start gentle and before I realize it, the intensity builds up, up, up and the workout kicks your...well, you get the point. Just like the in-person classes, the instructors always offer different levels of intensity so that you can join as a new mom, who is gradually getting back into shape, or as a veteran of the classes. There is also such a wonderful community. Mary McQueen makes everyone feel welcome (even if you are late, distracted, and have to leave class early bc our baby/partner is melting down!) and offers many different avenues for finding what you need. Last thing...the price is great for being able to get as many as 5 virtual workouts per week while supporting a vital community business. read more

I LOVE boot camp. I have been coming every week since my little one was 3 months. Now, that he's 15 months and in daycare because I'm back at work, I still make coming to class part of my daily routine. It has been so essential for both my mental and physical health. Mary is such a fantastic instructor. The workouts are always varied--I feel like we've never done the same thing twice! And, she always gives modifications and education for postpartum care and on what exercises support us in various stages along our recovery and pregnancy.
