I was in awe with the store's containment of special little things. From vintage hair picks to a silver engraved cigarillo case. These collections speak stories and it seems impossible not to find something wish-worthy. I instantly became attached to an old style brass candle holder. Tea cups, pocket watches, records, cutlery, furniture, cufflings, toy trucks, literature-- the crop is plentiful and of fantastic quality. The gorgeous Parisian style couch was a show stopper. As was the rustic round wooden table. You get the picture. This would be a fantastic place to visit if you're looking to add a little extra charm to your surroundings. The owner also offers an 'Antique Finder' service in which people looking for a particular item can call in and he will try to find it for you. A special little spot filled with good finds.

Last time I visited, Andrew and I purchases a vintage microphone. We bought it for only about $40, and it was in great condition. We got it home, figured out the proper adapter, and had it working in no time. As well as old electronics, they also have delicate china, records, home furnishings and other odds and ends. This is a delightful little Hydrostone shop worth a visit.

On this occasion I had brought family from Ontario down and we had literally stepped foot in to the shop, and as you walk in there is a selection of some vintage jewelry... I had started to talk to my family members about something that had caught my eye in the case, and was interrupted by the women that runs the store. Now when I say interrupted, I don't mean, a nice excuse me... but in the middle of my conversation she gives me the time out sign with her hands, and asks for our attention, she is closing at 5, ( it was ten to five) and we could quickly look around if we like, but it would be better if we come back tomorrow. She was so rude, I was speechless ( and that doesn't happen often), there was 5 of us, for all she knew we could have all bought something. We quickly exited the store, and I have no reason to ever go back, which is unfortunate as I have purchased things in the past but they won't be getting anymore of my greens! I have worked in retail before, and yes it is not fun when someone comes in to your store 10 minutes before you close, I get it, but could have been handled with a little more professionalism and maritime hospitality.

The store's vast collection of material goods is unified under a gorgeous Baroque inspired esthetic. The store is well laid out; however, it seems impossible to take it all in during one visit. There is an overwhelming abundance of things to look at, but an obvious eye for detail and decadence. Affiliated with Abby's Fabric Shop, the store also contains plentiful fabric spools to allude luxury. Bellissimo is rich and a gorgeous spot to explore.
