Daughter loved the flute and instrument was purchased at the end of the lease. Fast forward several years to High School Marching Band with that same flute. Somehow, whether it was sat on or warped when the intruments got soaked in a torential rain storm the flute had a slight bow in it. We took it to Mel Owens and they were able to straighten it, changed all the pads and serviced it as if it were a new instrument again. Fast forward again... Our daughter wanted a piccolo for her December birthday. We knew just where to go. Mel Owens of course! That piccolo was quite the hit and our daughter will always remember her birthday was kept separate from Christmas with such a special gift.

My oldest was wanting a guitar of any sort for Christmas this last holiday season. My wife or me neither have a musical bone in our bodies and have never played an instrument. So we were kinda lost in the sauce on what to do here. We walked in and was greeted immediately. We explained our situation and got some advice on acoustic vs electric for forts time learners. After getting some great advice and help the worker showed us some recommended guitars that fell inside the budget range we gave him. We wanted to get her a nice guitar but didn't want to get the nicest just in case it was just a teenage faze and became a Giant paper weight. After looking at a few options we picked out a beatific looking acoustic guitar. The tremendous customer service continued after that as the worker gave us advice on getting her started with tuner apps, etc etc. mainly stuff that confused a music novice like me but it was appreciated either way. She loved her gift. We have slacked and drug our feet a bit as we haven't gotten her lessons yet. But we will soon. They actually offer lessons up there and have a huge studio on site for it. It seems like the pricing for the studio lessons is roughly about a $1 per minute. Overall cool experience that ended up being a cool and memorable Christmas present.

I had some wiggle room time though so over all it was ok, it just meant extra driving around town and a bit of worry that they might not be ready by the new date (but they were!). I wasn't made aware of this until the order arrived from The Mower Shop. The inventory specialist at this shop undoubtedly dropped the ball on this one. Additionally, The Mower Shop defers it shipping to a company called Shopify. Accordingly, I received two different shipping charges for the three spindles. The Mower Shop charged me $82.19, and Shopify claimed I should have been charged $39.53. When I called The Mower Shop and requested a reconciliation of the shipping charges, the customer service agent disavowed any knowledge of the Shopify email sent me. Lana then became both argumentative and contentious over the issue. This is the result of a company who subcontracts their shipping responsibility to a separate company and then refuses to accept the errors of either The Mower Shop or Shopify. I recommend you find a Grasshopper sanctioned dealer who processes the order correctly AND does their own shipping to ensure the order is error free and requires few, if any, contacts between the customer and argumentative employees.

If someone calls to ask about service you might want to ask what brand they have so as not to waste someones time.

The level of engagement from the staff has consistently exceeded our expectations. The teachers (and support staff) are not only warm and caring, but they also create a fun, stimulating environment that encourages exploration and growth. We've loved seeing the developmental milestones our child has reached, and we know so much of that progress is thanks to the intentional learning experiences and individual attention provided at Primrose. What stands out the most is how happy our child is when we bring her to school and the immediate engagement with the teachers. She always smiles at drop-off when we hand her to one of her teachers and they are engaged in the conversation about when our child ate last, how she slept the night before, and how her attitude was that morning before coming to school so they know how to best care for her that day. My 4 yr old son has the privilege of attending this private "accredited" yes "accredited" preschool and it is phenomenal. He has been to some daycares in the past that swear that their focus is education & challenging the minds of the little ones but trust me, after paying close attention, they were not. I researched and found Primrose before it was even built months ago & decided that this was the place my son had to be no matter how many hours I needed to work--he needed to have the best education. Primrose teachers are degree level teachers who have the know how and ability to work with the kids according to their age group. The kids have a schedule so they aren't being babysat--they're actually learning. I can't tell you how much my son has made a dramatic shift in his behavior and attitude since starting here & it hasn't even been a month. So if you're child is acting out at his/her current school, investigate what's going on--he/she may just be bored from the lack of activity. To top it all off, the owner Anne Almond rocks! Her smile and personality is contagious and the director Laura Paine is irreplaceable in the quality of professionalism and friendliness she displays to each family. Lastly, I'm a foodie so you know I love the fact that they have a Personal Chef who really prepares healthy meals for the children. My son and daughter always come home telling me about the healthy snacks they've had at Primrose. Parents, I know this was long but if you really truly care about your child's education this is the place you'll want them to be. If you have school-aged children, that's no problem. My daughter is 5 and they pick her up on the bus (that has seatbelts...what?!) everyday from school to attend Primrose for Aftercare! I kid you not--we're a military family but now that I've found Primrose and the wonderful staff at East Louisville's location--I really don't want to leave, even with me knowing they have 20 or more locations in other states. I am a regular customer of Mom's Music...although I'm not sure the word "regular" applies to those of us who have a passion for music. Perhaps ecentric is a better word. I am an eccentric customer of Mom's Music. And, I have been for many years. I deal almost exclusively with Howard Gittli, my guitar guru. I rely on his expertise and integrity to guide me in the right direction. On the rare occasion that I consider a used guitar or amp from an individual, I will call Howard first, for his opinion...good buy for me, or not. He's the kind of pro you can rely on. I've watched Howard work with professionals and beginners (of all ages), and he always treats people well. But, he isn't the only one there. All the folks at Mom's Music will give you everything they've got...their best recommendations, their honest opinions, and the best deals. Jeff, the new owner, has done a great job expanding selection, adding great people, and making sure all the pros there make customers feel welcome and at home.
