The weight room is always crowded during the afternoon and The basketball court in this area is incredibly frustrating because it's almost never open. No matter when you try to go, it's either taken over by pickleball or reserved for camps with no clear schedule. For a gym membership, it's exceptionally expensive compared to other gyms. For instance, a single membership is $43 per month and for that price, it should be top quality. Nothing could be further from the truth. What you will find instead, is equipment that is old, not necessarily in fine tune, some covered in duct tape on the soft materials, and in the cardio area, as of yesterday, five out of the 10 Life Fitness treadmills out of service. They also have several signs taped up in the men's bathroom stalls, telling you to flush the toilet. However, one stall I went into had a bowl full of feces and toilet paper. I wanted to flush it so I didn't have to look at it, but the toilet is defective. The valve just whistled. That tells me maintenance is not doing routine sweeps through the facility. Carpet steamed in express workout area. Worn flooring in downstairs gym. They also have a steam room and dry sauna but the smell of mold is overpowering when you enter the men's locker room. There are other gyms within the vicinity that are a much better value than the YMCA. It feels as if your overpriced membership is subsidizing their other programs, such as daycare and other activities. For families, this might be an ok facility, but if you're a single person, you'll do better elsewhere with cleaner facilities and more modern equipment. read more

Having not yet used the steam room, my only concern is wondering if they do mold remediation in the dry sauna because I see a rug under the wood pallet and black color on the floor so hoping it is not harmful mold. The sauna needs to be be regularly sanitized to prevent mold growth because the conditions in the sauna (hot and sweat dripping) are IDEAL to promote mold growth. read more

This place is decent it's the best gym in the Mon-valley but there's not much to compare it to either. It is pretty much always crowded unless you go super early which I'm not a morning person so that never happens. The weight area is always crowded with a bunch of people. The sauna is unisex which can be annoying since guys think it's OK to sit in there in their little boxer briefs. also people pour water in the dry sauna even though their is a steam room they can go in. There is a pool and hot tub here which Iis nice at not that common for a gym. They have a lot of classes if you like that sort of thing and most of them are included in your membership. read more

Both of my children have attended the daycare and preschool programs. They are well run by caring compassionate people. It is also very secure with swipes even to access the childcare area. Children who leave that program are more than well prepared for kindergarten! Also, the childcare offers different activities like swimming and soccer that all can be done while your child is at daycare! This is a great program for working parents!
