I had a major medical issue in April. Thankfully my issue can be handled by medications. After I left the hospital, I established my primary care with Dr. Leung and (of course) asked him to take over managing my five meds. Well, since then it has been an ongoing giant hassle to manage my meds. Just about every month, there's another problem getting my refills. The team fumbles that simple task over and over again. It doesn't feel like they're on my side to help me medically at all.

Would rate this 0/5 stars if I could. I scheduled an annual…read moreappointment and checked in at the front desk with no issues.. during the appointment itself, everything was normal. I've had physicals in the past so I know how they go. There was nothing out of the ordinary in this one. They took my blood, listened to heartbeat, did reflexes, etc. I finished and was sent on my way. 2 weeks later I surprisingly receive a bill and it appears that my insurance didn't cover anything at all, despite insurance supposedly covering annual check-ups. I call their billing dept. and was told that since I mentioned having more headaches than normal, it was an office visit rather than an annual checkup? Wtf? I've had physicals in the past where they ask how I'm doing and I tell them honestly and have never been billed. I ask why wasn't I told during my check in, and the person on the phone says that the medical assistant tried to called me but couldn't reach me and so they changed it without my knowledge and consent. If I had known that I was going to get charged for bringing up a topic I COULD LITERALLY GOOGLE, I would have never came in. Procedures for a physical were also conducted so why isn't that also there in the notes? Very sus and super opaque by my standards. They also said that the doctor told me during the exam but that's a lie, because I would have left immediately. What incentive does a doctor have to tell you that you'd be billed for something, when they get paid for it? It seems like this clinic doesn't give two hoots about the actual health of their patients and are just out for your money. I had multiple calls trying to talk to someone who could do something about this, but all they said was that "we can't change it because the service was provided". So, if I go in, and they give me something I never asked for, I'm billed? I'm out $400, because of negligence and a lack of effort to try to do the right thing. These people are horrible and don't care about you. Also keep in mind that you must lie to your doctor during physicals if there's anything wrong, because if you tell the truth, they'll bill you. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

The visit lasted less than 5 minutes yet I was billed hundreds of dollars (far more than any urgent care or primary-care visit I've ever had). The provider seemed unfamiliar with basic over-the-counter allergy medications I had to correct her on the active ingredients, and she argued instead of listening. The whole encounter felt rushed, dismissive, and uncomfortable. Extremely overpriced for the level of care (or lack thereof). There are much better options in the area.

I have always been the stubborn young adult who has firmly held the belief that I don't need insurance. I don't have any chronic medical issues, but as you might expect, things happen! Luckily for me, Guardian Family Care doesn't actually take insurance, but instead has a very, very, affordable monthly plan which includes visits anytime I need them. There is no messy insurance paperwork/deductible/co-pay/etc, and if they have the medication or shot you need in house, they'll take care of you on the spot! * Vaccinations for my trip to India? Check! * Immediate treatment and medication for a terrible allergic reaction to a spider bite in my cheek? Check! * Getting me in for blood tests when I was passing out almost daily and teaching me about my blood sugar issues? Done! He's outstanding with young children - he gets on their level, explains what is going on (even lets them check out his stethoscope!) and speaks to them in a way that made our toddlers look forward to visiting the doctor's office. He's extremely current on medical research and the latest standards of practice (which changes often in prenatal care), and he went above and beyond to research various questions we had. Overall, we can't recommend him highly enough, and will miss him now that he's moved to Lynnwood to practice at Group Health.
