My six month appointment was cancelled the day before, and when I tried to reschedule (two months out) the receptionist seemed rather unhappy to be talking to me. I understand if one dentist is gone, another on maternity leave, if she can't "control when she has the baby" but a dental office should be able to let people know more than a single day ahead of time, or at the very least understand my frustration. I went to this dentist for two bad molars and was told I needed four root canals. I agreed to three, but before I could schedule the fourth, one of my permanent crowns fell off twice within months. When it came off again, it took the filling with it, leaving just the posts exposed. I called for help but was told the dentist was on vacation and no one else could assist. Later, an Endodontist reviewed my X-rays and found lesions on all three root canals, meaning every one now needs retreatment--less than three years later. Even worse, the fourth tooth he said needed a root canal only requires a simple filling. That says everything. He may be a nice person, but the quality of his work has cost me thousands and more procedures. Save yourself the time and money--go to a qualified Endodontist first. read more

Had a 9 Am appointment for an abscess Was getting ready to walk out the door when I got a message stating my appointment has been canceled and to call to reschedule. I had a crown come off Thursday night. I live about 80 miles away. Monarch Dental normally closes at 11 on Friday. I called around 9 and they agreed to wait for me. It was 11:10 when I arrived. Dr Duff and his staff stayed until about 2 fixing my tooth. Very nice staff. Very professional operation, Dr Duff is great. They are now my permanent dental care clinic. I read the one negative review. I can't speak to her experience but Dr Duff and his staff were very concerned about my comfort and satisfaction. They constantly asked me if I was ok, any pain, etc... I'm 67 and have had a lot of dental work in my life. Most of it due to a couple of motorcycle wrecks. Monarch is the best yet. Do I recommend Monarch? YES I DO read more

I have to say that I'm shocked there are any negative reviews for this dental office! I have had nothing but amazing experiences and love the staff so much that even though I have moved out of state I still come back to them for my cleanings when I'm home for either Christmas or birthdays - seriously, I love them that much and wouldn't trust anyone else with my teeth. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the friendliest women! I've been there long enough that Cindy and Gaye know me as soon as I walk in the door. These two are magic! They are so quick to get me in and out, make my appointments and work me in when I'm in town, and always keep up with the happenings of my life. I've used the same hygienist, Valerie, since I started coming! She's a dream. We talk about her farm and kiddos. She has always done a superior job taking care of my teeth, even when I need a friendly reminder to floss more. I hate flossing, who doesn't, but Val talks about the importance every time and calls me out when she can tell I haven't been as diligent as I should be. So thankful for her and her genuine care for my teeth. Now my dentist; Dr. Wheeler. He is incredible. My most recent experience with him was bar none! My sister and I both came in for an appointment the week after Christmas. I had my dog with me so my sister sat in the car with him during my appointment and the plan was to switch when it was her turn. But I had a cavity and knowing I wouldn't be back in Arkansas for months Dr. Wheeler offered to fill my cavity right then (during his lunch, no less) I declined as I had my dog but knowing he is not only highly trained but also a registered ESA, he let me have him sit at my feet while he filled my cavity... still on his lunch break! The people at this office have watched me grow up, treat me like family, take such excellent care of my teeth, and have always gone above and beyond! I had to pop on and leave them 5 stars and recommend them to anyone looking for oral care in the river valley or driving distance! I love them! read more

Horrible place. They did my braces and D E S T R O Y E D my teeth. I had to get silver caps on my back molars because when they took off the brackets my teeth were falling apart. The Orthodontist I had was also so hateful and rude. I had this done in 2006-7 and I still remember how horrible they were. I'm still to this day paying for what he did to my mouth!! I feel sorry my parents paid so much money for braces and then my teeth ended up having to have so much work on them and still do. I wouldn't recommend this staff to ANYONE!!!!!! every time I drive by the location it brings me back such bad memories. I'm pretty positive Dr. Duff was the one who put my braces on and he is still there. read more

Like a lot of people, I have a fear of going to the dentist, mainly because of the needles. I haven't gone for many years until a tooth started giving me so much grief, I new I would have to go. I looked at reviews online for at least 15 dental offices before deciding on Monarch. I was impressed by the reviews and the hours they were open to care for their patients. Most dental offices had very short work weeks and limited hours, and I wanted to go to one that cared enough to have longer hours. I saw Dr. Wheeler and will continue to see him. He went over the x-rays with me patiently explaining the good and bad things. The staff was wonderful. While going over my options and trying to stretch my dental insurance as far as possible, they kept checking costs for me each time I asked. Because of finances, I decided to have the tooth extracted rather than root canal & crown. I need other procedures, & this option lets me stretch the insurance in more directions. Back to the tooth extraction; Dr. Wheeler put something on my gums before he gave me 2 shots. Only one of them caused some discomfort, but just a few seconds, probably because of it being behind the tooth toward the roof of my mouth. After just a bit, Dr. Wheeler came back in to check and it was numb. He calmly told me what he was doing, and other than a few creaking noises and a small amount of pressure, my tooth was out. They went over what I needed to do to take care of the extraction site making sure I understood. Going in next month for a major cleaning before anything else is done. Will do an update after each procedure I have coming up. Hopefully, every experience will be a positive one. read more

If I could give zero stars for this place i would. First off the whole staff has been extremely rude to me. God forbid you cant have an opinion about your own teeth. Dr. Duff had me in braces for 5 years in my jr. High years leading up into my senior year. He is just a general dentist and does ortho. I had to find out the hard way after i did my research because being so young, my mom sought out treatment for me. After my treatment i was still not satified with my results, however I accepted what was and told myself when the time comes ahian in my twenties, I will seek out treatment once again. So there I was at 27 years old looking to have someone look,at me again for best treatment. I went to Dr. Duffs office and he offered to take me in. In fact he insisted because i had been a patient of his before & it would have cost half of what other orthos were charging.BIG MISTAKE of my life!! I would NEVER recommend this dentist to do ortho on again. From the way I was treated frombthe get go was very unprofessional and i wouldn't want anyone going through thr same ezperience as i did. You pay money out of pocket to have a procedure done, yet you cant have a say on how your traeatment goes. This is not a trial and error thing. This is someones health and facial correction you are dealing with. Time and time again i gave my inputs on what i wanted to fix with my overbite and he always seem to have the upperhand. If it wasnt noted in the charts, he wasnt addressing it. Well, sometimes the assistants forgot to note things and he made it seem like i made things up out of thin air. I had mentioned my midline is off and he used a dental floss to check my midline & I asked him is thrre a more accurate way he could measure using specific measurements and basically it esculated from there. My last visit was actually today and he basically refused further. treatment and now I am having to seek another ortho. Can you imagine the position he put me in? Anyway. HORRIBLE experience. NEVER AGAIN. He refused to even continue our conversation & that left me to talk to the recpetionist whom had no idea what was going on. Very rude & unprofessional the way i was treated today. Please if anyone is seeking ortho treatment i would highly prefer a ortho. NOT a general dentist that offers ortho services. read more
