The people at the counter are always friendly and helpful. There are a lot of little cubbies filled with different vendors' stock and each one is different, so I take the time to go through the whole store, including both upstairs areas, every time. The only very minor downside is the parking. It's tight, and you have to back out onto Broad Street. As Broad is never very busy, it's not a problem, but nervous parkers may want to park across the street.

These kind of things happen no biggy so we did what we do & of course looked for an antique store to scavenge around for a bit! We headed to Holly Michigan what a charming town & we were blessed finding The Vintage Farm House whom also owns Blue Willow Exchange right in the most adorable small town! This extraordinary antique store does not disappoint & also has the most kind owners. They closed at 6pm & we had arrived at 5:20pm knowing we had just a smidge of time we quickly were running through hoping to see everything when the owner so kindly said take your time I have plenty more to do before she closed down for the night. The store itself was incredible and so reasonably priced. The lay out was lovely & the feel of autumn/Halloween filled my little fall heart walking through each sellers booth. As a gal that antiques often I am aware that many antique stores are going to smell stale and vintage. Nope not this one it's so clean and has all sorts of soft fall like smells throughout the entire store. While checking out we got to chat with both owners & they were kind enough to share some history of their town, movies that had been filmed there, upcoming festivals, & so on! Needless to say we will be making the 2HR 30Min drive back in November/December for the Dickens Festival that they kindly informed us about after telling them how much I adore the Holiday Season! Please do yourself a favor & go check out this charming, kind, hidden gem right in Holly Michigan! I promise you that you won't be disappointed. Cute furnishings shop, but definitely too crowded to be able to look around for more than a hot…read moreminute. My husband and I were here during "Small Business Saturday" weekend in November. This tiny little shop (and I mean TINY) was abuzz with customers jockeying around trying to look at the merchandise. It was so crowded, it was practically impossible. At first, I thought the place was packed. In truth, there were probably only six people inside, but it was at least four too many. This store is small! There's really only room for two shoppers at most during any given moment. It's a shame because the shop is cute. They sell a lot of "upcycled" and DIY steampunk creations. If you know anything about steampunk style, you realize the amount of ingenuity, craftsmanship and creativity necessary to bang this stuff out and, furthermore, you can appreciate it for being art. The stuff is lovely, unusual and well-crafted- and highly breakable. Honestly, I didn't feel terribly comfortable navigating all of that fragile gear and I'm tiny. What the heck would one do if they weren't so small? My 6"4 husband felt compelled to wait it out on the sidewalk while I was shopping. That was probably a good idea. He felt claustrophobia coming on, anyway, and he isn't claustrophobic in the least bit (until he set foot in this store, so there's that). I was so afraid of accidentally knocking something over that it spoiled the mood to shop. I was interested in a piece of two because I like steampunk design and the small sculptures/art, tables, lamps and other decorative pieces looked really interesting, but it was impossible to turn around. They simply had too much stock on the floor and not enough room to walk, let alone browse. I found that to be a turnoff. I couldn't even bend over or turn around very well to look for the price tag on a side table that I liked. I think think the store could be better served if they removed just a tad bit of merchandise off the floor, making a little leg room instead of trying to capitalize on their limited space by stocking the place to the brim. It was simply too tight and not at all inviting. It's just simply not pleasant to shop that way. If I'm walking around a crowded estate sale with everything strewn all over the place, that's one thing. This is different. If the management had bothered to remove just one side table toppling over with additional merchandise from the sales floor, it might have made all the difference. As for customer service, there really was none of which to speak. The lady behind the counter seemed disinterested in the customers and ignored two people attempting to grab her attention. I watched them leave in disgust. I was tempted to ask her for the price of that little table that I thought was so adorable, but she didn't seem approachable, so I didn't bother. Perhaps she was overwhelmed by how crowded the store was with only half a dozen people shopping at any given moment? The few prices I could find seemed a bit on the higher end, but this was downtown Holly and the "upcycled" steampunk gear could be considered art, so it didn't seem out of line with my expectations. I would probably give this place another shot, but it would have to be pretty much devoid of other shoppers in order to have a better shopping experience next time.

It's the best place around to buy housewarming gifts, decor for your home. Every time I stop in, I leave feeling inspired to make my home a little more beautiful. Downstairs has a bare-bulb basement richly accenting the schooner charts, garden ornaments in rubbed metals, and other accents with a definite late 1800s sensibility. What you'll find here ranges in price from $5 to several thousand, depending on the size of the pieces. The light fixtures for desktops, tables, and wall mounts are truly spectacular on a broad scale, though they cost anywhere from $250 - $1,000 depending on just how many bells, whistles, dials, and literal additions you need in your life. Considering each of these pieces is probably one of a kind and constructed of durable, lasting materials, you're getting your money's worth for a signature piece in the living room, dining room or whatever chamber you decide to grace. My beau was nearly drooling over one of those gearbox pieces that turns on by spinning dials and twirling segmented handles, and I don't blame him. For those looking for small gifts, you can pick up pretty household goods for a song. They carry a line of Detroit-based soaps that are mouthwatering, and it was all I could do not to snarf one down to likely bad results. For our hipster friends, a full line of beard-grooming products will not go unappreciated, and for the ladies, they offer jewelry with a distinct if delicate homage to steampunk and industrial stylings that nevertheless offer not a goggle or crystal-cut lens in sight.
