2nd visit here. I have enjoyed both visits. Food is good and the staff are friendly. Nothing to complain about. We'll be back.

We walked in an there was nobody around for about 5 min then the owner stopped by but didn't take our drink order or anything. Another around 5 and she took our drink order and after that service was fine. So we ordered the onion and garlic dip that was ok the chip things were very hard but ok. Then salad it was decent and not too much dressing yay. But then on to the entrée I got the Tuscan chicken my wife got the ribs. The ribs are "western style" not horrible and the sauce was ok but the Tuscan chicken. I've had Tuscan chicken and I'm fairly sure onions and green peppers with cheese over it isn't Tuscan chicken and the chicken was dry. Then the sides my meal was supposed to come with rice pilaf I got smashed red potatoes that were ok but no what I ordered. My wife who was supposed to get my potatoes got fries, they were good but not what was ordered. As we were ready to leave things got busy and it took a bit to get our check and food boxed but can't really complain about that. Over all it wasn't a good experience and I would recommend to the chef to research Tuscan chicken which I know to be more of a wine based sauce over chicken and note the western style ribs as most restaurants serve a rack is all. I am willing to go back to try their sandwiches and wraps but dinner service needs improvement.

One of the better places in Defiance to catch lunch. I would say it's a play on the Panera theme…read more Decent sandwiches and salads, nice variety and good quality.. Service can be a bit sketchy when busy otherwise ok. Nice restaurant environment. Cozy

Kissner's is a true Defiance staple--the oldest tavern in Ohio still owned by one family--and it…read moreshows in the warmth, consistency, and quality they've delivered for 95 years. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or late-night munchies, the full-service menu genuinely has something for everyone, from classic omelets to more adventurous options like pork brain. The ambience is part of the charm--it still has that same old flair, giving the space a nostalgic, welcoming feel that reflects its long history without feeling dated. I especially loved the little touches, like the coat and purse holders on the wall--if you blink, you might miss them (they were hidden under garland, lol). I had the Sizzling Boys Steak Hoagie with light onions and mushrooms, plus a side of Cheddar Cheese Curds--all excellent. Halfway through my meal, I couldn't resist stealing my partner's bacon and adding it to my hoagie... OMG, it took the flavor to the next level. Highly recommend that upgrade. Jake went with two French toasts, eggs, bacon, and waffle fries (subbed for home fries) and was just as impressed. The food was delicious across the board, and our waiter--whose name I unfortunately don't remember--was amazing and incredibly attentive. Great service, great food, and a timeless atmosphere--Kissner's absolutely lives up to its reputation.

This old school Greek Diner in Defiance is a worthwhile stop for a very good meal. Located in an…read moreeast side commercial area in a standalone building on the corner of a strip plaza, it's not difficult to find. The exterior looks nice enough and the spacious interior is comfortable and pleasant though not elaborate. We were seated right away and our server attended to us quickly. She did a very good job during our entire visit as she was efficient and attentive but not intrusive. We had our 3-year-old granddaughter with us and they were able to accommodate her with no problem, which was greatly appreciated. The menu offered plenty of options. They seemed at the core to be a Greek Diner with several characteristic offerings you'd expect from such a place. But they also featured plenty of American Midwest-style comfort food as well. My wife tried the Beef and Noodles special that took us back to the type of thing we ate as kids. She ordered that in part because it was something our granddaughter would eat, but she also enjoyed it as well given her proclivities toward such dishes. I opted for the Greek portion of their menu with a Famous Gyro Salad. It was also a very solid choice with good Gyro meat and fresh vegetables accompanied by equally fresh pita. It was all very good. I'll also note that the coffee was decent, which I can't always say for these types of diners. The prices were very reasonable. Overall with food, drinks, tax and tip, we were able to stay at about $14 - $15 per adult. This is not bad at all for dinner by today's standards and I was quite happy with the value. We would not hesitate to try this place again should the opportunity arise.
