Roast leg of Patcham Lamb: I was feeling adventurous and got the lamb, but the other two options sounded equally appetizing. The lamb came out quickly and was very moist, it came with a very tasty mint sauce that resembled a chimichurri which was better than I expected because most of my experiences with mint sauces and jellies tend to be overly minty and sweet. The leg of Lamb was served with roasted potatoes, and braised carrots, parsnips, & Broccoli/Broccolini served over a tart herb gravy with hints of rosemary. The potatoes were pretty good, with a thick crust and fluffy interior. (Think home-fries but larger and a crispier crust.) The veggies were just as tasty and complimented this hearty dish. My favorite part of Sunday Roasts is the Yorkshire pudding. For those of you who don't know what Yorkshire Pudding is, its not a dessert but a delicate bread that has a golden oven kissed exterior with a soft delicate interior similar to a pastry. However Yorkshire Pudding is not sweet, just an interesting type of bread with a misleading name. My yorkshire pudding was a bit dark, but still delicious. I almost ate it all before I realized I might need it to soak up the rest of the gravy! Craft Beer Co. has a wide range of brews from tap to cask to keg, even wine and spirits. I ordered a pint of the Slovinian India Brown Ale (6.5%) to have with my roast which was pretty good, it had a malty & bitter flavor profile. Interesting in that most of the cask ale's I have had in England are not usually bitter. It didn't pair how I wanted it to with my meal, but that was my own fault. The staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly, just what you'd want for a sitdown meal. I hope to return again, the area has a wonderful park nearby so you can take a nap after you gorge yourself on roast and ale.
