When it came time to have the carpet installed, the guys from Venezuela working for them seemed nice and were respectful even though there was a significant language barrier. There were times when one of them did an awful lot of gabbing on the phone instead of working, however, as long as the carpet was installed both upstairs and down in a relatively timely manner, I didn't care. Simply an observation. The trouble came whenever I needed to have something corrected. The woman who normally answered the phone almost always seemed put out, exasperated, and just generally poor behaviour. I'm still scratching my head as to why she would even choose a customer svc position because she was just miserable. The closet doors in the basement that needed to be fixed because the installers put them back incorrectly never got fixed. The threshold going from the hallway into the upstairs bathroom was never fixed, so still looked quite ratchet when we left. Lastly, there was a spot on the stairs that was not carpeted and remains as such because the house sold. When I say we made several phone calls to get these issues corrected, I mean SEVERAL. All I can say is GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Even though they might be able to save you a few pennies or possibly even work with you on payment, it is NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION. The reason they rcvd two stars...their installers were kind and friendly, not for any other reason.

Buyer Beware!!!!!!!…read more This was a very simple 14x18 carpet replacement. Our main concern, from the beginning, was that we didn't want a visible seam and wanted a 14' wide carpet to prevent problems. We were assured that no seam would be seen. Well, after paying $1,600, during the install my wife and I voiced concerns about the visible seam and we were assured that it was just the lighting that was causing things to look that way. Surprisingly the next day the seam was still there!!! It didn't disappear!! We contacted and finally went back into the store and discussed the matter along with showing pictures to them and they agreed that this was poor workmanship and that the owner would come out and look at the install and make a plan to make it right. Three days later the owner did drop by and looked at the carpet. He said that it was really bad and that there was an easy fix. He asked if he could come out with another crew in the next couple of days and get it fixed. We welcomed them any time. The owner told me that the original installers would not be the ones to repair the carpet unless he was there to show them how to make the repair. This all sounded great. Weeks go by and no repair. The original installer came by without calling several times and no one was home. Finally the original installer shows up and wanted to fix the carpet. Luckily my wife is fluent in Spanish and was able to let him know that we were assured that his boss was going to be with him when he fixed the carpet. He came in, looked at the carpet and left. The office told us that we refused to let him inside our home and told him to go away. Totally false!!! All we want is our carpet to not have a huge seam down the side of our living room. After playing phone tag with the office we finally went back down to the showroom and spoke to the salespeople. They said the owner was out of town for 2 weeks, December 13, and that he would call us and arrange a time to fix this. It is now December 28th. They are not going to call or repair this carpet. We were trying to help a local business and what we got was an amateur install, and get accused of being rude to people. If anyone wants more information, send me an email. 44alanlawson@gmail.com

Unfortunately they did not level the floor before install so we ended up with boards slipping and separating from each other all over. After contacting Factory Flooring they did offer to come back in and redo the floor correctly. We were impressed and grateful even with having to remove everything from the basement for a second time. We had them come back and do a main floor laminate install a couple years later. Those floors have held up so far (no separating or other issues) I believe our first installer no longer works for them. Anyway, here we are again.....We went in and had a new flooring install scheduled for our top floor for today and tomorrow. We were told the installer would be here by 10 instead 3 hours later they are a no show. Not a single person, neither the installer or someone from Factory Direct called about any kind of delay. I called Factory Direct and was given the excuse of "truck problems" Take that as you will. I'm frustrated with the inconsistency of this company. I am no longer sure if this is a company I would recommend to other people. We spent literally our entire day killing ourselves to prep for an install today and now we will be without an office or bedroom for at least an extra day. If you've ever re-done your floors you know what a huge inconvenience this all is. All I can say is our floors better be perfect and hopefully they're more considerate of their clients in the future.

He quoted us 3.25$ per square foot including pad and installation. We were completely on board before they came out to "measure" our less than 700 square foot basement. Now the math is 3.25 x 700=2275. Then you figure in some random crap that they need and you end up paying 2500-2700 right? Nope mark sends us a quote with the math 3.25 x 900=3600$. So he thinks his installer is going to have 200 square feet of waste... that is 28% waste ratio. Now let's move back to his math. 3.25x900 actually equals 2925. Oops I guess I wasn't supposed to be good at math. My bad. That means that on top of the 28.5% waste ratio he is charging 675$ in random nonsense hidden fees. Hard pass buddy.

We found a floor plan we loved and selected the interior/exterior materials. The GTM team was great at helping us get our house sold (for what we were asking for it) and we ended up living with family for 3 weeks while we waited for the new house to be competed. It was slated to be compete in 90 days and I thought that would be a stretch, but even with bad storms this winter,we still closed on time. Rocky, who has some experience in building was impressed with the quality of workmanship all through the house. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the job site all through the building process. The contractors are very careful not to leave building waste around and take pride in a clean construction site. We closed and moved in exactly on schedule and after being in our house for a couple weeks now, I am still impressed with the little "extras" that are included in the base price of the house and not an upgrade that would be the case with another builder. Thanks again GTM - it was great working with you and a very smooth transition. I would highly recommend their team to anyone who is looking to build.

(Little did I know that she had been looking into GTM Builders for quite awhile) We stopped in and were greeted by Seth. He took us on a tour of the Model and we went over all the great features they have as standard items (which are upgrades to most all other builders). We fell in love with the Leah! However, there were a few things that just didn't sit right with my wife about the layout of the floor plan so she started piecing together some ideas for changes. We presented those changes and Matt was more than willing to work up a new design for us that included those changes. We are Very pleased with the final result! Quality work from the start! After moving in and meeting people from the community, we tell them where we live and the response is usually, "Oh, the house with the BEAUTIFUL back window! I LOVE that Window!" We love it too! Highly recommend GTM Builders if you are considering buying a new home. They have been a joy to work with and we LOVE our new home!
