This is a review of TCF in general. They sent out a letter a month in advance that they were…read morechanging online banking systems. The letter stated the system would be down from July 20th to the 24th. That was fine and they said to make sure any automatic payments were adjusted to make sure they did not fall in that time period. Pretty simple and easy to do. Now here is reality I have had at least 4 payments missed. This has caused me to be charged late fees and interest. Now here is the part that makes it worse. They shut the system down on the 18th not the 20th with no warning, no one at TCF can even tell me why it was closed early. I have been told they were having major issues and they did not have a date when it would be back up. I have been with TCF for over 10 years and like some people liked the Sunday hours and when they stopped being open on Sunday I was disappointed. But I was not going to change banks. With this problem not being able to pay bills for over 6 days and having at least 2 $3,000.00 bills not be paid. I decided to change banks. I was able to take 5k out of my TCF account in cash open an account at another bank and pay my credit card bill the same day. I did try calling TCF but by phone they had no answer to any questions as far as why it was shut down early and when it would be back up. I wanted to email TCF but then found that TCF does not have ANY email addresses you can use. There is a contact us page which I used twice with no response. I then turned to Facebook and they do answer questions there but ask you to send a PM now first I don't use Facebook so have no idea how to PM soomeone but why can't they PM me? They also seem unable to provide any answers as to when the system will be back up and why it closed early. If you search for TCF bank review online you will find lots if reviews, most 2 stars or less. They just could care less about there customers.

I only cancelled my account because at the time, there were no branches or fee-free ATMS in the Denver area. After 20 years in exile in CA, and moving back to Denver, I thought I would open a new account with Ent as I had been happy with them when I was a previous member. There was an issue signing up via the web, so I came to this location as it is the closest to me, but still a bit of a drive. I arrived before noon. When I said I wanted to open an account, I was asked to come back after one because the teller I was speaking with was going to lunch. This was about fifteen minutes before noon. He also suggested I could go to a different Ent location. I explained I had driven nearly half an hour to get there, and he didn't care. He just insisted that he and a co-worker were leaving for lunch at noon and I had to go to another branch or come back later. I told him then that this was horrible customer service.
