I have had nothing but great experiences with this office. Staff is very good, very helpful. Love my visits and always feel satisfied

There is one person at the front desk that is horrible. She is rude. Cuts you off when you ask a question. And then hangs up on you. MID SENTENCE. I called back and spoke to someone else that was very helpful. Answered my questions in a polite fashion. Hard to believe that the same office can produce two very different "customer service" front desk types. I have never been spoken to in this manner by a doctor's office representative. on 11/13/25 at 4:30 pm from the Neptune office 732 774 8282 a women from the schedule department called me to tell me Melissa jonhson wouldn't be there for my appt and had to cancel. We tried to reschedule but none of the dates (mind you we only went back and forth through about 5) I could make it to and we were going into January. I asked her about the original date she had said & the women goes, the one you said you can't make it to?" Rudely. Ultimately I ask her to refill my medication I desperately need and she gets nasty and says she's the scheduling department. Obviously you incompetent, short tempered idiot. I can't wait until January for this medicine when I had my appointment scheduled way in advance. She couldn't handle doing her job and explaining let me try to get you an appointment first as this wasn't even my fault so she transferred me abruptly. You're dealing with people who have brain and other neurological disorders, have some compassion. Clearly I'm not the only person with issues with the staff either! This seems to be an ongoing problem at both locations which is a shame. Try working at McDonald's, it might fit your personality better you loser. I wish I got your name. read more

terrible person doing the scheduling should not deal with people maybe your her filing after i received the appointment for 9:30 i received just an text saying my appointment was at 9:30 got there 9:25 was told i was late i said no i satvfien started filling my name then another person had all my cards did the nurse practitioner could not see me ands she was rescheduling me i said never mind because i went there because it was something important i had amnesia for over three hours it hour falling or anything and im concerned.Im very happy never to go back rather die in a ditch than have people without any concern for others play doctor ! horrible people !!!! i had to give them one star because the humans were breathing ! read more

Called office on February 10 2025 to inquire about EMG test and consult. Spoke to friendly, helpful staff that first consult was available March 4, and EMG test in May. I said ok thank you, that's a little too far out; I will check around because my orthopedist recommended EMG asap, that I would call back if necessary. I did't receive any further correspondence until a missed phone call from their office Monday night March 3rd, with no message left. On Friday March 7th I received a $100 no show bill for a missed appointment on March 4, which I never made. Interesting how they never sent me info on pre-registration, online intake, or didn't leave a message reminder if they had me scheduled for an appointment. I called Monday 3/10 to inquire how a mistaken appointment was made. Sorry to say, spoke to Chris who quickly became defensive and rude, never acknowledging how a mistake MIGHT have been made by their staff. I acknowledged that I might have mistaken who I spoke with, I wrote down Judy; he said no one there by that name. He said he would discharge the amount, however, if I ever planned on going there I would still be charged $50 no show fee. My punishment ? Haha. I asked if he could simply acknowledge that a mistake might have been made on their end. He wouldn't. There are plenty of neurology places. "Business goes where it's needed and stays where it's appreciated". Well not appreciating people is a good way to keep business away! Too bad we didn't read all the negative reviews before we made our son's appointment. What my husband and I are upset about is the principal of the situation. We had an office appointment with the Doctor on Monday, December 30, 2024 to review the results of the Neuropsycological testing that was done by a Neuropsycologist.Our son took off the day from work.That morning we received a call that the Doctor would not be available and our appointment was cancelled.(Too bad we as patients have no recourse to bill the Doctors for when they call at the last minute to cancel appointment.) A telephone appointment was made for the next day late in the afternoon to discus the results of his EKG, MRI, and the Neuropsychologist Evaluation. The telephone call was a waste of time. The Doctor did not have any of the current reports in front of him. He was going over old reports. The end result is that we were billed for this wasted call. We pay all our bills and our credit status is excellent. Spoke to the Office Manager on January 13,2025 to relay situation, she said she would speak to Dr. Waited for a return call. Called again and was told she is out of office until next week. Left a message still no return call. Finally got thru to a woman from the appointment desk I asked to speak to Office Manager and was rudely told she would not speak to me and abruptly hung the phone up. This is not a matter of the money, we would be more than happy to pay the co-pay. It s a matter of how we were treated and that we Did Not receive the service to warrant payment!!! read more

I wish l would have read the reviews of 2 stars before l came. I had Gretchen Peter's the P.A.l am 70 years old and have had neuropathy since l was in my 40s. She did not do a neuropathy exam which l have had many of. She just had be follow her finger and squeeze her hands. This is not the exam they do for neuropathy of the feet. I told her the meds l have taken and she went out for 2 mins. To talk to the Dr. And offered me medical Marijuana. She was very unpleasant and with 6 drs. There l didn't see one. My dr. Asked me how it went l told her and she said she will not send any of her patients there. Please don't waste your time going there.l will now be going to a different neurologist.​​ read more

Disrespectful. Rude. Condescending. Arrogant. These words not only describe Dr. Martino but the staff at both the Brick and Neptune office. It is simply baffling that these offices remain open. We visited the Neptune office for the first time in the beginning of June after my mother suffered a stroke in March. During this visit, Dr. Martino directed my mother to undergo more testing, including a second MRI. She underwent those tests, and in July, at the doctor's request, we delivered her two MRI disks to their Brick office so he could compare her two MRIs. The week of July 17th Dr. Martino called my mother and promised to call her the following week once he had compared the two disks. That phone call never came. We placed NUMEROUS phone calls to both the Brick and Neptune office to get my mom's results; we were first told Dr. Martino would call back, but he never did. More than that though, each time we called, the staff was rude and dismissive - we were then told we would only get results if something was wrong. Finally, we had an appointment on September 7th. Dr. Martino came into the room chomping on candy, cold and cavalier. He had very little information for us; even asked my mom what hospital her stroke was in (it was in the one where he is Stroke Director). When I asked about the disks I was told that the office does not keep disks there - no one could tell us what happened to the disks we dropped off, and now it's up to us to replace my mom's disks This is completely inexcusable. How does an office lose a patient's disks?? This staff should not be in roles where they work with the public, with patients no less. Uncaring, not concerned for a patient's well-being, and simply there to earn a paycheck. I urge you to read the rest of the reviews - we cannot all be wrong when it comes to this doctor and the staff at these two offices. DO NOT waste your time with Monmouth-Ocean Neurology - keep researching and save yourself what will undoubtedly be a waste of time and unnecessary aggravation. read more

Had appt today went there and they cancelled appt saying they don't take Aetna. I was here before for a test in December and they took it. They never called me to cancel. I took off work lost money and they would not take me. I was referred there because of the test results and was found to have major issue. Front desk did not care, and was very mean and rude and told me to go somewhere else their doctors would never see me. I was crying hysterically and they did not care. I asked for test results report and they would not give me and told me go online and ask for the 1 piece of paper. the office reflects the kind of doctors they are and glad I did not get involved, I dodged a bullet. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 star rating is that it takes a long time to get an appt. (which is not unusual in specialty groups). But I find the staff and my doctor, B. Flynn, to be very competent, professional and caring. I have been there a few times, had one short EEG and one 48 hour EEG as well as two -soon to be 3- consultations. No complaints. read more

The most rude, inflexible, incompetent reception staff I have ever dealt with in all my years. They do not provide accurate information as to when doctors will be in. If you call to get information regarding results or authorization, they cut you off and send you to the desk of Bianca, who is egregiously overworked as she completes authorizations for 8 doctors; therefore she is rarely able to answer the phone. The reception staff is fully aware of this, but they rudely cut you off and "transfer" you to her, where are you get repetitively dumped into the black hole of her voicemail. They have no urgency or desire to help patients in any way at all. They show zero compassion and humanity. Go to any other neurology office. read more

My advice is to stay away from this group. Very disappointing and frustrating experience! From a doctor who just went through the motions at each visit, to NOT being able to get my medical records when I want to leave this group, this has been a horrible place to go to!!! One of the worst experiences I've had with a doctors office. The entire staff is dismissive, cocky and rude. Dr. B was distracted when she was assessing me and acted as if I was a nuisance. After a few appts I ordered my medical records to make sure everything was accurate. It took months of calling and doing my own research to finally track down the third party in charge of records. When I finally received them there were major discrepancies in my file. If you're seeking exceptional care from a professional that keeps good records then avoid this practice! read more

Worst place ever. Have been waiting for 8 weeks to get copies of my test results. Office staff stinks. Would never go back.

The reception staff are the most incompetent group of medical staff I have ever experienced. Any message that I ever needed to get to the doctor never gets to them. I had a major reaction to medication and it was never documented. Be prepared to deal with being put on hold and disconnected every time you call. The only good thing about this office is the minimal wait when you have an appointment but most likely because no other patients are able to make an appointment. read more

This is the worst doctors office I have ever dealt with. I tried to make a second appointment. Called the office for THREE DAYS they put me on hold every time for 20 minutes and then hung up on me. I will never use this practice again. After my first visit, I was scheduled for an EMG. On the day of the appointment, the office called to say the doctor was not coming in that day and I needed to reschedule. The next available date was a month later. I had been dealing with a nerve impingement for nearly 5 months and this news was devastating. The person I spoke with was not especially interested in my plight. When I went to the appointment, the doctor administering the test was competent but distant. She barely spoke to me other than to give directions. I was apprehensive about the test so it would have been helpful if she had been kinder and more understanding. When I went to the orthopedist, the neurology office had not bothered to send the report so I had to wait 45 minutes while the receptionist called to convince them to send the report. read more

I have been a patient since 2004 of Dr. Stephen Martino. After having a tumor removed from my brain in 2003, which left me having seizures that were out of control. And going from medication to medication and in and out of hospitals because of them. I finally found Monmouth Ocean Neurology. The offices are busy at times but I have never had a bad experience with anyone in the office. Or making an appointment. All office staff have always been very professional and taken care of calling in my prescriptions promptly as well as dealing with me being a nervous, anxious patient during seizures. I have had to be hospitalized because of frequent seizures and Dr. Martino helped me find a medication that has finally put my seizures at bay. He has never been a Dr. that ignores my concerns he sits and listens to them and addresses them with the care he would expect from his own Dr's. I would recommend him to anyone that needed a Neurologist happily. read more

This is a very busy office, but the staff goes out of its way to be accommodating. Health insurance and healthcare is a complicated business, but the staff at Monmouth Ocean Neurology helped me with my claim and directed me to an MRI facility that was in my network. The authorization was handled quickly, and I was able to get a very quick follow-up visit. My doctor was very kind and knowledgeable and was able to prescribe the most effective medication to help my headaches. I would not hesitate to recommend Monmouth Ocean Neurology to anyone! read more
