Ordered tires from Amazon. They had an option to have them delivered and installed at a specific shop close to home. Amazon had me pick three times lots and sent it over to Monro. Monroe approved the timeslot. Fast forward seven days 20 minutes before my appointment time the store manager calls and changes it from 8 AM to 10 AM. When I called the gentleman said we spoke to the call center and not his shop. I explained to him I didn't talk to anybody. It was all done and verified by Amazon in your call center. Clearly the reason I got bumped was because I did not buy the tires from Monroe, I will never get service at one of these shops again. read more

I had a bad experience with my brakes at a local dealership and brought my car to Monro where they were able to replace my brakes and for a fraction of the cost of the dealer. Every person was polite and helpful there. The manager explained everything they were doing. I will definitely be returning. read more

Terrible experience. I was charge $100 to check engine light, not told I would be charged this beforehand. Mechanics damaged o-ring, lost a door panel worth $100, and did not fix issue with engine light - the whole reason I went there in the first place. $2000 later, I had to take the car to another garage to get it repaired. read more

My son is a college student in OH and had to get his NYS inspection in NY. He made a day trip to Fredonia to take care of it and received fantastic customer service at Monro. After a problem came up with his tire, they helped him get a new one, worked as quickly as possible to do the tire change and inspection and even talked to us on the phone to explain what they had found. We appreciate the care they showed for a young guy in a tough spot!! read more

We used to love coming here for our car repairs as I said in my previous post, they showed us what was wrong and they would fix it and they were pretty fair. About a year ago, a new manager took over and I went in for a flat tire and left paying about $500.00 in fixes and they told me my car was 'so rusted' on the bottom(it's not, I have it treated yearly) I went there one more time for a oil change and they again tried to do unnecessary work on it and said 'there is no way my car would pass inspection and it was dangerous to drive" I took my business else where. I baby my cars. And if you're wondering, one month later, at another body shop, my car passes inspection with no additional work needed. This new manager is a shady guy and will do unnecessary work. I am in amazement about how I was treated at this location. I have worked with variations of this chain over the last 20 years in Flanders, NJ and they have done a great job. When my son broke down in the middle of an intersection in Fredonia I was relieved to know there was a local Mr tire. What a disappointment!! Had my rack and pinion replace and came to Monro to have an alignment done. They damaged the boot in the process on a new part. I seen the part and the work done and there was no damage until after Monro did the alignment. Took it back to them and they unraveled the boot but said the tear couldn't have been from them. Doesn't make sense but I wouldn't trust them to replace it anyways since they damaged it and didn't want to take responsibility. read more

I went in to get my summer tires put on my car and the service was poor and they told me I needed brake pads in the rear end they were absolutely done if I kept driving I would ruin the rotors. I said ill talk with my Fiancée about it and ill make an appointment later. I took it to Midas in Dunkirk and the pads were fine I had half of the pad still left and the rotors were fine also. Monroe is a horrible place if I could do negative stars I would they are theifs and I don't trust them at all. read more

Fredonia SUNY avoid this shop. This Monro is a rip off. The manager saw a young woman and decided to take as much money as he could. Instead of changing a simple brake line, $50; he said he couldn't loosen the bleeder to bleed the system. This resulted in a $700 brake job. I was a mechanic years ago and confirmed with two mechanics, you just heat the bleeder to free it up. Also, Ford Escape brakes are no more than $165. His labor was $550 for a less than two hour brake job. read more

Went to Midas in Fredonia, NY for a new muffler because in under 2 years, the one they put on blew out big time. Just wanted a new muffler. They proceeded to tell me I needed the pipe in front all the way to the Y and a tailpipe. I just wanted a muffler. But that is apparently the draw. Get you in for your free muffler and overcharge you on the other stuff. I reluctantly agreed to get the pipes done. Was charged a 55 DOLLAR FLAT LABOR FEE ON THE TWO PIPES. PLUS 55 GENERAL LABOR. 165 bucks and the whole job took 20 MINUTES!!!! Not to mention the extremely over inflated price of the pipes. Will not go back after the warranty period. Ever again. Very unfair. Manager told me "we have to pay the heat and electric you know". And one of their lifts was broken, so I suppose had to help pay for the maintenance on that. read more

Horrible service. If you are a female, don't go here. All garages are horrible but this one is the worst. I had a bad feeling the second i walked in. I sat here for over a hour just for them to tell me what parts I needed but only after I chased them down to ask. During that hour, I watched my vehicle's brake system be inspected for 20 min then sit for an additional 40 minutes. In that time not once was I approached to be told what was wrong with my vehicle. Then it continued to sit on the lift without service so i asked the mechanic how much longer it would take. After being told another hour and 30 minutes (after the parts arrive,) I asked him to put my tires back on so i could take it elsewhere to be fixed. Only then did the useless manager tell me the parts were on their way and that he would assist to get the job done faster. He of course did not assist. They never ask me what work i was willing to pay for. They took it upon themselves to order parts that i never agreed to. I also was never given an estimate. I do believe they were going to rip apart my entire brake system without telling me until I spoke up. Next time, I will take my money to a real garage with a real mechanic read more
