I brought my SUV in for brakes at Hyannis Monro. Service was completed. I was driving on the highway to Maine and heard a loud noise in the rear. Pulled over, looked at the tire, missing 3 lug nuts and one more fell off, left with 1. Had to have car towed to Massachusetts for $400 and took to a mechanic. Monro had installed a faulty rotor which caused the lug nuts to break off while driving. This used to be a good service center but not any more. DO NO USE this service center. First of all the "manager" that greets you when you walk in says "yeah?" instead of hello. I told him I had an appointment. I wasn't in the computer. Had to explain that tires were delivered and needed to be replaced on my car. His response is "what tires? How many? 2?4?6?". I had to point, in his own shop, which tires fit on the car to which he wasn't sure if they would even fit. Once he realized they fit (because I ordered them specifically from Tirerack and unfortunately this place was my only choice) he asked when I wanted to get the car. I told him that the appointment was now. He then said "oh so you're waiting". This couple came in shortly after for an oil change, to which this "manager" had them cut me in line because he clearly wants to try to impress the woman. As they are changing the oil he stands in the waiting room eating a sandwich and talking about this customer's friends who are getting caught sleeping together. I literally felt like I was sitting in a torture chamber. It took TWO HOURS to put a new set of tires on. Meanwhile, this "manager" would sit in the front office cursing and making innuendo jokes to another customer that came in, right in front of the waiting room and other customers. The gentlemen that are working there are awesome. Very trust worthy and truthful. Could have charged me for a new uffler ($500) but found that the one I had was un warranty and replaced it for free. Corrected another issue for free. Can't say enough about the manager, Briar. He was very hands on with getting everything right snd and explained everything in detail. I called around the Hyannis area for a break job done on my car. I called Monro, the man on the phone gave me prices and right away. gave me an appointment right away. I dropped the car off, he called me through out the day giving me updates telling me one of the parts from Volkswagen was $600.00. He said he will call around and try to find it cheaper. He called me again said I found the part for $200.00. He not only took the time to call around but he was very pleasant. The break job is done. The car is driving great. Thank you ! BE CAREFUL!! Munro was kind enough to accommodate changing a damaged tire for us on a Sunday on short notice, and they quoted us one price for a tire they had in stock. When we returned to pay for the car, they had substituted a more expensive tire and claimed that the less expensive tire had been sold to another customer. We ended up paying much more than we initially agreed to pay, and they did not ask our permission to purchase the more expensive tire before they went ahead and installed it. It also took nearly twice as long to do the work as they had originally indicated. Took them two hours to mount and balance my new tires. Did not balance the the tires properly if at all. (steering wheel had the same vibrations as before) Overtorqued my lug nuts by 100 ft. lb. almost pulled my back trying to loosen them with a breaker bar. I would not trust this place with a rc car, it's only because they were the closest installer by TireBuyer.com and I "had" to choose one of theirs. Oil changes are something like $15 so you get an idea about the level of competency and quality as often you get what you pay for. They probably don't even change out the filters. Dennis (the one who worked on my car) offered another appointment date but it's a fool me twice situation. Rather pay another more capable establishment to get it right the first time. Front weights were off by 3 ounces and I have yet to know how far off the rears are. What was also odd was that all four tires with the manufacturer date were facing inward as if to conceal the date. Such friendly service and great hours. I was heading out to celebrate St. Paddy's on Sunday, and found a flat in my driveway due to a large construction sized staple in my tire. I had used them for an oil change in the past (great service then too!) and drove on my donut to ask them if they could patch up my tire and put it back on. I made an appointment online for an oil change, tire rotation and I had a dash light on I wanted looked at. I showed up for my appointment and the guy was squatting outside smoking. No greeting or anything. I wasn't even 100% sure he worked there. I told him I had an appointment. And for a second I didn't think he even heard me because he didn't even look at me. Just kept puffing on his cigarette. Finally he asked me what kind of plate I had on my car (I'm from out of state). He said he needed to finish his smoke first. So I went inside and sat down. Finally he came inside to get my information. Mumbling. Very clearly didn't want to be at work. He went out and did my oil change and then came in and said I was all done. I said "that was fast! Got a tire rotation and everything." He mumbled "oh... you needed a tire rotation ?" I said yes, that was included in the appointment I made. He said he would take the car back in and do it but at this point I was over it and ready to get out of there. The whole time I was in there I had to listen to them swear and complain about the management cutting hours. I absolutely will never be back. And I absolutely do not recommend anyone else go there. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. He did give me $10 off because he didn't do the tire rotation but that hardly made up for the feeling of my patronage not being wanted. read more

Last Friday was my First and LAST time using this service. At First every thing was great. After I had my oil change I chatted with the Tech, Peter, and then he said he was going to bring my car out and Douglas would ring me up. So as I am waiting for Douglas, he is on the phone talking with someone. I can see that they are watching something happen behind me. I turn around and my car is just outside the Bay, NOT IN A PARKING SPACE, and a Nissan Rogue is backing into my car and she slams into my driver side door area. I said to the guys did you just see that! They said yes, I asked what do you normally do about this. Douglas said," the the management says it is between the two of us so get out your phone out call the police". I asked them if they could call because I do not have a cell phone and they said NO. Then Pete, the guy who put the car there says I did not know anyone was in that car. Unbelievable! I go out to the car and a lady gets out of her car. I said look at what you did! She said, "I did not do that"! I said," You just hit my car"! She said," I did not see it there". I asked her to come inside and give me her insurance information and driver's license number. She said she did not have her purse with her. She did give me as much information as she could. As we are walking out of the office she says, " Why did you put the car there?" I said," I did not , the Tech did". She says," I saw you do it!" I am thinking OMG What kind of craziness is this? So I go to open the car door and it only opens about 4 inches. I go to the passenger side and that is locked. the key is in the car. I squeeze myself in to get the key. I head over to the lady sitting in the car now with dark glasses on and she will not roll down the window. When I finally got home and called the Police to report it they took the info but because they were not called to the scene they could not do anything. Beware! The right thing would have been to help and call the police for me or at least hand me the phone so I could have. read more

Very friendly service and great hours. Was heading to the beach on a Sunday, and found a screw in my tire. AAA helped me find a shop and this was one was one of the only ones open on the cape. Went in and asked them to patch up my tire and put it back on. Was a pretty busy day for them, but they had it done in an hour and didn't charge me! That's a good way to build trust. They are liars!I brought my wife's car in for a fan relay, got a call telling me I needed new spark plugs so I asked how much he quoted 500. so I told him to wait till I get back to him I wanted to check with the wife, he calls me back and says it's all done, I never gave him authorization and when I picked up the car I was at there mercy the manager basically called me a liar! I got dropped of so I was told they would put the old plugs back really! It is a 2 hour job so I told him no, left and the check engine light was still on! Call my cc and the sent me the money back but Munro pursued and Fn visa gave them the money back, I'm so BS!!!! read more

Walk-in brake repair on a Sunday on Cape Cod. I knew that my options were scarce for a Sunday. I made the right decision by going to Monroe. Dennis and Jeff gave excellent service. I had a frozen caliper on the passenger rear disc brake. Replaced the bad caliper and installed new discs and Pads. In addition, I also had an oil change service. I would recommend these guys. if possible try calling ahead to make an appointment or if you must walk in and do it early in the day because the shop gets booked up. read more

I think the motto for this location should be, "If isn't broke don't fix it." I stop in for an estimate for a serpentine belt replacement after another franchise told me the belt was ripped and needed to be replaced after my routine oil change. The mechanic checked my car promptly and told me all belts were fine and he could see that they were already replaced because he observed the belts came from Napa Auto Parts which reminded me I had the work done before. Two other members of my family encountered the same honesty and level knowledge when they brought their cars in whether it was a minor or major repair. A part was bent on one of my relatives' cars and instead of replacing the entire part, they simply fixed the existing one. If you value true mechanics that really know cars and parts and what's really necessary to keep a car in good working order, this is the place. read more

Showed up for my appt on time and was told that it would be quite a wait. I ask how long and manager (I think) tells me to call him in 1/2 hour to find out. Never mind, I'll come back tomorrow. Next day, I showed up on time and one hour later, the car is still waiting for tires to be put on. Just watching these work, it's apparent they have no clue about customer service. Today March 1st being a Sunday on Cape Cod my husband put air in our back tire that's 3 month's old cause tire light came on. We went and got air at a convenience store. Started down the road hear an aweful noise and were like " no way, not the f-ing tire " had to pull off in another convenience store. It was an absolute flat tire!! And we have our french bull dog puppies with us. Hubby changes to the dummy doughnut. Off we go. First tire place we go is closed. F#$k!! Now we Google it's not looking good on a Sunday to get a tire issue fixed.. Monro tire popped up. And it was literally 2 minutes from where we were!!! I had no clue there was even a Monro Tire and i have lived here my whole life. Humpff. We're off to find this place. Both silently praying it's gotta be open and they Were!! Next prayer..please let them plug the tire or it's an easy fix don't want to buy a new tire. Hubby goes right in. Next thing I know one of the bay doors is opening and guy with a huge smile on his face say's he needs to drive the car into the bay. I had explained i had two french bulldog puppies inside. His partner came outside. Both of the guys with happy huge smiles and joking about the dogs and how great they were. The guy got in my car and my puppy went nuts kissing him. I think i even saw the guy kiss my puppy back they took the car in fixed something to do with the valve due to the convenience stores air machine. And explained how to notice if there should be a problem with those machines again in the future. Those two guy's were awesomely happy. You could tell they liked what they do for work and their customer service was A+++. They turned what could have been a very sh$$ty Monday morning into a SAVE THE DAY SUNDAY!! those two guys rock and need a raise for real. I had an appointment at 12:30 and was the only customer there. After checking in for my oil change I had to wait 10 minutes for the one employee there to get off his cell phone to pull my car in. After he pulled my car in he spent a while walking around and not working on my truck. Another employee finally showed up after running errands in a customers car. This employee then spent 20 minutes talking with the Mac tool guy. Then left to do a store run. The other employee then came in the office and went on the computer and stopped working on my truck. He then had a 10 minute personal phone call. They rotated my tires but didn't do it right. They just moved the backs to the front to the back, but did not criss cross the front tires. My oil change took an hour in total. They also lost one of my lug nuts and replaced it with some generic nut that is open at the top.That is unacceptable, I will pay more for better service and will never use Monro again. read more

Not very happy with them.. couple incidents have prompted me to review this place poorly. I went in for their "9.99" oil change which includes tire rotation and break check up. I was guessing my front brakes needed some repairs so I thought it would be good for them to have a look. Once the appointment ended it came to $20 total (not 9.99) because they had to use more quarts of oil for my car and did not include "shop fee". Not a huge deal for me but not up front about costs is not good business practice.. bigger issue is that they did not say a word to me about my brakes so I assumed all is well. About week after appt, I received a flyer from them in mail suggesting that I was "informed" about my breaks needing to be repair and offered a promotional deal to come in and get them done.. thought that was odd since they made no mention of it and would call them on it. Next day, I drove to work (I work about 60 miles away in South Shore) and got off the highway. Just before I turned into the side street where my office was located my breaks gave way and could not stop the car. Fortunately I was able to pull over into emergency lane, take gas off pedal, put car in neutral and was able to guide my way into the office parking lot using the e brake to stop the car.. I have never been so scared in my life and thankfully this did not happen 5 mins previously on highway or else I would have a serious accident.. From there I had car towed to another mechanic in mid cape area who told me that front brakes were shot and needed full repair and if I had done this a few weeks ago it should have been much less costly.. (not to mention safer) so it appears they (Monroe) knew and either forget to mention it or did not mention at time of my service visit.. To make matters worse, my rear breaks needed pad/rotors and ironically I spent $750 two years ago at that same Monroe locations getting those done! So not sure why I needed them again so soon after getting those replaced.. So I am now having to spending 2K on the repairs when I should have spent much less if they (Monroe) told me about the front brakes earlier that month and did the rear breaks correctly.. not to mention putting my life at risk with not telling me the severity of the front brake issue.. these guys are fine for oil changes but would not go to them for any significant work to car. leave that to the better skilled mechanics who know their stuff and can perform the work correctly.. your life/wallet may depend on it. I rarely leave negative reviews on places but had to in this case. read more
