The interior is cute and nicely decorated, and the menu offers plenty of choices. That said, the options felt pretty standard--mostly crepes or waffles with ice cream and toppings. Nothing really stood out as unique. We ordered the Ferrero crepe with vanilla ice cream. The crepe itself was tasty, but I wish they were a bit more generous with the ice cream and whipped cream since the portions felt small. I have visited this dessert café many times because I enjoyed the desserts and often came here with friends. However, I don't plan to visit as often anymore. Every time I come, I am consistently seated near the entrance, even though there are many other tables available. I also always order a decaf Americano. On one occasion, despite ordering a decaf Americano, I was served a latte instead and was told that decaf Americano was not available at this café. I have allergies to both milk and caffeine. The drink was only replaced after I clearly explained my allergies to the staff member who was serving me. I was even charged an additional fee for making the drink iced that day. What I found hard to understand was that the same staff member asked me to leave a Google review at the time -- which is why I am writing this review today. This is a menu item I order regularly, which made the situation even more confusing. Overall, the repeated seating choices and lack of attentiveness made me feel uncomfortable and singled out as a customer. Amazing dessert and milkshakes. They even have savoury foods now (pizza, wings, etc), although we haven't tried that yet. If you're not worried about your diet and want a cheat meal, this is the spot. This location is busy and loud though and parking may be difficult to find. read more

Don't waste your time here unless you want over priced items with cheap ingredients. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and would not recommend it. It had thick streaks of red dye through it that didn't really taste like strawberry at all, just very fake and sweet. I got "whip cream" on top but then on my way out I saw their "whipped topping" left on the counter, and it isn't even real whip cream. Being very over priced with very cheap ingredients (can't even provide some real whip cream or a real strawberry) for $10. I would have rather go to Dairy Queen or McDonalds, at least you get a real strawberry. The menu is huge with lots of options, a great place for kids but if you're looking for good quality desserts I would recommend staying away from things like cakes, pies, etc as my carrot cake tasted like it was mass produced in a factory with way too much sugar and too many ingredients you can't pronounce. From the minute we got in it was packed so you can tell this place is hype - but the staff handled it well. We were seated within about 10 minutes. We ordered burgers and then dessert and both turned out amazing. The staff was pretty attentive and came around our table almost every 10-15 mins to check in which was helpful (I'm not used to customer service when I visit halal joints, let's b real) The decor is really nice and it was clean. This is probably the only place in yyc where u can get halal and nice desserts in one place especially on a late night. Reminded me of Tinseltown in the UK. This was an awesome experience from start to finish. There's chocolate fountains and fun decorations, not to mention how delicious every dish looks after being plated. I had the New York Style Cheesecake (customized with dark chocolate drizzle and strawberries) and a Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and my friend ordered a pizza (to-go) and the Red Velvet Cheesecake. The cheesecake I ordered was amazing! So moist and rich, it barely constitutes as cake; and with the drizzle and strawberries it was honestly perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better piece of cake . The Crispy Chicken Sandwich was super yummy too, but that cake though. Dreamy. (My friend loved the Red Velvet Cheesecake, and I have yet to hear about the pizza but I can almost guarantee it'll be so good!) Overall a great night, and they're open super late! Today, my daughter and I decided to go to the D Spot Dessert cafe on 17th ave and 9th street SW. We first seen the newly opened restaurant review on Yelp last week so we decided we would go and give it a try. I wont give you a whole entire vision of the evening, Just go try it. make sure you got some $$$ with you because its expensive but so worth it. If service is slow right now, give them a break, they just opened. I ordered the regular cheeseburger and a combo fries and drink, my daughter ordered the sultan cheese steak sandwich with a fries and drink combo and we shared both dishes. They were very well seasoned so the flavors were awesome and average priced for Calgary at approx 20$ per person. The two can do fondue is a whopping 25$ but truly a fresh and sweet wonderful delight. The waitress, Nanel, was amazing, very cheery and bright and in all genuinely happy to serve her customers. I volunteered to pay for our order since it was my wife's birthday . I told the server 3x that I am paying for everybody . In addition to the sweets and treats they serve a phenomenal choice of meals. They have the BIGGEST hotdogs I've ever seen, pizza is made with excellent quality ingredients on a thin crust, so good. The ice cream, waffles, crepes, fruits, cakes, etc. everything is over-the-top, drizzling with real Belgium chocolate, and absolutely delectable. They also have a huge selection of specialty coffee's, teas, milkshakes, so much food for super reasonable prices, and a 24 page menu with something for EVERYONE! If that weren't enough, the service is exceptional, the staff are truly generous and dedicated to your satisfaction. First of all it took 30 minutes for lemonade to be made which I never got at the end of my night It also took a very long time to get my second cake even though I saw it in the window display and my server just took a long time, they also didn't offer a spoons we had to ask for them and then they ran out of spoons which is ridiculous how are you restaurant and don't have enough spoons and then we only got one cup of water each for my whole party and they didn't refill it which is crazy because I was dehydrated and he couldn't refill my water apparently they're running out of water there they cannot afford a water bill either but it happens. This cafe in Edmonton is anything but what it should be. It is unsanitary, they have staff work in unsanitary conditions which is seen to the public when ordering. They are very un organized which is a huge reflection on management and shows not good leadership skills. I over heard front end seating staff talking about not having hot water to clean dishes properly, which is a violation of health codes. A lot of the staff and management talks in there own language not English. The only reason the food tastes good is because of the staffs dedication to the customer not the managers. This place should be shut down, or hire different management team to take over. read more

We went at around 3pm and the place was empty, a big change from the crowds and lineups that I've seen at night, so we got a table right next to the window immediately. Service was very friendly but when we asked if the pepperoni on one of the pizzas was pork (my partner doesn't consume pork), it took a surprisingly long time for the server to get the answer- D Spot is, I had already learned from the manager, 100% pork-free, and the fact that our server was unaware of this was disappointing. Anyway, we split a pizza and a milkshake- the "date and honey" shake. The shake was delectable. We both thought it would've been good to have got one for each of us. My partner liked the pizza (the Canadian Eh) more than I did; the pepperoni wasn't crisp and some of the beef bacon under the VERY ample cheese was limp. It wasn't terrible and the shake was worth a repeat visit, but the fact that this place is Halal should be one of its proudest claims and for a server not to have been told this, with the multicultural crowd that it attracts, suggests that better staff training is warranted. read more

Super super super cute place with a full dessert theme everywhere, they have bright colours and chocolate walls, very date-worthy. The food is so good, some things can be heavy and a little sweet but it's a dessert place to that's to be expected. They do serve actual food like burgers too.
