Three of my friends left the next morning and wouldn't even sleep under the covers. All the buildings had a musty smell. we were having a reunion here and I drove three other people or I would have left the next morning. happy Hour didn't have a bar tender. the food was meh. All that would have been no big deal, but there is no way around biotoxin illness from mold. Everyone in the cabin left sick. We were offered a different cabin but they all stunk! The real kicker? I was offered $25 off my entire bill which is a slap in the face for what we endured. STAY AWAY from this pace for your health!

The managers are really sweet and willing to help you out when necessary. There are lots of things to do in the area. Kayaking, tubing, horseback riding and hiking are the way to go if you come down in this direction. Fishing is a little more difficult but if you look around you'll find a spot just right for you. Council Bluff worked great for us . Also check out the Elephant Rocks and visit the highest point in Missouri. Check out this neat little place; totally worth the drive .

The Lodge is on a hill overlooking the Current River with a bluff. The lodge is a very high quality and modern building with rustic style. The doors are heavy and solid, and I didn't hear a peep of noise at night. The bathroom had a large walk in shower, and everything was fresh and clean. There are a few trails in the state park also. I've probably been there 10 times over the past 20 years. Prior to Echo Bluff being built, we stayed at various places in Eminence (Rivers Edge, various B&Bs). The accommodations were always Spartan and it was almost impossible to find any restaurants that offered anything more than "Fried something" or hamburgers. All that has changed with Echo Bluff State Park Lodge. The Lodge has accommodations that are orders of magnitude better than what can be found in Eminence and the on-site restaurant has really good food and a menu that is large enough that one could eat several different meals at the Lodge without having to repeat and entree. There is a beautiful creek behind the lodge (about 150 yards) that you can put your lawn chair in, sit back and enjoy the cool stream water and the absolutely gorgeous view of the Bluff.
