This was my first time visiting the Montclair Farmers Market and it was enjoyable time. This farmers market is full of fresh produce from many local New Jersey Farms and also has a variety of different vendors selling their wares. So anyway, I made it my business to buy as much produce as I can use in a week from as many different vendors as I could possibly purchase from. And I even splurged on some excellent looking Bison New York strips and some Mexican style Pork chorizo from a local cattle farmer. Which I quickly took home and threw on the grill with some of the vegetables that I purchased. They made for a wonderful Saturday evening dinner and paired perfectly with a bottle of wine that I had. Yummy! I love food & wine!! As for the overall variety of vendors at the market I only have one little complaint. And that is, I wish the market would have had some local cheese vendors and more baked goods like fresh breads. That would have made it the ideal experience for me. But nevertheless, I found myself having a joyful time being lost in all of the available selections of produce. Anyway, I will definitely be coming back to the Montclair Farmers Market as often as I can and you should too! FYI the market only takes place on Saturdays from 8 AM to 2 PM, so get there early to get all the choice produce! I hope you enjoy! P.S. Mostly all the vendors take Plastic! read more

This is a fantastic farmers market!!! There are vendors in 2 separate lots. Watch the prices. IMO: The pickles from Pickle Licious aren't as good as pre Covid. I like a zesty pickle. The breads look amazing but we're flavorless with lots of air pockets (holes) Buy the pierogis and kielbasa!!! So good!! read more

Oh man, I can't begin to tell you how exciting it is to have this place as our local farmers market. This market has a little bit of everything. There are local farms, a guy who forages mushrooms (and ramps in the spring!), flowers the size of my face, and everything in between. To sweeten the pot, they have a bakery that does the best savory scones I've ever had, a pickle place, Montclair Bread Co (doughnuts!), a winery, and a Polish food place with homemade kielbasa, pierogi, and galumpki. You never know what you're going to find, and every trip to the farmers market is an adventure. Check it out, and get ready for some wonderful local produce. It's a great use of Walnut St station while NJT is inexplicably shut down past Bay St on the weekends. read more

Food is pretty expensive here but I was impressed with all the selection of organic foods. I saw a mushroom stand that had over 10 different types of mushrooms, most of which I've never heard of. This market has everything from fresh beef to fresh fish. Cheese,wine, polish food, tacos, you name it they got it. The venders all make there own food or grow it. I bought homemade perogies and keblasa, the man who made it with his grandmothers recipe sold it to me. It came out to 18$ for both. When I sauted it at home it was delicious. Way better than anything you can get in a super market. I would recommend going to this market on a sat. read more

I am always sorry to see the local Farmer's Markers close for the winter but was glad to find the market in Montclair stays open all year long. There are plenty of green grocers plus vendors selling organic. We got pickles and olives plus sourdough pretzels, all very good. Besides the usual Farmer's Market fare, we found one selling Stuffed cabbage (they only had frozen so can't review till it defrosts but it looked yummy) another selling delicious home made pesto and olive tapenade and another selling wild meats and bones (boar, buffalo), but we passed. I am sure there are more sellers come the warm weather but it was nice to visit and look forward to coming back. read more

This seasonal pop-up market is a great addition to Montclair. With locally sourced goodies such as produce, pies, cheeses, meats, fish, pickles and herbs you can find almost anything at this market. A neat addition to the market are the food trucks that park street side. The trucks rotate on a weekly basis and always offer a unique selection to help you fill your belly in between stands. The only downside to the market is parking, which can be a precious commodity. However, if you don't mind a short walk then it is a non-issue. Also, pricing is a little steep especially if you compare prices to a chain supermarket...then again you are supporting local farms and buying organic. Today was packed and many customers and even some vendors were standing close and either no mask or masks pulled down. Disappointing. Love love love this local farmers market. It's a refreshing change from the chain supermarkets and it also feels good to buy from and support local farms. I always hit Picklelicious first - their sweet horseradish pickles are addicting! Then I'll head over to buy some grass fed meat and finally the produce. The stand selling pierogis and kielbasa was awesome. I bought a few packs or pierogis and kept some in the freezer for last minute meals. I was pleasantly surprised to find a seafood stand too. I bought a whole fish there freshly caught the day before. I did notice that some stands are cheaper than others so shop around. Markets runs year round from 9-2 on Saturday. Only some of the vendors are there during the winter. Go early if you want the best pick. read more

A bit pricey but you can get everything that you need here and the produce is very fresh and local. They have wine here, cheese, sour pickles and olives as well as you can get fish and meat as well as eggs. Its a one stop shop, granted you can get a parking spot not too far from here. I have been going here for years and never disappointed. Vendors are friendly and you can try the pickles and olives before buying as well as cheese. read more

Farmer's Market is great, but Springhouse Farms staff refuse to wear masks properly/consistently (mask covering mouth and exposing nose is not protecting anyone.) They've been asked nicely by customers, as well as by Farmer's Market staff, repeatedly, for weeks on end. Responses have ranged from eye rolls to snide retorts to waving customers away and refusing to serve them. Sometimes they pull masks up to appease the request and then let them down again 30 seconds later. At any given time you can see 2-4 workers handling customers' produce with mask pulled down. Absolutely unacceptable disregard for the community's health. Must be addressed if the farmer's market is to continue to allow this vendor to sell during this pandemic. read more

I'm new to Montclair so stopped by during the first week just to get a lay of the land and was thoroughly impressed with the variety. I was not prepared to spend as much as I did but to support of local businesses, why not. Great representation from local farmers and meat purveyors. There was one seafood stand, a local vineyard, Picklelicious, Montclair Bread, and a couple other vendors flying solo. Occasional appearances by some food trucks makes for a great lunch break. They're at the Walnut St. Station every Saturday 8am - 2pm rain or shine so I will definitely be back. read more

April-May has been pretty great and it isn't even the officially opening of the summer market! This is by far my favorite farmers market in the area! They always get the best quality vendors and have the most diverse selections. I love the assortment of vegetable farmers who come here, and the bread is also great. They also have wine and cheese vendors (cleverly put next to one another) and meats (including the exotic variety). If you're feeling hungry, there are a few food trucks on one end and a newer Mexican place on the other end. Rounding out the experience (and convincing you to stick around longer) is live music. This is as well-rounded a farmers market as any to which I've been. Every Saturday from about 9 AM to 2 PM at the Walnut St. Train Station. There are at least 5 farms represented featuring seasonal fruits and veggies grown locally. There are several organic options and it seems like at least one vendor is 100% organic. On top of the produce, several farms are featuring meats ranging from your typical beef/chicken/pork to bison, duck, ostrich, etc. There are also stands specializing in strictly meats, making their own sausage, burgers, bacon, etc--some organic. Additionally, one stand offers everything pickles, from sweet to spicy, most of which you can sample before you buy. Yet another stand is offering a vast array of cheeses, many of which were new to me. There is a Polish stand offering kielbasa and goulash and multiple foods of that ilk. Another stand offering locally sourced and produced wines. Montclair Bread is on the scene, offering a vast array of breads and pastries, as well as a variety of coffees. There is even a stand offering locally caught seafood--clams, tuna, scallops, salmon, fluke, bluefish and more. My personal favorite may be the lady who offers all types of baked goods--in particular a top notch banana bread--though there are cookies, zucchini bread and a host of other offerings. There is even an offering of vegan and gluten-free items. Other stands include Artisan Jam, All Things Honey, Spices, and I'm sure I'm missing others. It's really an impressive market that's worth checking out. Parking is ample. Easy in, easy out. As an aside, though technically not part of the market, there are often several food truck options including Taqueria Authentica, Hunger Construction, and a vegan truck, as well as ice cream and shave ice trucks that line up at the perimeter. read more

I have been in the area for 12 years and have heard about this market but never had the time to visit. I went a week ago and was blown away. Great place with a wide variety. great, knowledgeable vendors. My go to place for fresh everything. Unfortunately, as with Montclair in general, parking is hard to find. Worth it read more

Stopped by today for the first time and it was great! They had tons of fresh local produce, pies, meat, chicken, dish and even cider doughnuts. The people were so nice and friendly too. We'll definitely be back! read more

Nice market. Perogies are very good. Nice selection of fresh items. Prices are bag for a farmers market. Not cheap that's for sure.
