We come here often! Especially for the corn when it's in season. Love the doughnuts in the fall. It's always fun to feed the animals too.

We decided to stop in on a rainy day last week to pick apples and enjoy the baked items. There was also plenty of parking on site. We went during the weekday, and it wasn't busy- I'm sure the rain kept people away. We saw animals, apples, pumpkins, and many great snacks inside to buy. They offered cakes, soups, donuts, cider, and more for purchase. We enjoyed our apple picking and the fresh, juicy apples they sell by the pound. There is still an entrance fee per person, but it is lower during the week than during the weekends. read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed. We love Sun High! It's a cute and small local farm. There is a farm store that sells lots of produce, baked goods, flowers and a variety of packaged local goodies like hot sauces, dips and jams. The best part about Sun High is the animals! There are pigs, goats, rabbits, chickens and even llamas. My daughter loves checking out the animals and you can even feed them which is cute. In the fall you can expect a pumpkin patch and all of the goodies like cider, donuts, etc. They also don't get as crazy crowded as some of the other local farms which is nice. In the summer they have the cutest outdoor patio space. It's the perfect setting to enjoy a treat from the farm store. They have such a nice outdoor patio that I wish they had a cafe menu - would be so fun to enjoy a brunch or lunch after checking out the animals. This is a fun weekend activity and a great way to spend an hour or two outside with kids. read more

Compact little farm for apple picking. They have other stuff too. $4 to get in, under 2 goes free. They charge by pound ($2.99/lb for apple), so it's definitely not cheap but certainly fresh. The farm isn't that big so I can imagine if you go even a few weeks after they are opened for the season I cannot imagine they have anything left. There's a big shop where they sell cider, produce and baked goods. I remembered their apple crumble pie was good from last time. Hopefully it's good too this time. There are some farm animals (ducks, goat, horse, donkey, rabbit etc) for the kids, face cut out board for kids to take pictures. It's good for little kids since there's not so much walking compared to the bigger farms. The signs for the apples are very informative. People who work there are very nice. They have port-a-potty. I honestly fell in love with this place every since I found it in the fall time. The owners are really nice and are there to answer any of your questions. I am usually always there getting the farm milk . Their ice cream is very delicious. My favorite is the apple one. I always have to get it whenever I am there. Their donuts are also very tasty as well. I am disappointed that they close down in the wintertime. Too bad they are not able to stay open all year round. Came here on a Friday afternoon to pick some pumpkins and it was super cute. It's very small so doesn't require a hayride like most places do which we really liked. They had great pumpkins and they were very well priced. The store that they have is super cute and has a ton of locally made food products as well as baked goods and ice cream. We got ice cream, apple cider donuts, a cinnamon loaf and soup and all of it was great. Probably some of the best apple cider donuts I've had. Would definitely come back here every year! read more

I stopped in while driving by on a whim! Plenty of parking available on a weekday but I'm sure it can get busy on weekends. It seemed like a smaller farm but had a pretty big farm store offering lots of fresh vegetables, ice cream, jams, and pastries. I only got two of their sodas to try this visit but I will definitely be back to try more! This is a sweet little farm and on-site farmers market in Randolph NJ. There was no cost to visit here in the spring but I believe there is a cost when visiting in the fall for apple picking. My sons enjoyed the morning with friends walking around the farm spending time with and feeding the animals. They had goats, sheep, horses, alpacas, and bunnies. You can purchase carrots inside the store for $1.00 and feed the animals. The animals are super friendly, sweet and very interactive. When we went, only certain animals were able to get close enough to, but I believe in the fall, the farm is a little bit more open. The farmers market has fresh fruits and vegetables, freshly made bakery items, soups/salads, and homemade gourmet ice cream! The staff were friendly inside and there is an area with picnic tables to enjoy snacks or lunch with a great view of the farm. I would like to go back and see it again in the fall when it is more open :) read more

This fall we had to adapt our usual family outing to pick apples because of this stupid COVID pandemic. Instead of going out to our normal 'pick your own' apple farm (we couldn't go because we hadn't signed up for a time slot) we ran down to Sun High Orchard to see what we could get there. So I'll start with the only real negative of the day and that was parking. There wasn't much in the way of signage and the lot adjacent to the farm is small and was overcrowded...had we known there was additional parking across the street we would've parked there. Parking aside, this was a nice trip for us even if it was a little overcrowded. Like most similar places they have animals to see and feed and their store was quite amazing. Even though we knew they didn't have pick your own apples we were hoping for a few baskets and they didn't disappoint. They were sold out of a couple of the prepicked varieties we were hoping for, we were still able to bring home enough for making delicious baked goods. We also found some amazing jams, donuts, cider, and other treats which make this a location I'll need to return to at some point. read more

So i came here once before back in 2014 with few of my girls but came back this past weekend with my family to go apple picking. First off, this place is was PACKED with people. There's usually plenty of parking in front of the farm, even across the street, but both lots were filled and people parked on the streets for a good block or two. Anyways, parking is free as well as the entrance. There's a pumpkin patch as well as a petting farm as soon as you go in to the farm. You can feed the farm animals if you wish and there hand sanitizer available if you do feed them. There's also a corn patch where you can take pictures as well as a lot of picture cut-outs where you can place your head in to take a picture (nice for kids). When it comes to apple picking, there are a BUNCH of trees that you can pick apples from. My personal favorite were the green apple and fuji (red delicious and macintosh were all gone by the time we went). They even have a list of where the apples are and what each apples are used for (eating or baking, or both)-which is pretty helpful. The apples are weight based ($1.99 per pounds) and they provide a bag for you to use (but be careful, because we got 3 bags filled with approximately 11 apples for $17 which was definitely pricier than we thought haha). Anyways, the apples were DELICIOUS so we didn't mind. We also went inside the store and got apple cider donuts (a dozen for $9, half a dozen for $5), half a gallon of apple cider ($5), and a single scoop of pumpkin ice cream and apple ice cream (SUPER addicting). I personally think that the apple cider donuts with cinnamon was the best and the apple cider donuts weren't too sweet which was good. There's seating outside near the farm or outside near the store, either way it was nice to sit and eat in the nice fall weather. We took a lot of pictures and had an amazing time. Definitely recommend this place to anyone nearby. I didn't go on the hay ride but it's $1 per person (free for those under 2). I personally really like that this place has a free entrance fee haha. read more

Visited a few farms for apple picking and animal petting. SunHigh orchard was our first stop of the day. They had a variety of different apple trees, peaches, peppers, tomatoes, pumpkins and sunflowers! They even had a little hayride (best dollar spent!!) to show us the layout of what they provided. They also had a variety of happy healthy animals. Three alpacas greeted you from the parking area. As seen in pictures, I was a big fan of the horse. Friendly beautiful brown horse waiting to greet the visitors. They also had bunnies, ducks, a big old smelly hog, goats and sheep. We had a wonderful day picking apples in a crowd free environment. I know most of the apple orchard are down "south" so when i found this place that's not too far from my house, i was so excited!! This orchard is not too big, yet big enough for us (my son and I) to walk around and pick whatever apple we want!! No entrance fee, but you just need to buy a bag to go inside. Anything that you can fit in the bag that you purchase is a fair game (even fruit, flower, etc) -- i think that's a pretty good deal!! Apple tree are grow in row, and is labeled in the front so you know what kind of apple you are picking. Also, the apple are low enough for the little kid to pick, so the little one can also have some fun picking. On top of apple tree, pumpkin patch, flower bed, and veggie farm, they also have a little animal collection: goat, pig, ducks, rabbits, and horses. This really was a surprised for me since i didn't realize, and my son was so excited to see some animals!! Also, try their apple cider donut!! they have 3 different toppings: original, cinnamon, and powder sugar. I love the cinnamon one!! the donut has a different crunch to it because of the sugar they have inside!! i can't seem to have enough!! and their apple cider was great too!! we will be back for more!! read more

Very easy drive, and also very easy to find this orchard. they have an array of choices to choose from - that you truly pick yourself. i left with fresh corn off the stalk, multiple sized pumpkins, and 2 bags of apples. all of which cost about 21.00. the prices are very fair here, and they accept cards in certain booths. i suggest taking a photo of the map which is by the area by the animals so that you can remember where everything is, because once you start walking around here, you might get confused. the hay rides around the orchard are 1.00. personally, i liked walking. pigs, horses, llamas, and other various animals throughout the farm to enjoy. the hot apple cider is an absolute must get. for 1.75 a cup, you'll be in heaven. they also have fresh cider donuts and ice cream inside. 1/2 a dozen donuts for 5.00. reasonable prices for those items, but i felt the cold cider...candles...other snacks were priced very high. donuts come in 3 options: traditional, powder, and cinnamon/sugar. deff worth the trip out, kids or not youll have fun. i loved the choices of u-pick and the cider/donuts. ps. parking is terrible, but drive down the road and youll see small grass lots to park in. read more

Came here during Christmas time to look for Christmas tree. They had a medium size selection of trees. The best part of this place is that they have a huge selection of homemade ice cream, gelato, cakes, pies, cider donuts, etc. They also have a nice fireplace fire going and lots of petting zoo animals on the property. I would highly recommend for families and for anyone looking to enjoy a little trip outside in nature. We came here today to pick some apples. The entrance fee is $2/person and the tractor ride is $1/person. Children under 5 get in for free. The Apple prices are $1.99/lb and they provide the bags for free. There are only a few wagons available to use so I would suggest you to bring your own. For the area, the prices are cheap. And there are plenty of delicious apples available. There is a map when you enter of where all the apples are. We were able to get Gala, McIntosh, Blondie, Crimson Crisp, Fuji, Cortland, and Summer Rambo. There are also pumpkins available as well for $.69/lb. Blondies are my favorite. The market had plenty of delicious bread, pie, apple cider, produce and ice cream. The ice cream and pie area was cash only and the other areas accepted credit cards. The cider was so good and the kids love the ice cream. The staff was friendly and nice. I don't know who the other reviewers were commenting about. But when I went today, everyone was helpful and nice. They aren't a huge orchard, but they met my expectations. We will be back for sure. read more

Love this place however, they need to designate parking spots for individuals who are only there for a grab and run. Other farms provide spots for 15 minute parking but this place does not which means you will never find a parking spot during the fall harvest season that is anywhere near the farm. I've been on a mission to find a decent orchard in North Jersey. Sun High Orchard certainly fits the bill. It provides all the basics: apple picking, farm animals, and farmers market. Keep in mind, if you're looking for a place to spend the entire day, this is not the place for you. I'd plan to spend an hour or two here, max. While it has many of the "staples", it is relatively small. It was pretty busy and parking was fairly limited. The farm animals were somewhat disappointing. They had a pig, some rabbits, goats, etc. The enclosures were pretty small and honestly did not seem well kept. I didn't see any food to purchase for the animals. Perhaps that would have made it more interactive for children. They offer apple picking and have a variety of types to choose from. Many of the apples seemed to have been picked/had already fallen on the ground but we did manage to snag up some delicious fuji apples. We filled a bag which came out to around $8 bucks. Not too bad. The farmers market sells a variety of items including the ice cream and donuts. Do yourself a favor and try them both! The pumpkin ice cream was amazing... so creamy and sweet (but not too sweet either). They had three types of donuts to choose from. I tried the apple cider donut ($1 for one) which tasted very fluffy and fresh. Highly recommended! read more

Came here to get my Christmas tree. Drove my the place in route to some place else and decided to stop. The store attached is a mix of "old country store, and plain outdated". Apart from the preserves there was a lot of blank shelves. We went to get ice cream and there was no sprinkles or spoons. So we looked through the trees and found one we loved. We were helped to pick it up, they cut the bottom and trimmed a few wayward branches. They then wrapped it in a net and placed it on the car. I liked that they use a thick Saran Wrap not just the string/twine. The one thing they do not have is the machine that shakes the tree. We came home and when stringing then lights found a rather large birds nest inside. Kinda scary cause we were inside what we gonna grab trying to remove it but we did. Fun fact this was our first Christmas in our new home and the birds nest represent so many good things so I was okay with it once I cleaned it out. Will certainly go back. read more

This was my first visit to this local farm I went there for their desserts. I purchased their Marble Coffee Cake which we had previously received as a gift. It's one of the most delicious cakes that I have ever eaten! I also got their Orange Cranberry Nut Loaf. My wife tried it and was surprised how little of those ingredients were in it, so not as good as the Coffee Cake. I will be back for their pies. A relatively small farm with the basics. There were a lot of apples and small trees lined in their farm. It wasn't a huge area and most of the trees are pretty small. The cider donuts were good. They are only slightly sweet so if you want a sweeter taste, definitely get the cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar options. And they are only $5 for 6 donuts or $0.90 each. They also have other basic snacks that are very reasonably priced. The apples were $2 per pound and there is no admission fee. Not a place that will take a whole day, but a nice stop for an hour or so. I can't justify driving an hour just to visit this farm. The staff was fine. The lady selling the donuts and snacks was a little curt, but overall fine. They only have port-a-potties. And no hand washing stations so bring hand wipes and hand sanitizer! read more

Great place to spend a summer or fall day with the family! We are Manhannites and wanted to get out for the day to take our 17-month old toddler to a pumpkin patch so we took the one hour drive out here today after finding this place on Google. We met a friend from NJ with their 13-month old here and we all had a wonderful time. The farm is on the smaller side, but was perfect for our little ones. They seem to grow corn, apples, peaches and pumpkins. Not sure what else. They also have some animals which seem more for display than commercial -- geese, a pig, sheep. There is a spacious open lawn-like area in the front where they spread out pumpkins and gourds with some fun little spaces for the kids to play, including a tent and a couple of those funny boards with cut-outs for kids to stick their heads through and take photos. There are also maybe 6 big tables covered for shade to have lunch and relax. Our highlight was walking through the apple trees, taking photos, and plucking fresh apples off the trees and munching on them. Our kids loved them! There is also a pretty large market with fresh produce from the farm and plenty of items from nearby farms. They also make their own soups, pastries, pies, bread and ice cream. Nothing is heated so it's mostly to take home, but there are plenty of items for snacking. Some sandwiches or something warm would have nice so we could have had a proper meal. We had the ice cream which was fantastic (the pumpkin and apple pie were may favorite) and also tried a fresh Dutch Blueberrry pie which was great. Also enjoyed the sesame semolina bread loaf. We grab a couple of buckets of apples to take home, among other things. The prices were very, very reasonable. The farm owner, Don, was walking around and introduced himself to us and was very chatty. He's a second generation farmer and absolutely loves what he does. This is a very kid-friendly place. In fact there were 6 separate school buses from local schools (some were from North Bergen) but the place has plenty of capacity so it was never too crowded. I think they have hay rides and tours on certain days or times, but we didn't do any of those. We will definitely be back next summer/fall and try to catch peach season (beginning of August to mid September). read more

My first time apple picking was a fail. Can't really blame this place but just a lil I will... Parking: None. Parked next to a big tree close to the forest. So go early if you want hassle free parking. Animals: Cute but only pigs, ducks, rams and horses. So it basically was just a lot of dirt and mud everywhere lol Apples: Going in October is very late and yes every apple was on the floor. Still we managed to pick some good ones and buy some honey crisps apple in the market. But still not a great apple picking experience but can't really blame them Donuts: Get them. Went here this weekend for apple picking. This is a really cute place that will get anyone into the fall spirit. They have a huge selection of trees that have pretty much any type of apple you're looking for--red delicious, golden delicious, mcintosh, empire, liberty, fuji, etc. The only thing I recommend is getting there just a little earlier in the season, as about 2/3 of the apples had already been picked/fallen to the floor. This also may be due the high wind gusts that we've had the last couple of days. There's also a moderately sized pumpkin patch where there are great photo ops for the kids. Hayrides, a small animal zoo, pony rides too!! Lastly the shop has a woodburning fireplace and hot apple cider--this place is a highly recommended local fall spot. read more

The Experience: Absolutely loved this orchard. We went on the first day the farm opened for the apple picking season and loved how relaxed the farm was. It has everything from the country store with lots of goodies to look at including apple cider donuts and ice cream (definitely coming back for the ice cream). We shared an apple cider donut which was great. They've got animals (pig, horse, sheep and rabbits) which was amazing for my 20 month old to see. And lots of varieties of apples. We loved the apples - fuji, gala, blondee and pink ladies. Parking can be a bit dicey. There is a two row lot just in front of the farm and some grass parking across the street. Absolutely disappointed and totally over rated. Let me begin by telling you that if are with a family this not a family friendly place. The hay ride is not worthy it's practically just a short loop around a basketball court. The bathrooms are porter potty and totally filty! The owner Phil is arrogant, rude and nasty when he talks to people. He is walks around with a very unpleasant attitude. Even the people that works in the place they even said that he is always Nasty.
