I typically train with Sonia or Elliot, they actually work with you to ensure your posture and form are correct and are constantly walking around the room giving helpful tips. This is what Real Trainers do! This review is specifically for the other 3 trainers I've trained with multiple times and feel like it's actual fraud saying they can "train or coach" the class. "Coach" Jon literally walks around just shouting things out and spends the majority of his time standing in front of the computer screen, he will never correct form. Honestly he seems to have just been hired to fill a coach spot because in no way does he coach and there's zero chance he's an actual trainer. He's very lazy and literally just talks over the speaker, that's it! It's really a joke at this point allowing him to "coach" a class. On to Nik, I've taken a couple classes with coach Nik and maybe had a slightly better experience but again, no form correcting just walking around and honestly just a lack of energy, kinda seems bothered or doesn't care to be there. Lastly coach Casey, I think she tried to have some better energy but she does not even do the weight floor exercises correctly when showing us what we are supposed to be doing. Her form is so off, just walks around the room, I will say she's friendly but other than that she's not correcting or helping with form, giving zero tips and maybe just has good energy which isn't the worst. It's sad we pay so much for each class even with the unlimited and have unqualified trainers running the classes. Outside of Coach Sonia and Coach Elliot they've hired random "coaches" with zero real experience but that's how Orange Theory seems to work now. I'd like them to show us their qualifications or actually Train the Coaches to correct form, if you're just allowing us to use your equipment and workout for an hour without reaching us anything why charge for trainers who can't themselves train or do anything to benefit us. There used to be so many more real trainers, now they just hire anyone.

The way the classes and challenges are set up constantly shows your progress. Much of my transformation is also because of the coaches [Elliot, Jon, Mel, & Sonia]. They are there to answer any questions you have (and I have too many) and are always up for a discussion. They are patient, have high energy, and will go above & beyond to see you succeed. I love the office staff; they are also invested in your success & cheer you on at every step. I love OTF Montclair, and I cannot thank them enough. I can't wait to update this review with a photo of my 1000-class sign.

It's clean, well maintained, and the atmosphere is exactly what I'm looking for. No influencers setting up tripods, no one hogging equipment for photo shoots, just people focused on their workouts. There are bathrooms by the Redwood Bowl but we couldn't find any helpful maps so just used our phones to navigate. The trail we ended up taking was around 4 miles and took 2 hours. Most of it was shaded and among redwood trees so I really enjoyed that this could work as an afternoon hike. It's a moderate difficulty level with some steep areas. There's also a popular picnic area with grills and an archery range. You could even walk to the nearby swimming pool or visit the Chabot. We only did one half of the hiking loop so will be back to check out the other side.

What the what?? 0_o So, that's on me, kids. My bad. Onto the review... A giant ±1,833-acre redwood forest nestled in the Oakland Hills, this park was a former logging site back in the 1800s. Fortunately, there has been a nice resurgence of redwoods to replace those that were cut down. It ain't old-growth, but we'll take what we can these days. The Good: * Free at certain times of year and at certain entrances (more below) * Mountain biking on certain trails (check map and trail signage) * Horseback riding on certain trails (check map and trail signage) * Camping available (check website for info and reservations) * Reservable and non-reservable picnic tables (check map & website) * Restrooms available in parking lots, as well as at some campsites * Nearly forty miles of trails with something for everyone * If you're looking for a moderate ±4.5-mile loop, go to the Skyline entrance and take the Serpentine Prairie Trail to Dunn Trail to Golden Spike Trail, then back to Dunn Trail The Meh: * $5/vehicle entrance fee on weekends and major holidays between April and October, only at the Redwood Gate entrance * Most of the trails are pretty decent, but some are in rough shape due to water damage The Ugly: * One of the few parks I've seen with "off-leash" sections for dogs--which is fine, except you know there's a good majority of dog owners who think they can control their dogs but really can't. We saw a panicked guy chasing his dog down a trail at one point, and who knows when--if ever--he caught up to it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Great park with tons of trails and lots to see and do.

Front desk staff was friendly and I was able to sign up for a 10 visit pass for $51, otherwise it's $6 a visit. I figured this will hopefully keep me consistent for the beginning of the year. The facility itself could use an upgrade but overall it is wat you would expect from an older building. The entrance into the pool is through the locker area which has lockers, changing area with benches, showers, and bathrooms. The pool looks fairly clean on the surface and we'll maintained. There are lanes divided into slow, fast, and medium speeds for circle swimming. Much of the demographics is 50+ during the time I went and they were all spaced out fairly evenly. The pool is actually open earlier for swim club members ($55/month) which is nice for early birds and the crowd seems younger at that time. I was told it's open to the public to sign up for that as well. The water itself was a good temperature. The pool goes from 3 ft to 9 ft. The bottom of the pool was clean on the 3 feet side, but had debris on the floor in the 9ft side. Folks would swim for about 30 minutes - 1 hour and more folks would flow into the lanes. Everyone is respectful and the regulars would chat with one another at the walls. There are kickboards and other supplies you can borrow from in a shed if you'd like. There is a lifeguard on duty. I asked her for the time, but she didn't know it, which I thought was odd because I could hear her talking on the phone or talking aloud. I asked another swimmer for the time and he said there's a clock right behind me, which I didn't see, and I'm surprised the lifeguard couldn't just tell me there was a clock to check. Apart from that, I enjoyed my one hour swim and got a reality check on how out of shape I am. I'll definitely come back to continue swimming and work my way up to the fast lane. The Teen put the phone down and ventured out and some sand, touching and driftwood drifting.. Definitely, we will be back when it gets warmer with hopes of finding front row parking again!

Having recently moved to the area, my wife and I were looking for a convenient gym in or near Montclair. At first glance, this place seemed to fit the bill perfectly, in that it has a pretty good array of aerobic and weight machines for a pretty small gym. However, after briefly checking out the place, we decided that it wasn't for us. For one thing, every minute or so a loud BUZZ goes off...perhaps this is for some circuit training purpose? Anyway, it was really annoying. And pointless, too - no one seemed to switch machines in response to it (nor did there seem to be any need to, as the place wasn't jammed). Also, some very loud music playing. Hey, this is 2014: people will bring their own ipods or whatever to listen to their own music, if they want music at all while working out. read more

This is a very shady gym, and honestly I'm not surprised it's turning into a ghost town. My dad…read morepays over $170 a month for this place, and somehow they still can't consistently keep the hot water running in the showers or pool. The locker rooms are gross, a lot of the equipment is outdated, apparently there's a jacuzzi that's been out of order since covid and the only thing this gym really had going for it was the basketball court. I first came here back in 2022, then again in 2026, and the difference is night and day. In 2022 the place was packed. Fast forward to 2026 and it looks abandoned. Either people got priced out, or everyone found a better gym. The funniest part is how they handled their guest pass policy. When my dad signed up, he was told he could send guests even if he wasn't physically there. I had already used the guest pass once before while I was finishing college, and they took all my information down. Ever since then they've absolutely spammed me with texts and emails trying to sell me a membership, even after I told them I didn't live in the area. It was way harder than it should've been to stop the marketing, which honestly doesn't inspire much confidence if you ever wanted to cancel a membership. I recently moved back and figured I'd use my second guest visit. I walked over for a leg day because they have one machine I actually like. The woman at the front desk asked for my dad's information and then asked if I could call him to confirm I had permission to use the guest pass. I explained he was currently out of the country. She disappeared into the back for a few minutes, came back, and suddenly said, "Actually we've changed the guest policy, so even if your dad called, we still couldn't let you in." ...Wait, what? You literally just asked me to call him. So I asked when the policy changed, and she said, "Maybe about a week ago." The whole interaction was awkward and honestly didn't sit right with me. Maybe it really was a brand-new policy, maybe it wasn't. Either way, asking me to call my dad for approval and then immediately telling me his approval doesn't matter makes absolutely no sense. The irony is they spent months blowing up my phone trying to convince me to buy a membership, but the second I tried to legitimately use the guest benefit that came with the membership my dad already pays for, suddenly I couldn't get through the front door. If you're spending over $170 a month, there are far better options. The YMCA down the street has a better value, and if you're willing to spend a little more, Equinox offers amenities that this place isn't even close to matching. This gym feels like it's circling the drain. Poor management, inconsistent policies, dirty facilities, and prices that make absolutely no sense. Save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere that actually values its members.

I am new to joining a gym and as a senior, I hoped for a positive outcome, and not feel intimidated or like I "didn't belong" I felt very welcome, I've taken a few classes that have been beneficial for me. One is for posture & strengthening. The instructor is fabulous, knowledgeable and makes our workouts fun. I thoroughly enjoined a class called "just breathe" very relaxing and uses the "Alexander Technique" but now the wonderful instructor is on maternity leave and we look forward to her return. There is currently a sub but I haven't had a chance to go back. I'm learning to use the equipment at my own pace. There are several rooms with different equipment and I never feel pressured by someone else needing the one I may be using. I bring my own container of disinfectant wipes, since not everyone is conscientious about wiping their equipment after they're done using it. And I'm fine with using my own, even though each room does provide a spray bottle and small towels are available at the front desk. I bring my own mat to the classes, but they have them at the front desk if you need to borrow one. The best for me personally is the use of the indoor pool ! I have never enjoyed using a pool anywhere until I joined this gym. I've tried two different classes. One is Gentle Aqua & another one is Aqua Cardio. Both instructors have different times depending on the day of the week . Both ladies are fabulous! The hours suit my needs perfectly. The ladies locker room is always immaculate. Shout out to Maria who is there Monday - Friday She keeps the locker room, freshly clean, always wiping down the wet floors as we come back from using the pool. She is very kind and welcoming, and we appreciate her so much! And lastly, the Manager, Edward was very kind and welcoming. He gave me a nice tour of the gym. I was a bit uncertain that joining a gym was the right thing for me to do. He gave me information on trainers that they work with to help me along with my journey. My friend and I joined together & we are pleased with our decision to join. He remembers our names and greets us personally every time we see him. Overall we recommend this facility, especially as a Senior citizen, we truly feel we belong

I've used this place as my home gym since 2022, despite the neighborhood I like the place. It is always clean, the staff is friendly and quite honest about how things work (when I vent about other locations). Yes parking is a bit crowded at times but it's ok just park by the McDonald's. Most times when things break they are good to fix things, you find street art every now and then, but for the challenges it has the staff is always on top of their game. I don't give them 5/5 just because it is my home gym, I find this place as a place that's good to train whoever is serving the community by working at this location.

Nate has an amazing gift of being able to pull out your full potential without hurting or pushing you too far. I've spent most of my time and money on gyms throughout the years to get in shape but nothing has helped me as much as these past two months with skyfit. Plus I am a mountain biker and golfer and have already seen strong improvements on both. Last time I hit Juaquin miller park I noticed half way up the hill I was in a harder gear in my mountain bike than I usually am and realized that my legs just got a lot stronger which has helped me get out of bed, get in and out of my car, walk up and down stairs and other kinds of everyday things.
