They should maybe disclose that the memberships only come with 3 guest passes annually not everytime you come in.

They do have day pass bundles you can buy which are pretty good if getting a membership does not make financial sense.

I was in need of a gym and having a pool was one of the requirements so that limited the options in…read morethe area for me that wasn't a 20 minute+ drive way so I decided to check out Equinox first and ended up really liking the vibe. The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

I've been an Equinox member for over five years in Southern California and visit the San Ramon area…read moreonce or twice a year. This was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at any Equinox location. After what I believed was a successful check-in, a staff member interrupted my workout by tapping me on the shoulder and asking me to stop by the front desk after I finished. About five minutes later, I was interrupted again--this time by two employees, including the manager, Lawrence Sanderson, who approached me in the middle of my workout and asked for my name. The issue wasn't whether there was a problem with my access. If I needed a day pass or didn't have access to this club under my membership, that could have been explained professionally and respectfully. Instead, I was treated as though I wasn't even an Equinox member. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational, abrupt, and unwelcoming. Had the situation been handled courteously, I would have happily paid for a day pass or resolved whatever issue existed. Instead, the manager's rude and abrasive approach left such a poor impression that I decided to leave. To make matters worse, the club was extremely crowded, with long waits for equipment and very few machines available. Between the overcrowding and the way I was treated, the experience was far below what I've come to expect from Equinox. After five years as a loyal member, I'm genuinely disappointed. I've always associated Equinox with exceptional customer service and hospitality, but this location delivered the exact opposite. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no member should be made to feel unwelcome or embarrassed in the middle of a workout.

I swear I have a love-hate relationship with this gym. I was happy to see the hand sanitizer…read moredispensers are now working which was my major contention before. The massage chairs now allow you to scan your pass in order to start up for one ten minute session per day instead of you having to bother the front desk person to start it up. In addition, they now have a red light therapy room that runs in ten minute sessions as well. You better believe I'll be taking advantage of the massage and RLT post shift. Zumba classes still available when I decide to drop by again (you're too popular Alberto!) and no issues with the workout equipment. I also appreciate that they have a variety of channels playing so you can station yourself accordingly based on your preference.

I've been to a lot of gyms, and unfortunately this is one of the worst experiences I've had--not…read morebecause of the equipment, but because of the people and the management. The gym culture here is incredibly inconsiderate. Members regularly leave weights scattered everywhere without re-racking them, making it frustrating and unsafe for others trying to work out. There's a noticeable sense of entitlement--people act like basic gym etiquette just doesn't apply to them. What really pushed things over the edge for me was the cleanliness, especially in the restrooms. On more than one occasion, I've walked into stalls that were absolutely disgusting--unflushed toilets and, unbelievably, feces left on the toilet seat. That's beyond unacceptable for any facility, let alone one people pay to use. Management is also a major issue. The manager, Joe, doesn't seem to take complaints seriously. Calls go unanswered, and there's little to no follow-up when issues are reported. It feels like concerns are ignored rather than addressed. Overall, this gym has potential, but until management enforces basic standards for cleanliness and member behavior, I wouldn't recommend it.

I am honestly so frustrated with the lack of response from the Mgr. Matt at this Pleasanton…read morelocation. They cancelled the Body Pump Tues. AND thurs. at 5:30pm classes months ago and it was a very full class. I had to go in multiple times to ask when the class will be back for Tues. and Thurs evenings. I have stopped by the front desk at least 5 times, each time leaving my name and phone# for the mgr.- Matt to call me back, he has not once returned my call. Mind you, every time I've gone, the mgr is there, he just tells his staff to say that "he's not available right now" I've asked the staff there and they don't know what's going on, so continue to just leave Matt my mssgs. I have heard that they are working on finding a new instructor. Problem is, there is an instructor that already works in the Livermore location that has said multiple times that she can sub, she just needs the Mgr "Matt" to reach out to her. All of this info has been in my multiple messages left to Matt and he has not reached out to the instructor to ask her to sub, leaving all of us many customers/attendees, without a Body Pump class at all for a few months now. @matt, please follow up and contact the instructor that I left you her name and number, and ask her to sub on Thurs. evenings for the 5:30pm class, so that we are not all suffering with no classes at all to attend. We would all greatly appreciate your action on this. Else, what are we paying our monthly dues for, if we can't even take the class? The sad thing is, this was an easy fix that just required you to make one call a few months ago and it would've been easily taken care of, until you find a permanent instructor.
