I did like the fact you can block off the sides of the back deck with curtains for more privacy. There are other amenities that you can take advantage of. We'd debated on the Tiny Cottage or TreeHouse and thankfully for 2 people, the TreeHouse was most appropriate for space. Check in was contactless and pretty easy based on the instructions provided by email. Golf carts and/or ATVs are provided for you to get around the property which was pretty cool. The TreeHouse was stored with most of your household basic needs. The only thing we needed inside that wasn't available was a cheese grater and colander for a recipe. However, we were able to improvise. There is a store on property which is accessible 24 hours. We were under the impression that the store carried eggs from seeing them on several TicTok videos, but that was not case during our stay. There were none in sight. Additionally, the store's payment kiosk was out of order so we were unable to purchase anything additional. This would've been nice to know at the time of booking. We ended up having to leave the property and head to the nearest Dollar General & Foodland for a few extras which was a short distance down the street. When returning from Foodland, we came across the manager who happened to be on the property. She was nice. The property's amenities were nice. We really enjoyed the main firepit and the people we met. Blankets were provided in a nearby bin. We didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities as the temps dropped significantly during our stay and a freeze warning was in affect. All in all, it was cozy, quiet and a peaceful retreat (except for the acorns hitting the top of the treehouse). It should be noted that the stairs are short and steep, getting to and from the bedroom (upstairs) and bathroom (downstairs). My friend slipped a little while going downstairs to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but she was fine and didn't hurt herself.

Drury delivered all that PLUS dinner each night. I've never stayed at a Drury before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a well executed mix of clean comfort, with a professional yet family friendly vibe and atmosphere . Is it a 5 star upscale resort type experience? No. But it is nicely decorated, CLEAN, and has some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered, especially on a work trip. The rooms were spacious and clean, and everything actually worked as expected (air conditioning, water, etc... you never know with these government rate hotels). The breakfast was buffet style with lots of options. I've recently started leaning into high protein and fiber meals, so it was nice to have more than processed pastries and pancakes to choose from. The fitness room, although sparse in terms of free weights, was also clean and spacious, and the cardio equipment looked almost brand new. It overlooked the pool area, which looked just as clean and well kept as the rest of the hotel. But the unexpected added bonus was the evening dinner meal. I knew about it in advance, but I was expecting a couple of snack-like foods (veggie tray, trail mix, etc) like I've experienced at other hotels who offered a social hour or evening manager's special event. But this was a full on dinner buffet with daily rotating meals AND three alcoholic beverages. It was kind of typical cafeteria quality, but it saved me from having to go out to dinner or drinks for the three nights of my stay. And just thinking about the convenience of that fact alone if I were also traveling with the whole family would make it worth it.

We noticed that the hotel was extremely clean and we loved the way it was decorated. We checked in and we were given a quiet room, as l'd requested. The room was very bright and perfectly set up. We had requested 2 queen size beds and the room came with a flat screen television, a comfortable armchair and a desk chair for anyone needing to do any computer work. The entire room was clean, fresh feeling and the a/c worked well. The bathroom was large for a hotel room, the shower and tub were bigger than I expected and the water pressure was great. This hotel has breakfast included which was delicious. It also a "kickback" in the afternoon which is food such as taco meat and nacho chips, chicken breast, and white, fettuccine sauce, barbecue sliders and mac & cheese.. It was good food in the evenings. They also provided three alcoholic beverages from their list per day and popcorn in the evening along with soda. This was all included with our stay. l've never stayed at a Drury hotel before, but I think I'm going to search for them in my future travels! I was extremely happy with my stay in every aspect of my experience with the hotel. I did not use the fitness center, pool, whirlpool, or conference center. I wish I had been told about this hotel before. Again, thank you for making my experience so memorable.

I also appreciated that when I lost my only ChapStick, the staff kindly gave me one from their shop at no charge, which was a nice gesture. That said, there were several disappointments. The pool area did not match the photos online. The chairs were much more basic than pictured, the surrounding area was concrete instead of brick, and the overall atmosphere felt less luxurious than expected. The shower water pressure was very weak. The room door was difficult to open and had to be pulled firmly to fully latch when closing. While walking through the halls, I noticed several room doors that appeared closed but could have easily been pushed open because they had not latched properly. There were also a few smaller issues. The coffee cup lids did not fit properly, and the breakfast buffet was mediocre, especially for the $18 price. I even noticed a dirty plate mixed in with the stack of clean plates. On the positive side, a regular cup of coffee from the café was reasonably priced at $3.22. While the room was generally clean, I did find a hair and a makeup stain on one of the pillows. Overall, the stay was decent thanks to the friendly staff and comfortable bed, but the property did not quite live up to the expectations set by the photos and amenities.

The only upgrade to the property I can recommend is the landscaping in the back court yard. Very overgrown and scarce looking.

About an hour after checking out, my wife realized she had accidentally left her wallet in our room. We immediately returned to the hotel. Since I was with our three children, I stayed in the car while my wife went inside to speak with the front desk. Unfortunately, the experience that followed was incredibly frustrating. The front desk employee repeatedly contradicted themselves, first saying the room had already been cleaned, then saying it hadn't, and continuing to go back and forth. After making my wife wait 30 to 40 minutes, they simply handed her a website to file a lost item claim instead of making a genuine effort to help. At that point, I went inside and asked to speak with a manager because it was obvious we were being given the runaround. I want to recognize the manager, who handled the situation professionally. They personally escorted me to Room 520, which was still in the process of being cleaned. I found my wife's wallet exactly where it had been left. Because our children were becoming restless, we quickly left without checking the wallet's contents. The next day, while my wife was grocery shopping, she realized the emergency $100 bill she always keeps in her wallet was missing. There is no legitimate reason for anyone cleaning the room to have gone through the contents of a guest's wallet. The only conclusion we can draw is that someone took the money. That is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious breach of trust. This incident doesn't just reflect poorly on the individual responsible--it damages the reputation of the entire hotel. Guests should never have to worry that hotel employees will search through their personal belongings or steal from them. While I appreciate the manager's professionalism, it does not erase the fact that an employee's unethical behavior turned what had been a great stay into an experience I cannot recommend. I sincerely hope hotel management thoroughly investigates who was assigned to clean Room 520 on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and takes appropriate action. No guest should have to question whether their belongings are safe after checking out.
