They also have outdoor dining space. We hopped from the first floor to the second floor, room to room, and it was a fun experience. There was live music, the gaming rooms were mostly full while the arcade room was pretty empty. This space is also dog friendly, so you can bring your pups. The food and drinks were decent too. As an out of shape old grandma the cave return walk was a bit challenging for me but worth every muscle ache.

As I understand it, The Shed is one of several businesses under the collective (literal and figurative) roof of The Stovehouse. This review is for The Shed, specifically.** The Shed is a little more built out than the name might imply, though it is an outdoor-ish space. I visited in early winter so there were floor lamps to heat up the, largely, outdoor space. Rows of metal tables and chairs (think 'backyard') allowed for seating and eating and the venue set up two bars for drinks. Food & drink were handled in-house. We enjoyed bbq (okay), local beers, well drinks (strong), and other non-memorable noshes. There's not much of an ambiance to be found: a brick wall, concrete floor, curtains for privacy (there's a ceiling so there is shelter), and a small stage (risers, really). Restrooms are across from the space (easy access but not in the immediate area). We had a DJ. I don't know if he was supplied by the venue or not. He was fine. Fun and engaging, he did his best. But, you know, work offsite... not a party. Parking was a breeze and the space was easy to find on the campus. There's not a lot to work with re the space but for a low-impact, small-frills get together, it does the job. *Such that it is. **If you visited a business in a shopping mall, surely you'd review the business and not the mall, right?

The people who run it painted such a hospitable picture of what our event would be like. With such a beautiful venue the owner's of this property were far from hospitable during our event. We had to buy extra hours to go to the venue the day before the wedding to decorate, and it was about 50 degrees inside the place and no one would turn on the heat for us. The next day at the wedding we got there again 3 hours before to finish decorating and take the wedding photos, and again with over 5 requests that the heat be turned on for us the owner's answer was, " once your guests arrive and there are 200 people in here it will be warm enough". Ok, great, but what about the 30+ family members who were there to help facilitate the wedding while freezing our tails off for 3 hours?! We had the placed booked until 10pm, and had to have everything and everybody out by then, and at 7:15pm the owners started putting pressure on us to take down all the decorations and get them out of there on time. The owner's were giving us the stink eye half the time standing around watching us as if we were going to steal the wood off the barn. I know from my years of experience with the hospitality industry that this family who owns the place has a lot to learn about taking care of the guests who pay their bills. The place is ran by a family of four. The whole group of them acted like we were an inconvenience to them as if they had an event the next day that was more important then ours. Our bride was very close to tears with the stress of pushing her guests out the door when we had over 2 hours left that we paid for. I think for the money we paid we could have had our event at a venue who knows what hospitality is. Instead our family is left with a bitter taste knowing that we didn't get what was promised to us. I hope that this review will help other Brides/Grooms and families make the right decision to not have their wedding at this venue. There are plenty of other places out there and sorry to say I will remember this day not by the beautiful wedding that we had, but by the fact that the people in charge of making it special could care less about our family or guests. The owner's need to do a crash course in how to treat their guests and make sure there are no misunderstandings, shortcomings, or stink eyes flying around the place when we are trying to enjoy our special day.

The layout of the area was nice (the carpenter bees were curious), didn't see a waterfall but the stable was converted into a reception/dinner area. With the lights strewn up, it was pretty. It literally was just a venue. It took a lot of work, planning and manpower from the groom's side to transform the ceremony and reception areas into what there were. Like the other review said, bring a sweater--- even on a summery day, it still got cold.

The location is incredibly central--I was able to walk to great restaurants, grab drinks nearby, and still hit my step goals without even trying. It made exploring downtown Huntsville effortless. The unit itself was quiet and comfortable. Whether I was relaxing after a day out or getting ready to head into town, it felt like a perfect home base. We arrived late, and the back gate on Goss Road had closed at 9 PM. We had to go around, but then we found the place no problem at all We stayed for two nights, and had a fantastic stay. The room was large, and everything was spotless. The beds were very comfortable, and a kitchenette complete with dishes, cups, and silverware, as well as a fridge and microwave, was provided. It made it nice, because we didn't have to order in for food. the PX, the commissary, as well as a mini Mart are close by to buy groceries. They also sell food, drinks, and other sundries in the lobby for a reasonable price. There is also a free self-service Laundry available, all you have to do is provide your own detergent. Breakfast was fantastic with a good number of choices. The Biscuits were amazing, as was the sausage gravy they served the first morning we were there. Hey.... If you screw up biscuits and gravy in Alabama, you might as well turn in your membership card......:). :). Everybody at the hotel was fantastic, and we had a great stay for a very reasonable price.
