My wife and I got married at the Monterey Beach Station in May 2024 and had a great experience! From the beginning, the team at Monterey Beach Station was professional and helpful - they answered all our questions and quickly prepared a quote that was competitive and within our budget. Once we signed the contract, we were handed over to our Event Coordinator - Makenna - who was our dedicated contact through the planning and day-of. Their company includes both the venue AND the caterer - sounds like their company started as a catering company, and the food was phenomenal! To taste their food and select our event menu, we attended a group tasting with about a hundred other people who were hosting events with their company...was a super smart approach, because we got to see them prepare and serve food for a large group in buffet-style service, as it would be at our wedding. While all of the necessary items for a successful event are already included in the contract, beware of added costs for little "extras", such as the outdoor string lights...these string lights would create a beautiful aesthetic, but we did not use them and still had plenty of light outside once the sun set, because the building has outdoor lighting. My friend recently had a wedding at the Monterey Beach House, so this is my experience as the Maid of Honor. Logistics: - There are two parking lots within walking distance of the building. From the parking lot, you can access the building via a dirt path used by walkers and cyclists - The outside of the building is a little misleading as the inside is very pretty - There are options if you want a photo booth from a surfboard theme they have to bringing in your own - The venue can host quite a large party with numerous tables (I think we had about 12 tables at this wedding with 10 people per table). I saw two setups during my visit, so I know they are flexible with sizing, tables, decoration, etc. - We had two bars at the table, which allowed for a lot of flexibility and space for guests to not have to crowd around one bar and wait in a long line. We had the most amazing wedding at MBS! The staff was incredible (special shout out to our coordinator Frankie!). When the sun was setting and then the lights came on everything was so beautiful. My brother, a former chef, also noted the food was delicious. The whole team was so flexible with our menu, seating arrangements, timing ect. They offered a list of suggested vendors (with the flexibility to choose your own as needed) and we chose off their list. My husband and I had the most perfect wedding we could have ever dreamed of thanks to the Monterey Beach Station and the team that helped put it all together. We wanted something close to town and casual yet elegant, and this place checked all of the boxes. What sold us was that it is the only beachfront wedding venue in Central California, and they make that the highlight of the day. From the ceremony, to beach games during cocktail hour, to bonfires and smores at night, everything is focused around the beach while still having the traditional dinner and reception inside. We had Francesca as our venue coordinator and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly attentive, organized, and relaxed throughout the entire process. It made me feel confident that we were going to have an amazing day knowing how calm and assured she was. Francesca really made the planning process soooo easy - all we had to worry about was picking the food, linen colors, some decorations, and figuring out table arrangements. I couldn't imagine a smoother planning process. And the staff during the day was so wonderful and fun - some of them even joined us on the dance floor! We were able to fully enjoy our day because Francesca and her team made everything so flawless. We could not have asked for better, and weeks later we are still relishing in how beautiful that day was. A lot of our guests have told us over and over again that our wedding was the BEST wedding they've ever been to, and we owe so much of that to the Monterey Beach Station. We had the pleasure of having my moms 50th birthday at the Beach House and let me tell you, you're a fool if you have an event anywhere else! Not only is the view unbeatable, but David, his wife Brenda, and their staff are some of the best you'll find around. Not only did they effectively communicate with us prior to the event, but they made sure to assist us with any special requests we had. They were kind, friendly and efficient. They not only helped us with the visualization of the event, but they turned our vision into a reality. From the center pieces to the napkins and the outside deck to the awesome DJ, every bit of the party was absolutely fantastic! They even thought of the little details we didn't even think about! They helped us transform their space into a classy champagne party with a breathtaking view of the ocean. And, since it was such a gorgeous night, our guests enjoyed the outside party deck where they drank, talked and danced until the party ended. But, at the end of the night, my mom turned to my family and I and said, "this was the best birthday I've ever had" and for that, I'm forever grateful to David, Brenda and their team. This review is long overdue. This venue seems very beautiful and I'm sure it is! But the people that run it are not good people. The pandemic was no one's fault but many other wedding vendors were willing to work with us to refund or compensate for our wedding when everything was shut down. Yes, the contract says non-refundable but when it also says unless force majeure event (which I'm pretty sure the pandemic was), they didn't stand by their contract. When questioned they said "we have a business to run" well, if we were going to go the excuse route- we were having a baby. Wouldn't recommend Events by Classic to anyone. read more

Del Monte Beach House, you guessed it, fronts the beautiful Del Monte Beach. One of my favorite venues for a fun island-inspired party, I was excited the Beach House was the chosen site for our Christmas party. Since it was a nighttime party, most of the festivities took place indoors. There was an outdoor beach set up too for those willing to brave the cold, complete with swaying palm trees, tiki lamps, a fire pit and a s'more station. The catered menu consisted of oak grilled tri tip, chicken, lemon herb rice pilaf, tossed green salad, corn on the cobb with sweet cream butter, French rolls and a dessert bar and a wine and coffee bar. The food was all delicious, especially the chicken, rice pilaf and mini lemon bundt cakes. If it was my event, I probably would have selected the oak grilled salmon, shrimp, Maui spareribs or Italian sausage. That's me though. Beachcomber Kelley, the house DJ and emcee, is one talented guy and really made it a memorable holiday party. He provided some great entertainment throughout the evening, including an entertaining dance contest and a lively conga line. Along with some fun music, there's a pool table, ping pong table, bocci ball court, a surf board photo prop, the popular photo booth and a tiki bar. Monterey Beach Party throws a great party. Keep the Beach Party on your radar for your next special event. I hope to see this beachfront venue again soon. read more

I personally did not have the honor of getting married here but I will say this: I contacted Monterey Beach Party for a quote regarding a wedding on the beach. After requesting proposals from a million other vendors, it's hard to keep them all straight- but MBR is unique, their website is informative, I love the all-inclusive packages which help take out the added stress which comes from deciding little details due to wedding planning, and above all, the requested quote came delivered to my email in a timely manner PLUS the person who was communicating with me seemed like a real human whose response was actually very warm, and he actually followed up after the initial quote when I did not respond (unlike other vendors who just shoot off a quote and never follow up). A lot of the responses from other vendors are very robotic and you can tell all they want is your money, but MBR seems like a fun place who actually cared about acquiring your business and cares about your interests. I did tell them that I was choosing a destination wedding as my venue so I would not be using MBR however I did thank them so much for their follow-up and kindness- and if I had chosen to get married in California, would have definitely considered them as a candidate for my beach venue. read more

After searching high and low for reception venues in Monterey we stumbled upon this place and it has been nothing but WONDERFUL! We had our reception a week ago and people are still telling us how great the food was and what a fabulous venue. The inside is a wonderful surprise with pool table and foosball. The food selection is good size but most of all extremely delicious. Definitely not your average reception food, way better. The staff is beyond accommodating and very pleasant to work with. Even though I am local I still had tons of questions and each time they were more than happy to help. Each and every person was friendly, upbeat and just overall pleasant. Monterey Beach Party ROCKS!!! Monterey Beach Party is a dream come true. I worked with them for our wedding, but I have also worked with them years ago on a corporate teambuilder. Both experiences were out of this world amazing; my co-workers still talk about how fun that corporate teambuilder was. The staff is incredible - Taylor, Heather, Kati, Beachcomber Kelley, Anna Marie, Chef Claire - and others! From day one, they were gracious, helpful, accommodating and said YES to every request. Their prices are (almost) all-inclusive so the cost covers the wedding & reception - no surprise fees or gratuities! I was blown away by their willingness to create a vegan menu. We provided a suggested menu and Heather worked with the chef to make her magic. Everyone at our wedding, many of whom normally eat meat and dairy, loved the food! Location - they're located directly on the beach. It's a perfect location for a beach wedding because when the wedding ends, you just walk up a few steps and you're at the reception. The inside is decorated to inspire elegance with gorgeous views of the ocean, and houses fun games. Lots of laughter. It was perfect for our guests! DJ Beachcomber Kelley is a dream emcee. He is warm, inviting and always greeted us during our visits to the beach house. He knows it in and out and gave us a "play by play" so that we could really get a sense of what would happen. He worked with us meticulously on the music and even met separately on his own time with our officiants so they knew the space. He was sweet to call me the morning of our wedding to let me know "all is good..." so I didn't worry. I love his enthusiasm, his passion for music, the way he keeps the crowd moving, and the table games. We had some special requests around starting songs at specific times, or cutting songs 1/2 way through and things like that. Our wedding was 1/10/15 and it was so far beyond anything we could have ever tried imagining! Not only are we ready to do it all over again, but our guests keep asking if we are planning a one year anniversary party! Cannot say enough about the whole staff! We started with a call to narrow down our options with guest number and what we had in mind. My husband (fiancé at the time) and I both always wanted a beach wedding and we were estimating about 220 guests. The moment we walked onto the property we looked at each other and smiled because we both knew Del Monte Beach House was the perfect location for us! From the start, Kati, David, Dana... He did a quick walk through of what our ceremony and reception would entail and from there the countdown began! Kati and Kelley were our main point of contacts and they made the process so easy especially since we planned our wedding from the East Bay and we aren't local. Down to every detail of linens, up lighting, food, cake table, napkin display, ceremony seating arrangements (which we did in a curved half circle fashion and loved it!), and the music! Everything was exactly how we asked and more! We also worked with David, Brenda and Anna Marie and they couldn't have been sweeter! They recommended local florists and photographers and made our decisions so much easier. They literally guided us every step of the way, way more than they should have! We can't say enough good about the beach house, not to mention the weather in January turned out beautiful! The food was delicious... I ate everything on my plate at both the tasting and the wedding (and they say you don't have time to eat at your own wedding, I sure made time for this deliciousness!). They all work as a family and they made us feel like family. We ended up having 186 guests which was great because we were worried about spacing but it turned out perfect, we even had room to do the slideshow! Where do you take a couple hundred people from Silicon Valley for a daytime department celebration? To the beach of course! Our team works hard- and then they were ready to P L A Y hard! The Beach House Monterey was the perfect location. Wonderful food, great staff, and so ideal because they are literally right on the beach! They not only supplied a Party Magnet-Master of Ceremonies, Energy-generating Emcee Extraordinaire; Beachcomber Kelly! He was the ideal entertainer for our full day event! The Beach House planner Victoria helped me locate local vendors, for things like Henna painting, Bollywood dancing, etc. Kelly met with me ahead of time and connected me with Monterey Bay Kayak's who fitted us with over 75 Kayak and Paddleboard rentals- All making this a perfect party! Thank you owners David, Brenda,- you not only supplied a great venue (to offer a well deserved break for the brilliant employees)- but you were there at the event making sure it went off without a hitch! *Note- I would have given a full five stars but was told by staff- that there WAS a public beach shower near the wharf for our folks to wash off, after playing in the ocean that day. This information was inaccurate- there was no place to shower anywhere near this public beach. (I personally spent time looking for it that morning.) I would have brought solar shower bags for this purpose- had i not trusted their guidance. But one strike-out in no way impacted the overall fun we had yesterday- the team was just a little extra salty- hummmm next time we will have to have margarita's with that! Upon planning our dream wedding, Monterey Beach Party was the easiest choice we had to make. When visiting the location and meeting the faces behind name, our search for our perfect wedding venue quickly came to a halt. My husband was away for military training during the time of picking a venue. They were very patient with me, and allowed for me to discuss everything with my better half before making any decisions. As we were quickly approaching the wedding date, my husband and I were (and still are) nearing the end of our chiropractic school education as student Interns. That being said, we truly didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to the "wedding planning" department. With all the little details that arose, Kati Enea was perfect at portraying our vision to their amazing team. We had many out-of-town guests who all said that this was the most relaxed and fun wedding they had been to in a long time. Our wedding began with my husband surprising me with a San Francisco type trolley picking the girls up from where we were getting ready, and the guys being able to hear the horn of this trolley the entire way to the venue. Upon arriving at the venue, everything was set up perfectly. The colors were spot-on, and everything was exactly how we imagined it to look (Thank you Anne-Marie and your staff). The weather was phenomenal (Oct. 12th, 2014) as Kati "promised." The sun was shining, and as Kelley was reading a poem about tides and waves, a giant wave broke in the background as if on cue. Onwards from the ceremony, the guests were welcomed back to the venue during cocktail hour for chips & salsa, and sangria while we took pictures. Beachcomber Kelley welcomed us into the venue with a very creative and personalized spin that was entertaining and a hit! The food was remarkable, and the serving staff was very polite. After dinner and dancing, the outside ceremony was transformed to BBQ pits for some s'mores around the campfire. They have everything available on site of which made it all super easy to pull off. If they don't have something that you require, they do all the grunt work, and make it happen. Stumbling across their webpage was the best thing to have happened when trying to pull off a wedding of this caliber in 6 months. The price was right, and the service was even better! Beachcomber Kelley was an absolute riot to work with as our Officiant and DJ. Prior to the wedding, he would call me just to make sure that we were doing ok with all the planning. He went above and beyond what his duties are in more than one way. He helped coordinate my mom being able to play the piano while I walked down the isle. This was very special to us both. I told him that if he required any extra cable hook-ups that I would purchase these for him. Instead, he insisted that he would personally pick up these items at no expense to us. He is always in a happy mood, and always brightened my day after talking to him. He truly made Josh and I feel special, and aided in how magical the day was overall. He is fantastic in sensing what the family dynamic may be, and keeps everyone busy with the attention always on the bride and groom. As a DJ, he played all the songs we were hoping for, and filled up the rest of the night with tracks of similar genre and style. This made it super easy for us! We felt home, away from home. Our attendees and staff had a wonderful time! We started with appetizers and cocktails on the beach and inside the Beach House. It was one of those pristine Monterey afternoons...the water was blue, the beach was white, colorful chairs, palm trees and tiki torches were set up, the bonfires set and ready to go for after dark. Everything was set up exactly as I had requested...our band was playing and guests were arriving. We kicked off our shoes and wandered around barefoot in the sand! Soon dinner was served and it was fabulous! Strip steak, BBQ'd chicken and all the fixings! And fInally, s'mores on the beach as the sun went down. Then the lights and torches went on, and inside, Beachcomber Kelley started the shenanigans! What a party! Kelley is absolutely NOT to be missed. If you're having a party at the Beach House, he is a must! What a great time we all had...conga lines, games, dancing, light shows...our party didn't wind down until the last bus left for the return trip to the hotel! Kati from Central Coast Events was a pleasure to work with and all the staff onsite were fabulous! They're all so nice and accommodating and made everything so easy. The moment we discovered the Monterey Beach House and checked it out we knew it was the place for us and our wedding. Kati and Kelley were both awesome we felt very comfortable with them. The coordination effort and accommodations for our wants were exceptional. Follow up and responsiveness were prompt and friendly. They allowed us to make our wedding our style. The food was fantastic and many of our guests, some of who are caterers, has nothing but raves, kudos to the chef. After our wedding we received many compliments on how great it was and how awesome Kelley was. Kelley acted as our officiant, DJ, and MC. He is high high energy and you can tell he loves his job. We had the pleasure of having our wedding here a few weeks ago. From start to finish, it was the perfect day! You cannot beat having your ceremony right in the sand, the gorgeous ocean background and the reception right there. The firepits and smores for the night were also a great touch! The food was really good and the chef was so accomodating to my sister's dietairy needs and even a last minute guest who expected a special meal (so sorry!). Everyone was very helpful from day one of booking and planning. The owners are a husband and wife and were present on the day and awesome! We couldn't say enough great things. The all inclusiveness made it very low stress. We utilized a couple extra services like the alter and photo booth. Definitely request the wave to be put out! read more

I LOVED EVERYTHING about the venue, location, atmosphere and the people! The people in office were GREAT to work with (I worked with Katie and loved her!), Kelley the MC and officiant was so sweet, caring, and fun. I always wanted to get married on the sand and the MBP made it possible for me! The servers on the night we so helpful and attentive to everyone's needs FOOD WAS SO GOOD! I was only disappointed in the time, you look forward to this one day and I feel I got more of just a moment. I did not get a lot of time to socialize with my guest every time I did I had something in schedule I needed to be doing. Now I understand and Kelley did get all we needed in our wedding done in a timely manner, I just needed to have more down time to stop and ENJOY my BIG day! My now wife and I were married here late August 2016. I know I selected one star, but there were definitely a lot of good points for the venue. Let's start with those, because I don't want the high points to get buried by the low. Positive: - Obviously very pretty location, and the venue itself is lovely as well. - Food was very good. As the bride and groom, we actually had very little to eat (duh), but a number of our guests had a lot of good things to say about the food. - Kelley (DJ) was a real trooper. I know his taste and style didn't necessarily match up with ours, but man he really went out of his way to make sure the finished project (regarding dj duties) was exactly what we wanted. Cannot sing that dude's praises enough. Negative: General point first - fingers crossed, you only get married once. My wife and I spent over a year planning and dreaming and talking about our big day. The morning afterwards, I think we both felt a little let down because the finished product, what we received, did not line up with what we had hoped for. And it isn't like you get a "redo" - again, fingers crossed. - There were a handful of details that we discussed at length with the coordinator / director that did not make it to the final version of our wedding day. They weren't huge items per se (beach games, table runners, etc), but these were core details that, when we planned to our wedding, we could specifically imagine and look forward to. So when our big day happened and those details that we had spoken with coordinators about were not present... it just didn't feel like OUR wedding, the one we spent all that time looking forward to. - Initially we had been told that one or both of the coordinators / directors would be on hand throughout the night. So when our point of contact ran out the door moments after the ceremony ended, citing a different wedding to go to, it left us feeling not great. We were told "don't worry, someone else will come." That other person never showed up. As the night continued and lots of little things started to pile up (champagne for toasts getting passed out 75 minutes early, meaning we had to urgently send someone out to restock, or food / treat stations not being restocked with core components), there was no one on hand to help out. We had no one there from the venue to work behind the scenes to smooth out those rough edges. And so as a consequence, we felt it. My wife noted that she felt unimportant, or at least, less important than whoever our point of contact was rushing off to support for the rest of the night. I've got to say, I really didn't want my bride feeling unimportant on her wedding day. - And lastly, there were some issues that could have been resolved or handled if there were a bit more attention to detail on the front end. I would certainly take some responsibility here, for not asking to see each item on the bill specifically spelled out, and accepting on good faith that we were getting what we wanted and asked for. I will say that I did ask for an invoice multiple times for multiple weeks before getting one, and that had we received it timely, I would have been able to confirm everything was in there. But as I said, I got the invoice and paid without making a fuss about seeing each item spelled out. Definitely won't make that mistake again, but it is a pity I had to learn that lesson on a day I can't repeat. Also, as some other reviewers mentioned, we didn't get the support decorating / setting up that we had been told we would have. Again, my bad for not specifically asking to see a line item that said this sort of stuff on the final bill and just taking their word, but it's unfortunate that my now wife was rushing around inside the venue handling all the final touches while the rest of us waited outside to start the ceremony, all because we didn't get the support we were expecting. Did our guests feel all of these issues in the same way that we did? No, I don't believe so. But I know they felt some. And more importantly, when we woke up the next morning, we felt like enough went wrong, or didn't happen at all, that we ended up with a wedding that wasn't the one we had been dreaming of. So now we have to settle for the wedding we got instead of the wedding we wanted. One star feels fair. EDIT: The champagne that we had to rush out to replace DURING the wedding because the bartender messed up and started pouring too early? Venue was all too happy to charge us corkage on that as well. read more
