We incorporated both into our wedding day and our guests were continuously wow-d as they moved through the spaces. The venue also needs very minimal decorations for a wedding since it is so grand. We stayed on-site in the Chateau which was so amazing. The grounds are beautiful and it was fun to use the pool and enjoy the many available spaces over our three days there (and the incredible breakfasts!). Stonepine has an amazing team. Oceanne and Ari helped us navigate every detail and gave so much care into the planning of our day. Nathan and Julie were excellent hosts in the Chateau and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The wedding truly could not have been a more beautiful or special day.

Well worth the money to have an stress-free (less stressful) day. My husband and I chose the Elite package because it was the best fit for our 150-guest list. It didn't really matter because the eight of us had the continental breakfast in the common room every morning and there was plenty of coffee available there. For breakfast they had coffee cake, fruit, hard boiled eggs, granola, and juices. I brought additional food for everyone, which the staff didn't mind. Everyone liked the continental breakfast. We ate at the restaurant on Friday evening. I made reservations well in advance, which was a good thing because it was quite busy. They set us up in a private dining room with a window. I had the special prime rib because it was so good last time I dined there. I ordered it medium rare and it was delicious again, except for the very center, which was so rare I couldn't cut it. The mashed potatoes and veggies that accompanied it were very good. Others ordered ribs and burgers, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The waitress was quite busy running around to all her tables, but she was as attentive as she could be with so many diners. I love the peace and natural beauty of Los Laureles Lodge and will probably always stay there when in Carmel Valley.

It's a great spot for small events (less than 50 people). Acoustics are poor due to the high ceiling, so I recommend a sound system setup with multiple portable speakers so no one misses anything shared by the host or guest speakers. The meal was delicious. I had mushroom pasta Alfredo, but other selections included grilled salmon & breaded chicken breast. Each were nicely presented & flavorful. Beverages were available at a station only, but the room was so tightly packed with tables & chairs that movement was limited so I went thirsty. The servers weren't available to assist. Unfortunately, the lunch wasn't served by table; so guests sat with their hot meals cooling rapidly while one type of entree was served at a time. This is very bad etiquette & leave the guests feeling uncomfortable, especially with cold food when everyone is finally served. Food service was delayed long past the end of the speaker's program, so most people left before dessert was served. In fact, many people were unable to stay for the weird entree service & missed it. Whatta waste since the luncheon was hosted by a nonprofit. View is exceptional, but table service needs a skilled event manager who can 'read the room' & prompt the Chef and servers to provide the main course in a more timely way. Hopefully, the nonprofit received a substantial discount for this poorly managed meal.

Okay, I need to come clean. I haven't stayed in an old school, motor inn type motel in probably…read more25-30 years. But we were looking for a Carmel Valley, low price motel that would be clean, get a good nights sleep, and take a shower. So we took a chance with this property....and it turned out to be fine. This motel met the criteria above. With its proximity to Carmel Valley Village, it was perfect. There is one thing that I need to point out to possible guests, their whole 'office hours' (8:30am-5pm) is a real thing. Clearly the Owners are not trying to provide any real customer service when they offer their guests coffee and pastries for breakfast, but then keep the office locked until 8:30am. I wish I could go to work at 8:30 am. This is rare and odd when you are in the hospitality business to only provide guests service between these hours. But make no mistake, they are very clear about their unique and strict office hours...I just couldn't believe it. So clearly I had to leave for work prior to 8:30am and missed my coffee and pastry. But if you saw me, you would say, "that guy does not need a pastry". If you need a clean, no frills motel with great water pressure, Hidden Valley inn will work just fine.

Victoria at reception was very accomodating in checking me in and showing me the room, number 29, which though spartan was fine. Around 8 pm I heard a constant dull noise like a machine, maybe an air conditioning unit but I never discoverd the source. It made rest impossible but finally a few hours later it ceased. However, then I heard a woman talking and this went on until around 2:30 am. Since it was in the middle of the night there was no one to call for help. At 3:30 am I went online and found a bed and breakfast which allowed me to sleep well. At 7:30 am, anxious to leave, I brought my key to the office. No one except cleaning was there and I explained everything. They took my key. Later, I repeatedly called and was told that Victoria was at another location and that an email had been sent to her. I spoke with a woman by phone who said, We have your number on file to contact you. She told me the number and I corrected her: That is the wrong number and email. She sent the email to the wrong place and I subsequently spoke with my husband who told me he had received this strange email. The upshot was that not only did they charge me for the horrible night but also the day that I returned the key at 7:30 am. I was told that the balance would be refunded. I will never do business with this place and urge anyone else to avoid them, too. I am initiating procedings with the credit card company to get back the money they took from me.
