We incorporated both into our wedding day and our guests were continuously wow-d as they moved through the spaces. The venue also needs very minimal decorations for a wedding since it is so grand. We stayed on-site in the Chateau which was so amazing. The grounds are beautiful and it was fun to use the pool and enjoy the many available spaces over our three days there (and the incredible breakfasts!). Stonepine has an amazing team. Oceanne and Ari helped us navigate every detail and gave so much care into the planning of our day. Nathan and Julie were excellent hosts in the Chateau and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The wedding truly could not have been a more beautiful or special day.

Well worth the money to have an stress-free (less stressful) day. My husband and I chose the Elite package because it was the best fit for our 150-guest list. Unfortunately, the reservation process was a major issue. Despite multiple calls ahead of time confirming room types and occupancy, several reservations were incorrect upon arrival, leaving guests scrambling to find rooms, adjust arrangements, or pay unexpected additional costs. The property itself is rustic but clean. We did not experience any bugs or critters, and the grounds are actually quite nice to explore. The rooms, however, are very basic and dated, with dark wood paneling, minimal amenities, cramped bathrooms, and inconsistent shower temperatures. Our decorative headboard was not securely attached and fell off the wall, which was unsettling, especially since one of the few outlets was underneath it. The refrigerator worked well, and the front desk provided extra towels when requested. The complimentary breakfast was simple but adequate (coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice, melon, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee cake). We did not use the restaurant or bar during our stay. The property has a pool and event spaces that looked nice, although they seemed quiet during our summer weekend visit. Bonus: there are two resident cats, one very friendly and one more mangy. The best part of our stay was Colin at the front desk. He was kind, helpful, and went above and beyond,helping with questions, last-minute deliveries, and even assisting with a wedding-related printing request. Overall, I'd rate this as a solid 3-star hotel. It's clean, safe, and has a charming rustic setting, but the rooms and amenities are very basic. I would consider staying again only if the price was reasonable and options were limited.

We planned to head back to our hotel around 10pm, only to discover a flat tire on our car. We attempted to change it, but the hills/slope of the area made it difficult to keep the car lifted. Staff member Ash (and 2 other gentlemen, not sure if they worked there) literally saved the day. Ash helped us out by providing her jack and assisted with removal of the flat tire with the spare. She then ensured the wheel was safe to drive and informed us of both the nearest gas station for air and mechanic for a repair. I can't thank her enough for turning a terrible moment to an amazing memory.

Okay, I need to come clean. I haven't stayed in an old school, motor inn type motel in probably…read more25-30 years. But we were looking for a Carmel Valley, low price motel that would be clean, get a good nights sleep, and take a shower. So we took a chance with this property....and it turned out to be fine. This motel met the criteria above. With its proximity to Carmel Valley Village, it was perfect. There is one thing that I need to point out to possible guests, their whole 'office hours' (8:30am-5pm) is a real thing. Clearly the Owners are not trying to provide any real customer service when they offer their guests coffee and pastries for breakfast, but then keep the office locked until 8:30am. I wish I could go to work at 8:30 am. This is rare and odd when you are in the hospitality business to only provide guests service between these hours. But make no mistake, they are very clear about their unique and strict office hours...I just couldn't believe it. So clearly I had to leave for work prior to 8:30am and missed my coffee and pastry. But if you saw me, you would say, "that guy does not need a pastry". If you need a clean, no frills motel with great water pressure, Hidden Valley inn will work just fine.

Around 8 pm I heard a constant dull noise like a machine, maybe an air conditioning unit but I never discoverd the source. It made rest impossible but finally a few hours later it ceased. However, then I heard a woman talking and this went on until around 2:30 am. Since it was in the middle of the night there was no one to call for help. At 3:30 am I went online and found a bed and breakfast which allowed me to sleep well. At 7:30 am, anxious to leave, I brought my key to the office. No one except cleaning was there and I explained everything. They took my key. Later, I repeatedly called and was told that Victoria was at another location and that an email had been sent to her. I spoke with a woman by phone who said, We have your number on file to contact you. She told me the number and I corrected her: That is the wrong number and email. She sent the email to the wrong place and I subsequently spoke with my husband who told me he had received this strange email. The upshot was that not only did they charge me for the horrible night but also the day that I returned the key at 7:30 am. I was told that the balance would be refunded. I will never do business with this place and urge anyone else to avoid them, too. I am initiating procedings with the credit card company to get back the money they took from me.
