The MPC Library has an awesome collection of books, dvds, etc. There are plenty of computers and even when it's busy you should be able to find one. There are also a bunch of study rooms that you can check out that are nice and quiet. I like that the 2nd floor allows talking and the third floor is totally quiet. That way you have options if you're there to study alone or there to study with a group. There are some comfortable chairs to sit in and study too! The staff is also super nice, friendly, and very helpful. I can't recommend it enough!

But as someone who lives elsewhere, I don't find it incredibly welcoming or cohesive. Things like "dips" at some intersections, lacking any kind of warning signage, don't make me yearn to go back. Aesthetically, there are too many strip malls and fast food restaurants. And the traffic flow on Fremont Blvd. all too often sucks.

They are open from 10am-4pm, Thursday through Sunday, closed Monday through Wednesday. The address is on Pacific St (Google) and Madison St (Yelp), but the entrance to the jail is located behind Colton Hall on Dutra St. it is self guided and will probably only take you 5 minutes to walk in, read the signs at the different exhibits and snap a few pictures. If you are visiting Colton Hall Museum (where the first signing of the California Constitution took place), then you should check out the old jail.

Upon my arrival to this quaint seaside town, I had no place to stay, but somehow, after a few dozen drinks and a spirited conversation with some GIs where I kindly reminded them that it was the Navy that got Bin Laden, I ended up at the Monterey Jail. The check in process was smooth and, while I admit they are a little heavy into the 'dominatrix' theme, I still enjoyed it. There are only a few rooms, and although I remember specifically requested a room with a view, that request was sadly not honored. After the initial disappointment of the room wore off, I realized what a gem of a B&B I had literally stumbled into!! Located right in the heart of old Monterey, I was pleasantly surprised to find Colton Hall, the Museum of Art, and the Monterey Library within a 2 minute walk. Most frequent visitors to Monterey are familiar with the unmistakable ocean smell of the town; Monterey Jail has a distinctive smell that reminds me of everything BUT the ocean....a combination of body odor, urine, and stale booze is probably close to accurate. Food choices on the property do admittedly leave something to be desired, but they are still a hell of a lot better than eating at Restaurant 1833! Your fresh calamari will have to wait until you are 'sprung' from this facility, but once you are out, take a short stroll to the wharf and get your fill. Even though my stay was short, it was very memorable. Monterey Jail is a true reflection of the lovely City of Monterey.....I recommend visiting early and often!!

Outstanding junior community college, I highly recommend for getting basic required courses…read morecompleted in relatively small class sizes, for cheap to no cost. They even have high school programs to earn college credits. I took extra night summer classes to complete my bachelors degree, decades ago. I took real estate classes on line and on campus to get my real estate license. Trade school classes are excellent for police, fire, nursing, medical/dental assistance, mechanics, etcetera. Many seniors take cooking, gardening, photography, exercise, art, dance, theater and other programs. Fabulous to stay active and exercise/move! Public schools are so affordable, compared to say, Williams at $70,000 plus per year! Really, if you have a child interested in higher education: perhaps they should aim for a 4.0 grade point average at a junior college, then get a scholarship at a state university for the last two years. I moved to California, after graduating one year early (at 17) with honors, from a public high school. Went to UCLA, at 17 with the hill side strangler roaming the neighborhood. Classes were 500 plus students in auditorium halls, for the basic mandatory courses. Ridiculous!!! Interesting adventure for a country girl from Massachusetts, but I do not recommend. I finally graduated UCSC, correct a banana slug: after Wheaton College, a year in Osaka Japan and other experiences. However, I always treasured the value of the community colleges, I attended. Cabrillo and MPC primarily, but the state law school I graduated from, was also excellent and cost effective (MCL). Enjoy your life and aim for less debt.

I was told he got accepted to the University Of Edward Waters, in Jacksonville Florida purple city aka Ricky Waters camp. Onlookers also mentioned he received prospect letters from the (W) Wyoming University cowboys D1 & Iowa State University the cyclones D1. The most important thing for any visitor is to ensure you bring all required documents, to avoid making several trips. The employee at the front will help you double check or get the necessary forms. You are not allowed to go in as groups currently. The Real ID process goes in three steps. First you will fill out the online application at the computer kiosk, then line up to have your information entered and evidence checked. You will then be directed to take a photo, upon which you'll receive a temporary ID (actual one takes a few weeks to get to new address). The employees are helpful if you ask the right questions. For those who can't join their family members during the visit, I recommend visiting the park across the street or hanging out at the benches behind the DMV.

Then zip through the actual process, pay your $50. You're done, there were exactly 6 people in the whole DMV.
