I was working there August 23rd to September 1st and I want to let everyone know not to bring their child here and would not recommend anyone works here because the employees she has at the school only talk among themselves and nobody was there to train me and I wasn't even shown the schedule until I asked for it. All the teachers are unprofessional wearing short shorts and flip flops and another teacher in the 3 year old room wore a dress that showed too much. I walked into the office in the back and they were making a video shaking their butts and recording. Another day it was everyone's lunch and children were napping. One of the teachers cut another teachers hair in the building. This is so unprofessional and disgusting! I cant imagine any child seeing that or a parent. The teachers are constantly on their phones inside and outside for Recess and nobody wears a mask or has gloves for changing a child from wet clothes or pee/poop in the 4 and 5 year old room. No gloves for snack or lunch and everything is served from the dishes they cook the food in. Nobody has a set schedule for lunch, you have 30 minutes for lunch after that you have to come back and just sit their until 2:30pm when children wake-up. All the teachers are loud during when children are napping, I feel bad for them!! I definitely would not recommend this school. There are better schools and more professional ones. HUGE shout out to Montessori Children's Center! They do such an amazing job caring for each INDIVIDUAL child. Our son started preschool earlier than I would have chosen due to getting pregnant with TWINS. I was so nervous, but he has blossomed since starting there, and looks forward to going every day. Every member of their staff knows him so well and goes above and beyond to make sure he has what he needs to have a great day. I never feel like he's being treated like "just another kid," and I really appreciate that they keep their class sizes really small, so all the kids get individualized attention. This morning one of the teachers got him an extra (gluten free) snack b/c he was hungry when he arrived, then they welcomed him into the four year old room because he wanted to do an activity which was not offered in the two year old room. They not only provide an exceptional learning environment for him, but they CARE for him. All day, every day. I also love that with such small class sizes, he knows every child who attends MCC, and has build so many lasting friendships (even at two years old!!!) We are blessed that we have such a wonderful place for him to spend the day! read more

We have had our kids at MCC for over 3 years now. It is without a doubt the only place I trust in the Des Moines area to care for them. Our son started at 2 years old and is now 5. Day to day, I see all of the valuable skills he learned from the great staff over that time, helping him prepare for kindergarten. Creativity, analytical skills, reading, writing, and an overall passion for learning new things! He loves attending, so much that he gets upset when we arrive late in the morning, because he doesn't want to miss any of the learning activities! We now also send our twins, who graduated from the 2 year old room to 3 year olds, and they are blossoming and learning everyday. Each morning, they run in to hug their teachers and don't want to leave when we pick them up in the afternoon. Thank you, MCC! read more

Amela, We are disappointed your employment didn't work out during your probationary period here at MCC. We strive to create a loving environment for our families. We follow all protocol as given to us by DHS. It is really disappointing to see all the negative comments posted all over the internet (within one hour of your dismissal) because we felt you were not a good fit for us. Our families deserve love and care in our school and outside. The negative, false and argumentative comments made by you have given us peace that we made the correct decision to move on. Truly the best! MCC combines the Montessori approach with a more typical 21st century preschool environment, providing the best of both worlds! I pulled my son out of a more typical preschool and moved him to MCC just after he turned 3, as the overly structured program was not working well for my fidgety little boy. Other Montessori's were stiff and uncomfortable, but MCC was different. I made the move. My son's attitude and behavior changed within weeks! Finally, he was able to burn off energy WHILE learning!!
