While, they're not as strict as other Montessori daycares, I find that a good approach. Children are meant to be children and they discover with play. Applying strict rules to everything restricts kids imagination but that doesn't mean that they are not given structure. As far as I've seen, they keep the kids active during the summer, and whenever weather permits during the winter. I like that they don't have TV and their playground is great. They are right across from a park so they go there during the summer sometimes. The only thing Im not too happy about is when I've called to let them know about something, I feel like i'm always rushed by the person at the other end.

Cadence was the only location that seemed to truly understand the need for this type of programming for families. In addition to a program that fit our family schedule we were impressed with the dedication and commitment of the director, Ms. Theresa. She is one of the hardest working and most pleasant people we have come across since moving to Des Moines. Our daughters primary teacher is Ms. Nina who has loyally and cheerfully served Cadence for 11 years. 11! She handles our daughter so well- is patient, caring and takes time to talk to us about her classroom development nearly everyday. Ms. Megan's classroom occassionally teams up with Ms.Nina's and her Efforts with her classroom are noticible. She is creative, playful and intentional- both women are. I Admire their profession so much and my family is deeply grateful for the role they are playing in shaping our three year old Girl. She's blossoming in ways we have long hoped for and it's in large part due to the Cadence community. Thank you!

Primrose has been wonderful in more ways than I expected! -The school is new, spacious and beautiful! -The owners are lovely! They give the school a nice feel of a family environment. -The food they serve is healthy and made on site. -Because the school opened recently, the class was small and my girl just loved it from the start, and now she is loving that the class is growing snd she is slowly meeting more children. -The curriculum is great! My girl is learning all about natural resources and other things that are interesting and useful. -When it comes to COVID, they went above and beyond to keep everyone safe (and did more than the bear minimum recommended by the state). They installed air filters that are above the CDC guidelines. Additionally, they are very open and transparent about teachers vaccinations, and really foster a safe environment. I asked other daycares I called if the teachers were planning to get vaccinated - some places just answered: we can't make them, so we don't even ask! Which I know, but that's not enough for me! I highly recommend Primrose School of Urbandale!

Nilsson my son really loved getting in the pool and learning a few things! They did songs, and taught them some safety things, and did some swimming and jumping in the pool all by themselves! He liked the jumping into the pool best I think! Parents are in the pool with the kids and its a really fun half hour class that always ends with some free swimming! Locker rooms are super nice by the pool and they have swimsuit dryers which I had never seen before! This cost is extra, but you can take these classes even without a membership! Good stuff!

We had such a horrible experience at a previous preschool and coming to cadence was such a relief. I have seen sooooo much growth in my 4 and 1 year old. My oldest always talks about how much he has learned each day and how much he loves his preschool teachers. My youngest has started saying more vocabulary words and i couldnt believe how much this 1 year old has learned in vocabulary and his baby sign language that his teachers has taught him. I am beyond impressed with cadence and would 100% recommend to any family. They go above and beyond to create a fun, healthy, safe and learning environment for your kiddos.

Our son started here at 18 months! And we have been here for almost 3 months now. They told us that there would be a transition time for him and the parents and they were so right. But we found that they paid attention to the small stuff and saw he was connecting to a certain teacher and that has really helped feel more at home! I really love how they have a mobile app that gives the parents up dates through the day on what the kids are doing, eating, playing with, learning, and how nap times and diaper changes go! And they send you photos! That really helps the parents feel good about how these long days are going. The meals are varied and so are the snacks! They have both indoor and outdoor time and the school is very clean! The staff is very informative and friendly and I always feel great about dropping him off there! The parents get their own safety code for the door so they can drop by anytime they like! It might be a bit more expensive that other places, but you get what you pay for and I couldn't be happier with our decision. Our song even looks forward to giving the little Apple Tree Bear on the sign a High Five when dropping off or picking him up! Oh so fun! I feel he is developing skills here he would not get at home with busy parents working. And that feels good! The memories that will be made here!
