The school truly nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence in its students. Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. She challenges them academically while also nurturing their confidence and character. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and inspiring school community. Montessori Institute of Broward has played a huge role in shaping Jack into the curious, confident young person he is becoming. Luke aged 5 is also thriving at MIB and i cant wait to see how he progresses.

For example, chemistry may be taught via cooking and biology through a mystery that needs to solved. The headmaster is a graduate of Waldorf (Steiner) school & has brought the excellence of that education to her program. You won't find ANYTHING else like this in South Florida. I can't think of many schools where a child is so well cared for emotionally as well as academically. If you are lucky enough to stumble upon this little gem in South Florida you won't want to pass it up. Unconventional? Yes. However, it WORKS. The children are receiving an A+++ education in an alternative setting with amazing educators who see their 'job' as a calling & are head and shoulders above other educators. I can say that I feel blessed that my son has the chance to attend this school. I could go on and on but I suggest that you check it out for yourself. Also, it is a private school and education of this quality cost money. What better investment is there though really? However, I should mention that that do have tuition assistance and will also help you look for any scholarships that you may qualify for so, don't let the fact that you have to pay tuition deter you from at least checking it out. Where there is a will there is a way. If every child were given a healthy place to grow and learn like this, the world would be a much better place. Heck! We should ALL be seen, honored and celebrated the way students are at this school! It is located in the Jewish Community Center however, it is NOT a religious school BUT it IS a 'spiritual' school in that the students are taught to care for one another, the greater community, the planet and environment and THEMSELVES. This being said, it is NOT some 'Hippy' school. It is a serious program and a lot is offered and expected from the students academically. I would say the classes are more akin to an undergraduate program at a good university. They are certainly far more challenging than a regular high school-private or public. The students are expected to research & write at a college level (They are WELL taught and guided to be able to do so). They all take Latin, do community service as well as internships in fields of their own interest. They research utilizing real scientific publications and are taught to properly use them. This is an exceptional college preparatory program. Upon graduation they should be able to coast on auto-pilot through an undergraduate degree. There is also a STRONG sense of community. No high school 'Clicks'. No one's excluded, there is NO bullying or teasing-PERIOD. All of these 'details' are paid close attention to by the staff. I could go on and on but , see for yourself. The headmaster's name is Wendy Weiner and she welcomes visitors. Mrs. Weiner is an exceptional human being. When she felt that South Florida was lacking an acceptable school for her two lovely daughters to attend--she OPENED her own school! Wow. That alone speaks volumes about her but she is also a warm, kind woman. She's strong and capable in a way that inspires others just through her presence. Her children are both amazing young women and demonstrate what an awe-inspiring mother Wendy is. Her eldest daughter is now attending college where she is a member of a co-ed 'Community Service' Fraternity. Clearly she is following in her parents footsteps and giving back to others. Mr. Weiner has also played an essential part in bringing Conservatory Prep to fruition. He is a warmhearted, friendly and earnest man. He works with sincerity and I swear the man has stealth skills! His modesty and humble way of keeping all the wheels in motion is admirable. A husband and wife team adds to the feeling of community that is rarely found anymore and set's a positive example for the children of a loving, intact marriage. Every detail in this tiny school has been considered and achieved. The students, faculty and parents/guardians form a community that touches my heart and feels more like an extended family than simply an institution of learning. I applied to the school and she did not make the lotto pick so I went on to the BridgePrep of Hollywood Hills. There my daughter did get picked the following week after I applied. The office staff is friendly and Mr Marcelo, the principal greeted me. Fast forward my daughter just graduated Kinder and looking forward to going to first grade. Her teacher Ms. Brevil is excellent. My daughter has learned so much. The principal Mr. Marcelo is super humble and inviting. I live in North Miami Beach area and am willing to drive to Hollywood all over again. I feel the school is in a safe zone. Nice building and well organized.
