The head of school works tirelessly to provide a safe and loving environment for our children. In addition to the beautiful environment and dedicated staff, the school offers a curriculum like no other schools that we visited. My oldest started reading at 3.5 years and read at 2nd grade level prior to transitioning to private school. We are amazed with our daughter's math skills and how meticulous and kind she became. If you want to invest in a school that will support your child's development, visit the Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon. I highly recommend BMSS to every parent seeking school. Best investment ever for our children!

The warm and welcoming attitude of the administration and staff made us feel right at home. I was astonished by the progress that my children made during their first few months attending the school and onwards. BMSS offers a unique and enriched curriculum that not only aligned with my expectations but also suited the growth and development of my children. During their 4 years at BMSS, they achieved success academically, socially and emotionally. I can still see today the lasting impact that this environment made on them. Even more satisfactory was the progress of my autistic child. My husband and I were unaware of his condition until the Head of school kindly shared her observations with us. They literally changed the trajectory of his life. The Montessori education coupled with the school's tireless efforts towards my children's education was second to none. I would recommend the Bilingual Montessori School of Sharon to any parent seeking a remarkable environment for their children where they can acquire lifelong skills.

She has dyslexia along with some other learning issues, which we made very clear to the school during our application. Her teacher, Amy Smith, seems both unwilling and unable to work with students who don't learn in the normal fashion. Amy has been very difficult to work with: she doesn't communicate well and she doesn't follow through on things she says she'll do. With the exception of one administrator, the school has been completely unsupportive of us and our issues. We will be withdrawing both our daughters from the school next year. I would recommend Thacher upper grades for students who are bright, quick, and self-motivated learners. If your child isn't all of those, I would highly discourage you from choosing Thacher. Certainly if you run into problems, you won't find support from the administration. We were warned by a family who had a very similar issue last year. Their daughter was also dyslexic, also had Amy Smith, and also had a horrible experience with the administration. They withdrew their daughter mid-year (forfeiting their tuition) because their daughter was so miserable.

The owner, Miss Clarissa,…read moreteaches at a local Montessori school in Newton and has developed a stellar reputation as a gifted educator within the local Montessori community. She's a respected thought leader and holds a leadership role within the school as well. When she's not there, she spends much of her time at Star Path (weekend, holiday, break programs). What I love about the space is that it is so open, spacious, safe, and welcoming. There are so many activities for the kids to participate in, and it is true to the Montessori spirit where children engage in individual works one at a time to build their memory, tactile, fine motor, and organization skills. There are a bunch of really well-coordinated activities like music, arts, yoga, and cooking classes as well for kids of all ages. We have also been here for several birthday parties. Miss Clarissa does a really good job organizing birthday events, engaging both parents and kids. It is such a nurturing and safe space. It is evident that she really cares about the kids, and we've entrusted her with our little one time and again. We also found the pricing for everything to be quite reasonable. I think you're getting a lot of bang for your buck, especially given the fact that it's not just childcare, but that there is thoughtful programming and intentionality / Montessori theory behind the activities. Worth a close look for weekend / holiday programming + birthdays!

The playgroup teachers, Sandy and Karen, are so very kind and attuned to the children. They truly understand children of this age group, and do a phenomenal job of caring for them, even while encouraging them to explore and grow as individual little people. With a teacher-child ratio of one to three, all of the children get plenty of attention. The atmosphere is relaxed and the space is cosy and warm - just the right size for small children. They go outside every day to play, weather-permitting. They do lots of creative activities - nature play, crafts using natural materials, baking - all of which give the kids a chance to develop manual dexterity as well as social skills. The children learn about sharing, negotiation, and helping one another in such a supportive environment. I was so happy to see my son really begin to form bonds with the other children over the course of that year. He is still very close to one of the other boys from playgroup, and they often proudly talk about how they've been friends since they were two. I can't imagine a gentler introduction to the world of school than the Children's Hours Playgroup. I would (and do) recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone with a two year old child.

The bad: staff members are condescending, non-supportive and lack empathy for children. My child was the only child of color at the center and they didn't recognize Black History Month or Juneteenth but celebrated all other holidays. When I brought this to their attention, Heather, the assistant director's response was: " oh, we will be mindful of that next time." This place truly is non representative of a diverse culture, and the world we live in. I was appauled to know that one of the teachers, whom have been there for over 10+ years made a racist statement to another staff, only for this staff member to notify me. What makes matters worse, is that the owner minimizes the parents concerns and makes excuses for her staff's behavior. If you love your child, and want them to feel included, especially children of color AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. - Victoria B.
