The person on the phone said they'd have to run the insurance card to verify so we went on in. When we got there they wouldn't verify that they would accept our insurance, even with the card, and wouldn't see my wife unless they scanned our credit card in advance. I don't know about the docs but the front desk was not helpful. We left and went a couple blocks down the street to Eminence Urgent Care and it was great.

The receptionist said "if she said she's going to send it off then she's going to send it off" I said "thats why i'm calling, to see if she is GOING to be sending it off, she never told me that she was" & she continued to talk to me sarcastically & rude, NEVER messaged the dr or went to ask, and then said "MY GOSH" before hanging up the phone with me. Ma'am, u need to go work at McDonald's, they love hiring people with your attitude and trust, I'm gonna meet you with the same attitude the next time I see you. Do better. People like YOU in the medical field is WHY the medical field has a bad rep. Glad I don't have to work with people like you.

My name is Elizabeth Johnson…read more I was admitted (on 3/9/26) with the assistance of my neighbor who was kind enough to drive me to the hospital when I was pregnant and throwing up so hard I couldn't see correctly to put a face together. I was admitted and promptly told I "came to the wrong hospital" because I was a pregnant woman. They no longer have a comprehensive women's care center. I was hooked up to an IV and administered fluids. I was promptly un-hooked from IV bags and given 2 CT scans where they couldn't find anything abnormal according to what they verbally told me. They made arrangements for a transport to the hospital where I am supposed to give birth. I waited roughly 8 hours, crying, without any fluids hooked up to my IV or the ability to get food or water. The site where I was given the IV began to ache and throb. I asked initially to have the IV simply replaced and was denied. I asked if I could have it removed and was also denied. I did not want to remove the IV myself and risk injury. My fiancé showed up and offered to drive me himself to the new hospital. Dana told us a lot of things including that we may not be able to get into the accepting hospital as their doors may be locked when we get there. She also told me that my insurance may not cover the services provided there that day because it may not have been a true emergency. The charge nurse, Dana Steele, told me they could remove the IV, but it would result in an immediate discharge. We agreed to this as we were going to then drive to the other hospital. She had another nurse come over and tell me that, "Any time you go to the hospital- you get an IV in the case that you suffer a stroke, etc." Exhausted and in pain, I reiterated that I understood. This new nurse continued to speak over me and get pretty aggressive. I simply reiterated that, "Yes, that's why you are a nurse. You went to medical school and understood all of this." Dana started snapping her fingers at me and pointed towards the door- telling us to leave, and I couldn't be formally discharged at this point. I am a server. I often have to accommodate customers who yell and cause a scene at me because of arbitrary things like how cooked a steak is technically or the amount of time it takes to cook something. I was not that lady to these people. I did not raise my voice, and I did not curse at anyone. I was a pregnant lady who was dehydrated, hungry, scared, and in pain. I later received a bill that states that I am not the only patient on my account. I am listed as a guarantor for some random person named Sibbes Johnson. The only correct information on my billing portal is my email address and name. I tried to contact their billing department from the online 800-number and was forwarded to somewhere in India where a woman told me their systems are down this week and to call back next week. I filed a detailed complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services and was told to again attempt to contact the hospital directly as this is a HIPAA violation- I should not be able to see someone else's home address or personal information. The hospital billing department told me that I need to print this information physically and bring it to the hospital physically to attempt to resolve this. I wish this part of it was easier to resolve, truthfully.

Even though they were packed and busy, they got me in and out quickly. Dr. Baggett listened to my issues and gave me antibiotics and pain meds until I have my root canal next Wednesday. The office is kind of run down looking, but they are supposed to be moving into a new facility any day now. The office staff is normally polite and helpful. Dr Alred herself is soft spoken, patient, and kind. She takes a lot of time with you and gets a thorough history. I was also appreciative of the fact that she answered all of my questions and didn't talk down to me like some doctors have a tendency of doing. They offer in house laboratory services, which is nice than being sent out somewhere else for labs. If you have to call the office for anything, the staff responds to your request in a timely manner.
