May 20: My consultation was scheduled for June 24, and I provided my insurance information at that time. June 24: My appointment was canceled by the office due to staff being out, with the next available appointment not until July 6. July 6: I was informed only after arriving that my insurance could not be verified, despite having been submitted 47 days earlier. After my consultation, I spent approximately 20 minutes locating my policy number and watched the information be given to Vickie. I asked if I should wait while my coverage was verified and was told there wasn't time to complete my treatment plan that day, but that I would receive a call the following day. July 8: After not receiving a call, I contacted the office. Vickie asked if I had found the policy number, although I had already provided it on July 6. I was then asked to contact my insurance company. July 9: I confirmed my insurance was active but still under my maiden name. I accept responsibility for that oversight; however, it could have been addressed well before my appointment had I been notified when my insurance was first submitted. I provided the updated information and was told I would receive my treatment plan on July 10. July 10-16: I received no follow-up. My multiple calls on July 15 and July 16 went unanswered, and when I finally reached someone by calling from a different phone number, I was placed on hold for Vickie and never received a return call. I understand that only one person prepares treatment plans, but repeated promises of follow-up without any communication are unacceptable. It is frustrating to feel as though I have to repeatedly pursue a practice with which I am prepared to spend thousands of dollars. Timely communication and honoring commitments to patients should be a basic expectation.

I left and that night the pain came back even worse, I called the office a lady answered and I explained to her the issue , she said let me look at your chart , guess what ? She saw a cavity and a filling that needed to be replaced ( that's the lie I spoke of earlier that Dr. Luna lied about). I asked to have my records transferred and they gave me this spill about no we don't want you to go anywhere else come back in so we can rectify( excuse me I most certainly will not). I had already set an appointment at a different dentist( amazing chair side manners and experience). The new office informed me they would have my records transferred and not to worry. I have to return to Dr. Luna because I have paid for my procedure already and they have to place my crown , but when I tell you I don't want to because of the experience I had it's just not enough explaining I can do. I would not recommend Dr. Luna to anyone , they claim to be so Christian beware of wolves in sheep clothing, when you are a true child of God you don't have to speak it The ACTIONS WILL SPEAK FAR LOUDER THAN WORDS..

After putting it off for as long as possible (cuz really, who actually *enjoys* going to the…read moredentist?), I finally stopped being a child and worked up the nerve to find a local dentist to frequent. The goal was to find one that was in our insurance network, and also one close enough to allow for mid-workday visits w/out causing too much interruption of the day. So, out of the blue I settled on Valleydale Dental, and apparently my hands are magic b/c I hit the jackpot. The facilities are very easy to find and are very clean and modernly-furnished - the patient area is basically a wide-open space, with "rooms" as you would imagine them (with a flat-panel TV in each, allowing you to try to mentally escape the sounds of soft drilling), but with the 4th wall for the door not exactly there. (Hard to describe, but a very neat setup with privacy not an issue at all actually.) The staff - hygienists, receptionists - are all incredibly personable and down-to-earth, never giving the impression that your visit is an inconvenience to their work schedule (which unfortunately happens quite a bit at doctors' offices these days it seems). The actual DMD, Dr. Gonzalez, is as friendly as a doctor/dentist can be. The guy's got a ridiculous bedside manner, and makes you feel like you're just hanging out with a buddy, who happens to have his hand in your mouth. lol He's absolutely forthcoming about everything he's going to do and is doing, and is not pushy, dry, or nonchalant when it comes to identifying what he thinks next steps should be. He's quick yet thorough in his work, and truly appears to care about doing a great job and with the least amount of discomfort to the patient. Fantastic dentist - could not be happier with the choice. So, if you're looking for a good dentist in town, and are either on this side of town mostly, or don't mind the trek from wherever you are, I *highly* recommend this place. I'd give them 6 stars if I could, that's how impressed I am of the overall experience. I'm already working on recruiting my wife, and will probably hit up a few other family members as well before it's all said and done. I go to UAB dental school it's only 75.00 it is hard to get downtown but this dentist can't even do a cleaning till February 11th ! My sister was a dental hygienist and she did all cleanings ! The dentist only did the checkup and looked at X rays! Then tells you what dental work is needed . If a simple cleaning is 299.00 at this dentist I suggest you find a dentist that's not a scam!

I've had regular cleanings as well as fillings and, most recently, a crown (same day!) at this location. I have zero complaints about any of these interactions. They develop a care plan with you before treatment, so there are no surprises when you're done. My 5-year old daughter also is seen here and she has developed an early enjoyment of going to the dentist, which I know is uncommon. They are so patient and gentle with her and she has no qualms about going for her cleanings. All-in-all, I would recommend this group to anyone seeking dental care.

Once being taken back and getting X-rays, the dentist came in telling me that my gums were inflamed due to me having braces ( I didn't have my wires on, only brackets at that time). After enduring unbearable pain, and making several phone calls expressing my concerns, requesting for appointments or some type of antibiotics for treatment which may have resulted in some relief of the pain, I was told that a deep cleaning SHOULD help with the pain. Finally on April 12,2026, weeks of discomfort and denial of assistance, I contacted an emergency dental clinic, was seen immediately and the diagnosis was I needed a root canal and antibiotics. The infection could have entered my bloodstream, possibly resulting in death. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION FOR ANY SERVICE!!!
