This is a review of the YAPHANK location near Walmart. First impression: very nice decor, but it sadly ends at that. Let me say, to have the boldness to charge a WHOPPING $35 for a regular haircut in today's market and during these difficult times, is a bit of a risk. However, if the service is actually comprehensive and you feel awesome afterwards, I could MAYBE see that it could be "worth" the extra money you are paying as opposed to other shops. The younger gentleman that cut my hair was friendly enough, but I could tell that the experience level was definitely on the lower end. The haircut itself was just "OK", but some major takeaways are that the barber didn't wet down the hair before cutting with scissors (that's a first for me), he did not offer to show the back of my head with a mirror, no offer to trim eyebrows, no hot shave of back of neck with fresh razor, kept spinning my seat around over and over because he was too lazy to walk around, and no offer for gel or hairspray. These are pretty much industry standards for any decent barbershop. If barbershops that are at least $13 less than this place offer all of these services AND provide a better haircut, there is absolutely zero reason to ever come back here IMO. Very disappointed. Missed opportunity for this location that has residential townhouses within walking distance. So annoyed. Overall, thumbs way down. A generous 1 star. read more

I recently moved to the area. I was recommended to go here. Undoubtedly the worst experience ever. My barber was on his phone the entire time and the owner wouldn't help me pay him via Zelle. There are a better places to go! Who the hell wants to hear about their golf games! Just to your job! read more

For such an "upscale" barbershop, this place is not worth it. Overpriced haircut for a subpar barber. Not worth the price or the time. Explains why golfers wear hats! No need to see their hair so just "cut it however you want." read more

I came in last minute on a Wednesday to get my two-year-old sons hair cut. The man did a very good job keeping him calm and giving him a very nice haircut. My son has already had about eight or nine haircuts from different places, but this one is definitely the best. We will be back. read more

I went in to get a haircut today at Monti's. Unfortunately Sunday is a bad day to go there. All three barbers on this afternoon were all talking between themselves about how hung over they were, passing out under the stairs & could not even remember what they drank last night. I guess this why they were taking soo long to cut everyone's hair. One barber was bragging how this one haircut is taking him 45 minutes to finish. This is the last time I'm going there. If you like a place where the "barbers" are busy talking between themselves the whole time they cut your hair,then you should come here. I sat there for 20 minutes listening to their ignorant verbal diarrhea before I left & got a haircut somewhere else. read more

Not very pleased with the haircut that I received today. Yes, the young man was courteous but my standard for a $20 haircut is higher than what is delivered. The back of the neck should of been shaven, the top was cut very unevenly and left too long, the eyebrows never trimmed, no hot towel and not even a mirror so I can see the back. Lastly, getting spun in a chair so the barber doesn't have to move was very unpleasant. I know my standards are high but there are many shops that do all of it . I just moved to the area and liked the reviews I saw on Yelp. I guess next month I'll search some more read more

I have to say one of the other reveiws was on point. Monti him self is a nice guy and the place is clean but seems when he's not there his staff is very unprofessional. I cant imagine they act and speak the same when the owner is there but because of our recent experience we will not be going back. read more

Went to go get a trim last week before an important trip. The woman that cut my hair didn't even give me her name. Now I know why. I specifically asked over 3x not to cut off more than half a centimeter. She cut off six inches of my fucking hair. safe to say I'll never go back. Not the first time I've had issues with this store. Every time I go here (6 or 7 times) they put me with the "new guy". Last time, the new guy not only didnt cut my hair the way I wanted, but also messed it up and took and hour and a half to cut my hair. I was extremely frustrated as I had many other things I needed to do that day. When i showed my messed up hair to the other stylists who were literally outside playing football, they said ...oh you dont like it just go tell him. Not very good service. Also during the entire nearly two hours, the who team of barbers were arguing about who can beat who in some dumb video game. It go loud and obnoxious. The owner was there and laughing along. He should recognize that his team is very immature and unprofessional and not everyone enjoys this atmosphere. If you want to feel like you are in a high school gym locker room while you are getting your hair cut, this is the place for you. If you are a grown up and have other stuff to do today, move on. read more

I've been going here for nearly 3 years. Last night was my last visit. attempting to get a hair cut an hr and 45 mins before closing, I was told that I wouldn't be seen, What!?! Every time I inquire on how to make an appointment, (which I have witnessed barbers do) I am told that I must come in and sign the list, (which requires a minimum of an Hr+ wait). Sure you can leave and they try to call, Providing you can get back within 10 minutes, which I don't live close enough, so I wait. Be warned this system isn't foolproof and names get crossed off, as I have been victim even while waiting. I am always game to let someone new cut my hair (at least once) and always tip. I've been going there longer than some of the barbers have been working, I've gotten some great and not so great cuts from people who have come and gone. Now you after nearly 3 years of regular visits and being forced to be a regular walk-in... I'm done. read more

I watched the barbers doing hair on children , kid's & teens as well as Adults.... Just moved here wanted a good place to go. Recommended by a friend. What a mistake!!! I went on a walk in guy said his name was Jake. Rear left chair tattoos on his neck. Asked what I wanted and that's the last he spoke to me spent the whole time talking to the next barber Cecil how he wanted to get out of there and open his own shop. Awesome!! I am a 50 year old guy losing my hair. I don't require anything special so the sign says that a regular haircut is 20 and a special haircut is 25. Jake gives me an ok haircut between his complaints but fails to shave my neck which I guess you can't expect in a barbershop anymore? So when he's finished he says how's that bud? He's not my bud but I can't wait to get out of there so I say fine then he charges me 25 for a special haircut!!! Ha I got like very little hair and I'm ok with it but so ridiculous. I should have asked in advance if balding Guys cost extra. By the way whoever Nick is with the chair next to him he was talking shit about you. Where to begin. It starts from me waking up in the morning and calling to schedule an appointment, the guy who picks up says "we only do walk ins until Thursday." That sounds great to me, so I head on down. There's 4 barbers working and 2 people in front of me so I figure this will be pretty quick.I have a couple of episodes of frasier downloaded on my phone so no biggie. After about 45 mins, It's my turn and I'm ready. THEN some guy walks in, nods at a barber and jumps me In line. I mean ok, it happens maybe their friends I get it. THEN some guy and his kid walk in, shake hands with the barber (Eddie) and hop in the chair. I say "hey sorry, I'm pretty sure I'm next" to which he responds "oh we have an appointment." Now I'm like ok... fine but I'm next for sure, then when this guys kid is done he hops in the chair. Now I'm done, I think "guess I just have to make an appointment" and head out, I call them on the way home to make an appointment for tomorrow and they say "yeah we don't take appointments before Thursday. Oh you were just here right? You were next!" I say "ok cool! I just left I'll swing back" to which the guy says "well we can't help you we have appointments" At this point I take a couple minutes to try to regroup and comprehend what on earth is happening. I tell the guy on the phone what he just said and tried to share my confusion with him. After getting back and waiting again I finally got in a chair and I got a descent haircut, cash only so I went to the ATM And you guessed it, broken. So I drive about a mile to a 7/11 to get some cash and on the way I realized my haircut wasn't even or completely done? Sooo, i want to square up and have the guy finish my haircut and he's already got another person in the chair so I'm going to have to wait Yet again for him to finish. I finally catch a break and Eddie stops eating his pizza to help me out, he looks at my head and says "oh I see what he did" and then finally fixes me. Later that night, I just looked in the mirror and realized the guy only trimmed half my beard. read more

My first time here and a very good first impression. Shop was super clean and welcoming. Each barber took their time with attention to detail and listened to what the customer wanted. Albee is an awesome barber and for any of you guys with beards, he's definitely one to see to get it cleaned up nice. Sadly, mine had to get taken off today. I plan to come back here to see him for a haircut again! I'd definitely suggest making an appointment though because wait times for walk-in's will be a bit of a wait depending on your time of day. read more
