I'm fairly new to the wine and cheese tasting game, but me and my friend had such a great experience here! Let me start off with saying that the staff here was so friendly. My friend and I were a little bit indecisive when it came to our wine flight and actually asked if they could just pick some of their top sellers for us. Not only did they pick them out, but they also explained to us what was what and gave us a little backstory on our cheese board! I can't remember the name but the cheese in the small round bowl was supposedly a top seller and ohhh my gosh I see why. Perfectly creamy! If they ship I will be ordering it directly to my house. They had indoor as well as outdoor seating, and the inside is so picturesque with all the wine bottles on the wall. I attended a free tasting here and ended up staying for a while and buying a bottle. The service was great. I really enjoyed a rose that was part of the tasting but it was a bit too costly. Cornelius was super helpful and gave a more affordable recommendation. The place is a bit small inside but the patio is nice. Also, the chips that they sell are AMAZING. Came on a Wednesday for a Free wine tasting. 1st thing the parking here is free street parking or complimentary valet parking. 2nd thing the place has indoors and outdoor seating. They have a large selection of wine that can only be found here, and they have a great selection of cheese. They also have a nice selection of delicious desserts. The wine tasting was nice as we started inside then went outside for 2 tastings and then went back inside for the last 2 tastings. This place is located in the same building as Rosie's Cannonball, so after the wine tasting we went there for dinner. Great Wednesday night. We did purchase a lovely wine. When I saw this racklette event on 365 Things To Do Houston, I was so excited for a cute cheese and wine day. Thankfully, valet was complimentary upon arrival to the event. We saw a line of people waiting for their cheese, so we joined them. There was a bit of confusion as we saw people leaving the line. We soon realized that you can't get the racelette until you've been seated. Whilst waiting to be seated, we enjoyed some wine in their wine room. This room is cozy and homey, I just wish they had more seats available! I also ordered an apple tarte tartin which was delicious! The tart was thick and the filling was creamy with a hint of cinnamon. It was then topped with thin slices of tightly rolled up apples. LOVE Montrose Cheese and Wine. Came here for a cute date night and sat at the bar to order a few glasses of wine. The restaurant is pretty small which gives intimate feels. The walls are covered with bottles of wine and all the different rotating cheeses are on display when you first walk in. Everything we tasted was amazing! Great portions of cheese and meats. My partner and I can be pretty picky with which cheeses and all we're fabulous. Left with a slight stomach ache (should've restrained and taken some to go!) but so worth it and can't wait to return. I am a cheese lover. Was excited to try this place. Walked into good size crowd for sunday, busy hostesses serving wines. The place is kind of lux. Great for a date, or meet up with friends if you don't want to go out -out. My cashier was nice, and gave me some insights. I think I was expecting an unlimited cheese collection, but really this is more like intentionally curated select items only. Food-i got everything to go. I was curious about there daily sandwiches. Sundays sandwich was ham and whipped butter on French bread. It was ok $12, I wanted it to be delicious, but it was ok. Cheeses- I got the truffle gouda which was rich and good, but really truffle in cheese is pretty much a win no matter what, so it was a taste I was very familiar with. And the OG Belgium gouda, which was ok, I liked the texture and nuttiness so it was familiar, but it's not the typical "gouda" texture and taste so be warned, if thats what your looking for you may be disappointedin this one. My total for 1 sandwich plus 2 small cuts of cheese was $26. Not for the faint of heart I would come back to try different sandwiches. But would not likely come here as my go- to for my weekly cheese haul. Fyi- each piece is sold by weight per ounce, so keep that in mind when pricing out what you want. read more

What a wonderful experience I had at the wine tasting on Wednesday! As soon as I entered, I saw wine glasses ready for me to enjoy. They also had paper sheets with the names and details of each bottle we sampled. I couldn't resist buying some amazing cheese from their selection. Shannon was so helpful and friendly; she recommended some cheeses that suited my taste perfectly. And guess what? If you spend $75.00 on cheese, you get a voucher for same day use for a pizza at Rosies next door! How awesome is that? I couldn't use it that day because I had other plans, but I will definitely come back. The place was so cozy and charming, with lovely seating and decor. I stopped by here for an evening snack with a friend after a tough round of exams a few months ago. I had been craving a cheese board so we decided to order their three cheeses of the day, and my friend ordered the sandwich of the day. I can't quite remember which cheeses we ended up enjoying, but I do remember thoroughly enjoying all 3. The soft cheese was delicious and very spreadable on the delicious baguette slices they also provided. Our server gave us a fresh set of baguette slices when we ran our midway through our cheeses as well. I would consider coming back here for a small bite to eat, but I did find it rather expensive - the board was $18 and the cheese pieces were rather small. That being said, they have a wide variety of cheese offerings inside the shop that you can order to-go, and I would guess their wine selection is also great. I like the atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly. If you choose to sit outside on a cold evening like today, they let you borrow a soft blanket to stay warm. They have plenty of wine options to sip or purchase by the bottle. If you decide to purchase a bottle, they offer complimentary bottle chilling. You should come even if just to check out the chilling machine. We enjoyed our wine flight very much. The cheese and charcuterie board were great also. They gave us El Trigal Manchego, Hornkuhkase Swiss Alpine, and St. Stephen Brie. For the charcuterie, we had Prosciutto Di Parma, San Gennaro, and Schiaccata Piccante. PSA: very late post and only have my first impression of this place. My hubs and I were on the hunt for a bottle of red to gift to my brother in law for his 40th birthday and I remembered MC&W and decided to check it out for the first time. The 40th is a milestone birthday so we wanted to go "big" (within our budget) of course, so we walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the staff members! He was super patient, super kind, and extremely knowledgeable! I can't remember his name, but he was the greatest salesperson ever! I remember him providing several recommendations and not rushing us, but also giving us time to peruse their extensive wine selection. Since we were only "shopping" we didn't get to sit down and enjoy a glass with a charcuterie board or anything, but we picked up some dessert to go! The place is small and is next to Eloise. Tiny tiny bar area that maybe fits only 8-10 people comfortably?? I honestly don't recall but there isn't a lot of seating. They have a great selection of reds, whites, blends, international selections, and yummy bites that can be picked up to go!
