    grilled cheeses and waffle fries
    Joyce C.

This location is in the POST Houston, so it's very casual. Like eating in a food court where you pick up your food and find a place to sit. The grilled cheeses were good, but paying $6-7 for like 6 fries as a side is ridiculous. My friend was the one who ordered the food and didn't want to complain. I'd probably order one of the sandwiches again, but I would definitely avoid getting the fries. Service was fine.

The 4th installment of Twisted Grilled Cheese debuted a little more than 2 years ago at POST Market, bringing specialty casual fare into the city's most frequented food hall. Is this the grilled cheese that dreams were made of? Not in the slightest. Is it enough to scratch the grilled cheese itch? 100%. With their tagline as "comfort food with a twist" has become their mantra, they offer a myriad of signature sandwiches that include the 5 cheese classic -- a blend of several premium cheeses and even protein heavy sandwiches, like the Twisted Pig, stacked with ham, bacon, and pepperoni with a hefty side of indulgence. I don't know if it tastes remotely close to the original food truck location, but I think it's a solid start. Other gourmet offerings include their Halal Philly grilled cheesesteak, truffle mushroom, smokehouse brisket, and buffalo chicken. Their cheesecake donut holes are always a hit though the nutella sandwiches are also a big one, along with he funnel cake fries. While I've got a lot of respect for the creative process, I haven't had tried anything that has truly wow'd me. While the sandwiches were decent and pretty to look at, I haven't found one that stands out enough for me to order on a regular basis. While the cheese pulls are fun and the mac and cheese bites are comatose, they're average execution at best. Service hasn't been the most attentive either. They've really got a great concept, nice branding, and clearly enough buzz to warrant multiple locations around the city. Whether it's this spot at POST or another location, I'm hoping they find their footing soon.

The service was outstanding! I experimented with 5 cheese and the limeade too and it turned out to be a great decision!! First time visiting twisted grill at The Post, but same great taste from the Washington location ! Went at lunchtime during the week so it wasn't too crowded

Ok place. There's a lot of options. We got the BLT grilled cheese . It was very average. The guy at the counter wasn't friendly at all. He looked upset to be serving us. ‍ The sandwich was big and it came with fries which were good! Sandwich itself was fine but nothing that blew me away. It should've come with tomato soup instead. And the guy only gave us one napkin even thought there was clearly two of us.. meh. Probably wouldn't eat here again but the food itself wasn't bad, just wasnt wow'ed.

First time trying this place. The lady who took my order was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, I got the smoked house brisket sandwich with parmesan cheese fries and it was amazing !

The brisket grilled cheese is incredible. Had a lot of brisket and the cheese was stretchy. I'd try again.

This location is inside the Post HTX food court. I had them before at another location and it was really good. This time I tried the Texas Brisket and it was just okay for me.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant while staying at a hotel in Houston for medical treatments. We had it delivered to our hotel and sadly it wasn't the best experience. When we got our order to the room we were missing one side that we ordered. We got Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad with a brisket/smoked chicken combo and a brisket/ribs. I was shocked to see two pieces of brisket and a chicken breast for $28. Maybe it was an off night but the quality just wasn't there. All the food was cold (our fault bc we ordered it for delivery) and was lacking flavor. Overall, we'd rate it like this: Brisket 3/5 Chicken 2/5 Mac n cheese 1.5/5 Green beans 3/5 Ribs 3/5 Potato salad 2/5 Maybe they were having a bad night but I wish our experience was better.

We ended up leaving with the Salva Cremasco (my BF's pick) while I chose a random interesting-looking cheese called Screamer--because sometimes the mystery pick just calls to you. Half the fun here is getting to try cheeses you'd probably never think to bring home otherwise. The Salva Cremasco was surprisingly easy to love. Mild, buttery, and savory in a way that felt approachable rather than intimidating, with a smooth semi-firm texture that got creamier as you ate it. At first, it tasted very clean and milky with a light nuttiness, but the finish had this subtle earthy, almost mushroomy/vegetal note that kept things interesting without ever becoming funky or sharp. It felt like the kind of cheese you accidentally keep cutting "one more slice" of until suddenly... half of it is gone. We were also sold on trying the FLUFF Bake Bar cookies made with goat milk, which honestly felt very on-brand for the whole experience. Dangerous place for impulse purchases--but in the best possible way. What really keeps making this place memorable, though, is the people. I love the knowledgeable and warm welcome we always get from the staff. Even on a visit that barely lasted 15 minutes, they somehow still made the experience feel memorable--like you stopped by to chat with people who genuinely love what they do and want to share it with you.

A small, discreet shop with a backyard-like parking lot, it's unassuming on the outside but full of character on the inside. Upon entering, you're welcomed with samples of the five cheeses of the week, generally going from soft to firmer and stronger. Their cheeses are displayed in a small fridge, but you can always request varietals ahead of time if you've got something in mind. We bought blue cheese they had on sample (the "Ewe Calf to be Kidding" from Wisconsin, a triple-milk (sheep, cow, and goat)) and the last of their Capricorn Goat Blue cheeses for about $10/piece. Since they rotate out their cheeses weekly, it may become a regular stop on our weekend grocery trips (they mention that many people do that). They also mentioned that their wines rotate out and they have a good relationship with local distributors to understand what pairs well with their cheeses. They also let you start an account so that you can keep a history of all the cheese you buy. You better bet that I signed up. They're celebrating their 20 year anniversary in Houston. I wish I had come earlier to experience some of those years. It's got to be a cornerstone of Houston cheese and probably the among the best cheesemongers in Houston.
