Felt like going to Postino in Montrose tonight for our downtown date night! And let me tell you...it was fantastic! First of all, the staff were all so nice and very helpful! Secondly, it's the perfect place to have a nice little date, or just hang out with friends. Very relaxed atmosphere with really great music! Lastly, all the food and drinks we ordered was soooo delicious! There was so much flavor with each dish and they had a great menu selection. I highly recommend giving this place a try!! Absolutely loved it, and most definitely will be coming back!

Postinos is the definition of ambiance, with their dim lights and light snacks that pairs well with their wine. We got a plate of their charcuterie board, sandwiches, and soups. All food was yummy and our waiter was sweet.

Let me tell you about them bruschetta boards You get to choose 4 flavors out of ~10 options, and each are cut into nice bite sized pieces to share with a group. Also highly recommend Postino's Board and Bottle deal!

Solid choice in Montrose, and great patio. We went with our friends and their young kids, and were looking for somewhere that's family friendly, and has outdoor seating so we would be out of the way and not make too much noise inside an establishment. This place fit the bill perfectly. The many is very bready- bruschetta's, panini's, bread based appetizers. It's great for even the pickiest eaters, however if you're looking for things beyond sandwiches or salads this isn't the place for you. We ordered the table cheese board, a caprese panini, sandwiches from the kids menu, and some bruschetta. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the kids especially loved the cheese, fruits, and jams. Service was a bit slow and confusing, our servers kept changing out, and when we would try to flag someone down we'd be told oh we're not your server and we're changing /assigning them now, please wait. In that shuffle we were waiting quite some time, but everyone was friendly enough. I enjoy the location and if I'm ever wanting snacky food I can see myself coming back!

I love postinos! I am a regular at this place for Monday / Tuesday board and bottle for $25! It is absolutely fantastic of a deal, especially for a date night. If you go with someone, you can split it for around $15 including tip! I always pair with the costa red blend. But they also have others too on the menu. For anyone who likes a more sweet wine, they have a Riesling Perkect! I highly recommend the pesto salmon, spicy pepper jam, fig apple brie. Those ones are my absolute favorite! Have fun with it though! Service was very great too! They get you the board and bottle within 10 minutes.

Postino is a great, affordable spot for dinner with friends. I've visited a couple of times and have always had pleasant experiences. The appetizers are good and the bruschetta boards are creative, but the real stand out for me are the paninis! Most recently, I tried the prosciutto and brie panini with fig jam, balsamic, and arugula. It was so delicious I ate the whole thing even though I was exceedingly full. The restaurant itself has a nice patio, well-lit with glowing string lights. The inside dining area is moody and cozy, giving the impression of a dark library or romantic wine cellar. In combination, the stellar food and comfortable ambiance make Postino Montrose a good location for a date or casual hang out.

I've been to Postino many, many times but this was my first visit to Postino Montrose! Honey, we were starving and quite tipsy...get into it! We popped in for a late afternoon snack/lunch and got right to it. We were across the street at JR's and had an enough drinks for the day. Haha! Immediately greeted and seated and we took a few minutes to decide. I indulged in the Caprese Panini + Mixed Greens Salad and baybeee let me tell you, that shit is delicious! And nutritious! Lmao! I'm hilarious. The panini was fresh, and tasty! As was the salad. I enjoyed my food so much I wanted to return the next day. Did I? No. Will I be back? Absolutely! As always Postino has the vibes, it's dim, but not too dim with eclectic decor. Stop by and order what I ordered!

Really great deal on monday nights with their board and bruschetta deal! Choice of full bruschetta board of 4 flavors and bottle of wine. Was a big fan of everything we ordered: fig apple brie, french onion, spicy and sweet pepper jam, prosciutto fig. Also highly recommend the Perfekt wine if are into lighter white wines. Sweet undertones but not quite a dessert wine. Ambiance is really nice outdoors, nice date spot. Service was pretty quick and they check in often. Definitely coming back for board and bruschetta!

There were flies everywhere while we were trying to eat, and most of our experience was spent swatting them away. It made it extremely difficult to enjoy the food. These were INSIDE.

Postino's is thee spot for a Friday night dinner with the girls. I've been to their restaurant multiple times, which says something given all the options available in Houston. The menu has so many delicious options that range from a full meal to lighter bites. My personal favorite is the Proscuitto and Brie panini, the combination of sweet and salty always hits the spot. The drinks are also good (and on the stronger side for their size); I'm a fan! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend Postino for anyone who wants good food and nice vibes. 10/10!

I went to Postino with some friends, and I just had to get the board after seeing all the pictures! The restaurant had such a nice selection to choose from, and I got to choose up to four! I got their smoked salmon, the prosciutto di parma, fig & mascaprone; burrata, bacon, arugula & tomato; sweet n' spicy pepper jam & goat cheese. My most favorite was the burrata, bacon, arugula & tomato. My least favorite was the smoked salmon (just going through a little transition phase with the smoked salmon, I guess). I really appreciate the amount of topping they added on the bread. The attention to detail and them having cut the each bread into smaller sections, just making it much easier to eat. The service was excellent. Plenty of seating and parking. Sadly, we missed their happy hour. I would come here again. The ambiance is nice whether it's a date or just a nice hang out.

My son and I visited Postino in Montrose for a belated 18th birthday lunch. We were seated outside, and it was slightly chilly. The host mentioned we could ask our server to turn on the heater next to our table. When our server arrived, she said she'd be "one of" our servers, and we asked about the heater. She told us she would inform the manager, but unfortunately, the heater was never turned on. She was the only server who attended to us, and although the service was adequate, it wasn't particularly memorable. We ordered a bruschetta board with Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil, Warm Artichoke Spread, Mushroom & Mascarpone, and Sweet N' Spicy Pepper Jam & Goat Cheese. The bruschetta was fantastic, and the pepper jam with goat cheese was absolutely amazing. For our mains, we both had caprese paninis on ciabatta bread. The flavors were good, with fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, roma tomatoes, arugula, olive oil, and balsamic, but the bread was tough, and I even cut my mouth on it. The chips served on the side were bland and inedible. I had an espresso martini, which was tasty but not very strong, and my son enjoyed his lemonade. Parking was terrible--we drove around multiple times and finally ended up parking in a nearby neighborhood. That's just Montrose, though, and not something specific to the restaurant. .

Postino Montrose Follow-Up: Can't Stop, Won't Stop So here's the thing--after that first visit, the food at Postino Montrose has been living rent-free in my mind. Specifically, the West Coaster. When I say we were craving it... yeah, it got real. So, naturally, we hit up Uber Eats and ordered it so I could have it waiting for me after my shift. And let me tell you, even after being delivered, it hit just as hard. It's the kind of meal that stays elite no matter how or when you eat it. Postino, y'all are a problem--in the best way possible. We didn't dine in so no ambiance.

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new.

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.

I've had my fair share of Paulie's but never had the chance to come to Camerata...until now. I had been missing out for so long! We journeyed from white to red wines throughout the night. We started out with the Babylonstoren, a chenin blanc from South Africa. We then moved into pink (rose) with the Ana Beirut - a blend of cab sauv, syrah, and tempranillo grapes with a bit of skin contact to give the wine the pink color. Lastly we ordered the Guelbenzu - a red blend of tempranillo, cab sauv, syrah, and graciano. This full-bodied red was the absolute fan favorite of the table. Food options are on the light side: meat & cheese boards, bread, and small bites. We started out with the warm bread - while it's normally served with butter, there's an option to switch that out with olive oil & herbs which is what we did. We then went for the meat & cheese platter. We couldn't decide on which meats or cheeses, so we did the option of ordering all 8! This came with 4 delicious meats and 4 tasty cheeses (from Houston Dairymaids), also with crispy fava beans, olives, pickles, and bread. This was a good amount for our group of 4 to share. Elena was our server and she was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She vibed with us throughout the night and made sure that we were well-taken care of. I loved her energy along with her vast knowledge of wines. We got plenty of good recommendations from her during our time there. I'm super sad that Houston will be losing this gem permanently at the end of the year (and even more sad that I only discovered it in the last month of its existence). While I know that owner Paulie won't be moving this venture to a new spot, I do hope a descendant of Camerata manifests itself somewhere in Houston in the coming years.

It's part of the Paulie's Restaurant brands, but completely separate from the restaurant from what I could tell. Parking is a bit difficult, but after a bit of circling we were able to find a spot and make our way in what looked like the back entrance. It was very low key, and despite the sign, the door seemed almost hidden in that back little corner. The staff seemed to have a bit of a hipster vibe-- not unexpected given the Montrose area-- but were very friendly. They offered suggestions, but let us go with what we wanted to try. There's a food menu along with the drinks, but we were heading to the restaurant next door, so we passed on grabbing food. We ended up going with a couple of glasses of red and a couple of the specialty chocolates. My wife loved her salted caramel chocolate. I enjoyed my peppermint chocolate. For the glasses of wine, I've got better at home for bottles the same price as those glasses. My wife really enjoyed the vibe, but even if this place wasn't about to close down, I'm not sure I'd be coming back here often. It's just too hard to park.

This shop differentiates itself from others in that they sell natural wines - organic and no additives or preservatives. I did notice with these wines that you don't quite get the same buzz as with other wine; on the flip side, you don't wake up feeling groggy the next day. The vibe inside is super cute and intimate. It's a converted house, and you can choose your seating in the various "common areas" of the house or the patio. The lighting is dark and intimate and they even have a disco ball spinning to some good tunes! We met owner Steve who was super welcoming - he and the entire staff at Light Years is super knowledgeable on their wines and are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences (and something that doesn't break the bank!). We were recommended a white pinot noir (crazy right?) for our first bottle, which was something unique and fun to try. While they did not have a chilled bottle available, they chilled a bottle off the shelf for us, but this did take about 15 minutes before we were served the wine. For our next bottle, we got a pinot noir - it was light and crisp, something I am not as used to in reds being primarily a cab sauv drinker myself. Our group really liked it and we didn't have any trouble killing the bottle. I appreciate having Light Years as a local neighborhood wine shop and will definitely be back to meet up with friends after a long day over some wine.
