Allure Travel, Montrose, CTM they are all bad companies. From working with them and from being a client. BEWARE, they don't care about anybody else but themselves. During the pandemic, because of their lack of professionalism and care for their clients, they made people overpay for their tickets since they didn't have enough people to answer their calls, their call back time was over 72 hours and by the time people would receive a call back the prices had gone up (Easily people lost millions of dollars because they didn't care and put more people on their lines). I am telling you it is better if you invest a little more time and made research of other options you have if you don't want your clients complaining of such a bad travel service CTM, ALLURE TRAVEL AND MONTROSE will give them. We booked a 2 week trip to Italy for our 25th anniversary and had a fabulous experience with this company!!! We used Montrose to book a tour with Globus for the first 10 days and their price was the same as it was on the Globus site but Our agent Kathleen handled all of the details. There was a bit of confusion on a difference in the pricing but it was cleared up after some discussion. We also booked a room in Lake Como for the last 3 days and it was amazing! Probably one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed at and we travel quite a bit. I'm giving this 3/5 stars because I didn't get to book my cruise through this company. Had I booked it, I'd be rating them based on their full service, and considering I didn't 100% use them, it wouldn't be fair to rate higher. I frequently shop and eat in the Montrose area. While walking to my car, I passed Montrose Travel 3 or 4 times, or so I'd thought... By the time I got to the 4th building, I realized that they have 4 on the same block! As often as I'm in the small little town, I never really pay attention to it, I guess. I have a cruise booked for this summer that I booked online. I stopped by Montrose Travel to see if the company I booked through gave me a good deal and whether or not I was eligible for any perks. Immediately, I was greeted warmly by a bubbly receptionist who told me I was in the wrong building. After being escorted next door to their main building, I was introduced to Pat. Pat answered many of my "first time cruiser" questions even after I told her my cruise was already booked. She also looked into the cruise I'm doing and gave me ideas for excursions while I'm in Mexico. She was awesome in explaining what time I need to be at the pier, how much I can expect to pay for parking, etc. all without ever asking me for a dime. There's not much I can do for my upcoming cruise, but for any future needs, I'll make sure I deal with Pat. Montrose Travel /CUonVacation had their rep at our local LA Federal Credit Union in Glendale a few days ago getting members to sign up for a free vacation drawing. I should have listened to my gut and passed, but the lady Darlene Magno was very personable and friendly. I asked her if they sell people's information to third parties. I told her that I did not want to enter as I was leery about giving out my phone number and contact information and that I did not want to have all kinds of telemarketers call me. She assured me that Montrose Travel did not do that and that my information would be kept private and would not go beyond Montrose Travel Agency. So I gave my Google phone number, who no one else had except my fiance. I took Darlene Magno's card and thought that this may be a nice travel agency to book my surprise vacation gift to my fiance this summer. I wanted to take her to Germany for 2 weeks and then to Egypt for 2 weeks. Low and behold, exactly 2 days after, I start getting all kinds of calls about having been randomly chosen for some $2600 vacation package and all I need is a credit card - you know the cookie-cutter scams. No one else besides my fiance has this phone number, so I know these calls are directly linked to Montrose Travel and their CUonVacation marketing campaigns. I do not appreciate what has been done, and will definitely go elsewhere for our travel agency needs. Thank GOD I gave a google phone number, which has the wonderful block feature and can even be changed at no extra cost. However, I do feel sorry for the other LA Federal Credit Union members who may have these annoying, pesky telemarketers calling them on their direct cell phone lines. Not impressed at all. read more

I wish I could give -5 stars. I decided to get a gift voucher from them for one of my dearest co worker and regret to trust their "30 something years of experience". Feels like there's no team work and every person works independently or with no supervision whatsoever. I called in advance to make sure they are selling vouchers. And next day stoped by to purchase it. Waited 3 hours (literally) before team members could at least find out who's responsible for vouchers. And guess what else? Yup. When the client called with voucher and tried to redeem it, he faced same WEAK customer service and MESS. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anybody. In July of 2012 I wanted to take a trip but wasn't quite sure where. I contacted Montrose Travel and spoke with Norice. I gave her a few requirements. I wanted to go someplace on a beach where I can relax, have unlimited drinks, and a fabulous room. I also gave her my budget of $2300 and time span of 4 days. She suggested Puerta Vallarta and staying at a wonderful resort Dreams. She set up the flights, hotel, and airport transfers. She also gave tips on how to get out of the airport quickly without being harassed by the timeshare people. I have recommended them to other people who are traveling to foreign countries and need assistance of a professional. I booked flights using my credit card points, and my credit card company uses Montrose Travel. I ran into a problem with my flight mid-trip, in the middle of total chaos surrounding snowstorms in the Northeast (why does snow, in February, in the Northeast, throw United into chaos? that's a question for another day). In any event, I tried to get help from United , who for real threw the ticket in my face and yelled at me. I then tried to get help from Swiss Air, who told me to talk to United. United's customer service line either had a recording telling you to call back due to volume, or informed you that there was a 2 hour wait to speak to an agent. Around 3AM it occurred to me to call Montrose. The super-hero Carla took my call, listened to me wailing (which I was basically doing at that point from frustration and lack of sleep) put me on hold and straightened the mess out. She re-booked me, we were on our way the next day. I can't tell you how awesome this was, to speak to a calm professional who really took on the problem and fixed it. I posted something about Montrose Travel over the weekend and to my surprise I got a call from the owner of the company wanting to talk to me about the problems I had. Although they call started off ruff we ended our conversation on good terms. He has since looked into my concerns and addressed every one of them. There are not many company out there that do that and Montrose did. I appreciate the help the have offered and will use them again in the future. I would recommend that if you are planning a family vacation you might want to talk with someone at the agency before booking it I had a bad experience with Fiesta American in PV. I am so sorry I didn't look at these reviews,,,,so sorry. I called Montrose Travel because my family has been in this area since the late 60s. My first apt here was in Montrose. What an awful experience, I had my dates and locations for two European cities, and for one I gave this woman(I will be nice and not say her name), all she had to do was select or recommend one hotel. I felt like I was talking to an android, seriously. It would have been funny, I asked 3 times the same question, ignored an met with a question. I am trying to do this trip within the next two months or so. I had a bad feeling she wouldn't get back to me like she said she would, guess what happened? LOL...no email as promised. IDK what the commission but this was about a $5,000 trip...oh well. Zero customer service skills, and than she didn't do what she promised. My inner voice said call someone else and get the ball rolling. I don't know how old this woman is, because it isn't justthe young people who get blamed for being clueless, I mean the attitude like she was doing me a favor, this country is going to be in aTrump recession....first jobs to go are non-essentials...even those who can afford to travel cutback.....not my problem. I live in Montrose, and had never tried booking a trip with a travel agent before. My wife had always wanted to go to Hawaii, so I figured I would stop by and see what Montrose Travel had to offer. I was greeted by the receptionist and I told her I wanted to plan a Hawaii trip for me and my wife. She directed me to a travel agent named Pam. Pam was pretty awesome! She had a lot of advice on things like the best time of the year to visit Hawaii (for both cost & conditions), the best way to enjoy Hawaii as a first timer, specific activities and places to visit, etc. It was very informative... I kinda felt like she had just been there. I told her that and she laughed. Having never been to a travel agency before, I must say the benefit of a well-informed traveler can really help make a trip worthwhile... Pam in particular seemed to adapt her suggestions to better suit my personality as she got to know me. She helped me book the trip for this Spring, and created an itinerary for me to look forward to. I was surprised by the pricing... I expected it to be more since I was going through a travel agent, but I tried pricing out the trip online afterwards and wound up going OVER what I was quoted via Pam... I think some travel agencies get aggressive pricing for popular destinations like Hawaii. Anyway, positive experience here... This agency works out of a cluster of old houses in Honolulu avenue in Montrose. Their rug is so filthy ... probably hasn't been changed in at least 50 yrs . You have to go knocking on each door to find out what you need. While I was at an agent desk ... both their GDS and their internet connection was spotty,she kept on writing in little pieces of paper. The travel agent said this is a common occurence at this agency. After waiting for a while I left and would not go back nor would I recommed this place to place and family. read more

As most people planning their European vacation, we've aquired quite a few books relative to such a trip. In some of these books it is mentioned that, to avoid unnecessary fees and expenses, an option to go with is what they consistantly referenced to as a "cash passport". Made sense so we researched it, found the company and directly contacted them to inquire about it. They extensively explained their "program" and when asked if there was an alternate way of aquiring it, other than online, they stated our local travel agencies have them or can aquire them for us. Enter Montrose Travel.... We phoned the office and asked about this product/option. The initial agent that first answered the phone confused our question and directed us to apply for a passport at a post office she had just visited. We explained this was not an inquirery about travel passports but a specific product, a "cash passport". She then gave the phone to a second agent who gave no introduction, was dismissive right off the bat and to say her demeanor was piss poor would be an understatement. She had no interest in hearing about this tool for potential travelers that she may have and brushed my wife and me off as if we didn't deserve her time or energy. Absolutely unprofessional and outright rude and disrespectful. Not sure who she thought she was talking to but we weren't them and had no interest remaining on the phone with someone as condescending and dismissive as this female agent. Truely hope this agent doesn't continue to represent your office in this manner. Truely a disappointment! read more

I haven't had a chance to refer any family or friends, but I can say that Katie handled our very-first-ever and huge cruise last summer, and gave us more details and tips for a better experience than I had ever expected. This was to Alaska. Beyond finding us a great deal in fall '09, she kept US on track, and not vice versa. Sorry for others' experience, but that's not what we had. Great Job! Our Agent, Rhonda, did a wonderful job organizing a girlfriends trip to Ireland. We gave her a budget and told her a little about where we wanted to go and when. She took care of everything! We had a car and driver, Rhonda booked all our hotel with breakfasts included, and sent a suggested itinerary of what we might like to see and do while we were there for 10 days. We booked our cruise and flights over a month ago through Montrose Travel, leaving this coming week. We were told we'd be receiving a packet in the mail to tell us all about our trip, so far the other couple we booked with has received a "Hope you enjoyed your trip" card, but neither of us have gotten any details about the trip that we are about to embark on! I had emailed our agent a number of times in a week and a half without any response. I called and asked to speak to someone other than the agent that has been unresponsive only to be sent directly to her! Her response was that she hasn't received any emails from me. We booked our flights through Montrose and the only confirmation I got was an email from our agent with flight dates and times - nothing official. I can't check the flight through the airlines because I don't have a confirmation number. I don't ever post negative reviews, but our trip is this week, I still can't get a hold of our agent and I'm beginning to think this agency is scamming us!! We've paid a lot of money to be ignored and even if the trip goes smoothly we won't use Montrose for future trips! read more

I am giving four stars now because we have only had our initial meeting with them. I will leave an update when our trip is complete. We had a great initial meeting. She did make it very clear that you come to a travel agent to get expert advice and to ensure a fantastic vacation. Their is a possibility that the prices may be cheaper online but you would be missing the expertise that will make your vacation top tier. It is important to understand this before you start working with an agent. If you want to plan it all yourself online and possibly get cheaper prices then by all means do that. BUT I would not work with a travel agent, have them do all the work and then book everything separate online... It would be unfair to them. This is a decision a traveler has to make before they start the planning process. We have decided to work with an agent .. And I can tell you now that it will be so worth it! The girl we are working with has been to a lot of vacation destinations and has a lot of travel experience herself. After getting to know us a little she was able to determine the exact type of vacation and experience we are looking to have. The meeting made me very excited for our trip! First of all, due to a busy life, we started planning this trip WAY too late. I called Montrose Travel and was assigned to Rhonda Maroney. She truly pulled our trip together in a very short time and helped us in reservations and where to stay. The flight was uneventful except I would allow more time between flights for delays but we made our connection. Rhonda caught that our SPG agent had inadvertently placed us down for two not three occupants at one hotel and we were able to correct it before leaving. I did not catch it but she did. SPG also was amazing because there were several errors in our reservation and they covered all the upgrades due to the agents errors (they get a 5 star also!). Rhonda is a quality agent: she was patient with our busy schedule, working with the differences of what each of the travelers (primarily husband and wife) wanted to see and brought a total package that just worked. We wanted to stay two nights in Cinque Terre and she listened and found the right hotel (Porto Roca): rooms are minimalistic but the view and restaurant and service was awesome. We saw a lot in Italy and Rhonda made it seamless. We will be back to help plan our next trip. read more

Total incompetence! In case you don't have the time to read the whole review,I'll sum it up: HOW DOES A REPUTABLE TRAVEL AGENT BOOK A BACHELORETTE PARTY OF 13 GIRLS AT 2 DIFFERENT RESORTS??? And to make matters worse, nothing could be done to correct it. Also, there was nothing in the budget to give us even a token reparation as "the commission was so little...." But....Originally, we intended to book the whole trip through Montrose Travel (and in the interest of being kind, I will not disclose the agent's name). From the start, the process was not smooth, but a resort was decided on and booked. She was supposed to take care of flights and transfers as well, but it was not completely straight-forward as half the girls were arriving Thursday, and the other half were arriving Friday. I sent her a spread sheet of everyone's information, but there was too much confusion on her part, so we all booked our own flights. A while later, I contacted her about arranging transfers and an excursion, but got no response until over a week later, and no quotes until another 10 days after that! In the meantime, we needed it done, so I took care of it myself. I had gone to a travel agent, not because I could not do it myself, but because I don't mind paying for things if I feel that they can do it better than I can. I was taking responsibility for the plans of 13 people, so I wanted to make sure that it was done in the best way possible. Throughout our correspondence, some of the other girls would text me on the side questioning her competence and pointing out little errors such as flawed numbering in the traveler list, showing that there were 14 people traveling instead of 13. I reassured them, however, that it would be fine as this is what she was trained to do and she was part of what I had assumed was a solid, neighborhood travel agency that had been around for longer than I can remember. All she actually ended up doing for us was booking our rooms, and that ONE thing turned out to be a total disaster! I am so embarrassed and feel so stupid for trusting her. Seriously, who even thinks of the possibility that your PARTY will be booked at two separate resorts. The half of the girls arriving on Thursday were booked at one resort and the other half of the girls arriving Friday were booked at another. (Names of resorts, very similar....but, really?!?). I must admit... Initially, I was skeptical of using Montrose Travel, or any travel agency for that matter. All of my friends book their travel online. Hell, I always thought if I booked my vacations online, I'd get it cheaper. Turns out that's a myth. Montrose was able to beat the price on saw on the internet! I went in to this agency to book a trip to Hawaii. The woman I spoke to was clueless. Once she could get into her computer, she looked up prices online and gave me flight quotes that were much higher than I had seen on Expedia and Travelocity and she didn't have any knowledge of condos or hotels. When I told her the price I saw, she turned her screen around and said, "See!" I came home and found the lower prices in a minute. When I go to a travel agency, I am hoping to get tips and suggestions from somebody who knows what she's talking about. Here I got less than was available online. This travel agency is the worst ....customer service isn't in their vocabulary as they are always annoyed when they have to "talk" to you, which happens often because trips aren't booked correctly. For example if you request a flight, hotel and car expect your initial reservation to come back with one of those things missing ...then you call to see what's going on and get voicemail, send an email and a couple of hours later you get a new confirmation with the missing item. We are vacationing in Europe at the end of March and while reading one of our travel books they mentioned purchasing a "cash passport" to help cut down on banking fees when we withdraw money from ATM's. So, we look up "www,cashpassport.com" and of course there is a phone number on the website. We call the company and they tell us that we can purchase the "cash passport" with them on their website or that we could purchase a "cash passport" at a travel agency. Wells since we have never heard of a travel agency we immediately call Montrose Travel. The first person we talked to acted like she knew what we were talking about and instructed us that the post office carried them and that she was just at the post office and knew that they carried them. When we asked which post office she said in Azusa, we then said are you sure you're not talking about a passport. Then she said hole on let me ask and another female came on the telephone line and we proceeded to ask her about the "cash passport". Not only did she not know what we were talking about she was also dismissive and rude and was confident that the company was scamming us even though she was not clear on what the "cash passport" was. We attempted to explain to her that how could the company be scamming us if the company is instructing us to purchase the "cash passport" from a travel agent. Long story short we ended ending the phone call when we quickly realized that the agent had no idea what we were talking about and no interest in what we were saying. We called La Canada Travel agency and talked to Carol and she was very helpful, outstanding Carol was not dismissive, gave us great advice and genuinely cared. As for the "cash passport" it does exist however reading the consumer reviews we have decided to steer clear of it and just purchase Euro's before we depart on our trip and go inside banks while we are abroad. I recently booked a family vacation to Maui using Montrose Travel. As a group my family and I can be difficult to please. Our agent was Susie and she was very attentive. We changed our minds daily during the planning phase, and Susie met every challenge professionally. We finally agreed on a itinerary and booked our trip. Our accommodations were exactly as we asked for and upon arrival at our second stop our room was upgraded to "ocean front". I know Susie had something to do with this. As I mentioned above my group can be difficult. We decided to change one of our day trips and I phoned Susie to inquire how this should be handled. She told me to go enjoy myself and she would handle our changes. Everything turned out great and I must say it was one of our best family vacations. Having a professional travel agent with the experience Susie demonstrated made all the difference. We honestly received the amenities we asked for and I believe we paid nothing more for the service. Writing this review since I saw only the bad being reported. So I scheduled a flight through the CU Rewards program of which Montrose Travel is the exclusive travel agency responsible to handle this rewards program for many credit unions. It is a credit card rewards program issued by my credit union which is Hawaii State Federal Credit Union as well as numerous other credit unions. The travel agent was very professional and courteous when I scheduled my flight and was very prompt in processing my transaction. When a problem arose and I had to reschedule it was not an issue on their part and they handled it very quicly and easily. I would highly recommend Montrose Travel to everyone and I'm sure that the CU Rewards program partnership with Montrose Travel proves that they are a very reputable company with a high level of customer service, satisfaction and professionalism. read more

I can't recommend this agency. I needed to book some flights and hotels for a trip to India with two stops along the route, I called and spoke to one of Montrose Travel's agents. I explained what I needed in detail, she seemed to take notes and seemed to understand exactly what was needed, she even repeated it to me. I felt secure with this person handling my arrangements. However, I got a call back several hours later by someone who I had never spoken to who said she was referred to me by Montrose Travel and had my trip worked out... she went over the itinerary with the wrong dates which we corrected, then when I asked for the hotels they arranged for they had none. She told me that her notes said I did not need accommodations... complete opposite of what I said. We settled on some somewhat decent flights but at the end of the conversation she kept saying she needed to fax me the Information and I asked why when I could just come into the Montrose office and take care of it in person. She said that she had been told that we were in Peru and was traveling from there! Omfg! Never the hell mind! No I won't be doing business here I went ahead and planned my own trip. read more

Every time I walk by their office in Montrose I feel a pit in my stomach, my experience with them (years ago) was so off-putting. I purchased a ticket on one of their websites, I think it was called Air4less or something like that. After providing my credit card info etc, it gave me no confirmation number or anything else. I called the office (sounded like a sweat shop) and told them what happened. The girl told me that there was no record of my purchase and that I should try again. I called the airline to see if they had a reservation in my name and the answer was no. So, I tried again and this time the purchase went through. Long story short (you guessed it), two days later I got an email confirmation that the FIRST purchase finally went through. I called them immediately and explained the whole situation and that THEIR employee had checked and told me that my first purchase had not gone through. Montrose said there was nothing they could do and I had to pay the $200 fee to cancel the first ticket. Any agency worth half their weight could have cleared this up with the airline on my behalf but not these jokers, they couldn't have cared less. And at the time, $200 made quite a dent in my savings.
