Pretty spacious bowling alley with a ton of lanes, there's a bar and some snacks for sale. Apparently they sell breakfast here for those looking to arrive early to bowl. The bar is nice with about 10-15 seats at the bar, decent amount of beer options too which is cool. Cash only spot so keep that in mind $6 per person per game and $6 for shoe rentals. So $12 a game per person is pretty good. Overall a solid place to bowl, passed by a million times and never went in. So refreshing to find an old school, cash only bowling alley. My husband and I are so tired of paying $100 for 3 games/1.5 hours in this area. The prices per game was refreshing. Young kids working the desk and grill, but they were friendly enough and the service was alright. For 5:30ish PM on a fiday, there were bunch of kids that have zero bowling editquet, but they were respectful enough. Bar is stocked well and the bartender is super friendly! We didn't try the food, but we'll be back soon to hang out longer. Overall I think the lanes were a little too oily, but once you adjusted they were okay. We'll definitely be back again because you can't beat a place that's reasonably priced per game! Bowlero & T-bowl should take notice. read more

On Friday 3/22/2024 we went bowling to Montvale Bowling Alley as we did for the last 20 years. From the start, the blond arrogant guy (he refused to give his name as he was constantly rude to us) was assisting us. We had bowling shoes with us and it took about three times to repeat to him that we do not need to rent shoes. Then when we were checking out, he asked us 3 times again about the rented shoes. Still he tried to charge us for one pair rental. We had to say again and again that no shoes were rented, when he just became rude and told us to "relax". Really?? That is you customer service attitude?? Then we asked his name and he wouldn't tell us trying to hide behind the desk so we couldn't take his picture. Well he knew that he was rude to us and his attitude was awful. Here we are - instead of relaxed Friday eve, we left shaking and frustrated. Shameful and sad representation of the bowling place by a bully and rude guy who thinks he is in charge of people not in service to them. Terrible experience!!! This place is expensive for such a dated establishment. I guess the atmosphere is part of the experience. The CASH ONLY aspect is pretty inconvenient for reputable American business in the year 2021. The shoes we rented were in poor condition, the laces were broken and soles falling off. Be aware that there is no children's assistance ramp (see attached photo). But they do have bumpers. Furthermore the claw machine costs $2 and says "Game not over until you win a prize" but only allows you 1 attempt before it keeps your money. My child loves moving the claw an inch then hitting the button. They can find the time to put a crappy handwritten no refunds sign behind the glass but not remove the sign that's clearly wrong. read more

As a highschool bowler I mainly bowl at bowler city which is far superior than this abysmal alley. It's not horrible but it's not good. Barely ANY oil on the lanes . It's actually horrible how there is no oil whatsoever. read more

It's a great old fashioned bowling alley with plenty of seating. The lanes aren't stacked against each other and there is plenty of room to move. The snack bar is pretty decent with alot of different options and same with the bar. The bar has different deals on bottled beers and seltzer. I will admit that after 3 games and rentals, it was a tad on the pricey side. My friends and I still had a good time regardless and will be coming back. Oh, and make sure you bring cash. My Brendas birthday is Monday and she wanted to go bowling so we went here on a sunday bc Monday would have been a little hectic. anyways we brought our own shoes, got a lane right away and had a blast. this isnt our first time. anyhoo, the atmosphere was fun and friendly. the little fast food counter looked and smelled great but my party wasnt hungry. if i had to complain about anything it is that the mens bathroom was out of paper towels. However the lanes worked fine for us and when one pin got into the gutter I was able to get an attendant to fix right away. We really enjoyed our day. We had a good time bowling here until the woman at the concession stand screamed and yelled at my daughter for her simply asking to skip the plastic cup and fill her reusable cup instead. My 13 year old came back to our lane crying (not a normal occurrence for us!) after this woman unnecessarily berated her for a simple request. My daughter said that this woman continued to yell after her as she walked away and tried to get away from her. This woman should not be working around children! She should be ashamed of herself and find some place else to work, preferably not interacting with customers and especially young people. read more

Definitely has an old establishment feeling to it. If you like that great for you and if you don't, maybe go somewhere else. They've got everything you need to bowl and offer bumpers if you want. The shoes are definitely warm down so if you have your own pair just bring your own. Price is fair and food is actually not bad but this is a CASH ONLY establishment. They have an atm if needed. Absolutely terrible place. The only reason for the second star is the seating, as there are six seats per lane. Unfortunately, the experience you will have does NOT match the price, as it is too expensive to bowl on refurbished pins, terrible oil, and fast pinsetters that constantly place pins off spot! Not worth $5 to $6 per game. On my pair today, there were two pins that stood back up, and these caused hiccups in the scoring system. This place has a vintage feel but the bad pins and fast pinsetters reduce the vintage feel. If you want a good place to bowl, go to Bowler City as their lanes are much more professional. UPDATE: The pinsetters are also short on pins, which completely defeats the purpose of fast pinsetters. Pin carry is largely affected by the refurbishing, so the second star had to be removed. Even though they are far, Bowler City and Lodi Lanes are options instead of this place. Extra seating is only good for tournaments and birthday parties, which means they aren't really useful as I will only come to three more tournaments here. read more

Meh...really overpriced for a run down bowling alley. It hasn't changed in 40 years...which is fine, but should really be reflected in the prices they charge. For $8pp. For 1 measley game and shoes, you could go to Kings...and enjoy a more modern facility, with all the videos, disco lights and billards...pool, shuffle board air hockey. Its a dive but charges high end prices and cash only??? Come on people. Also literally half of the lanes were out of service for no good reason. Visited this past weekend 10/28/17. They are cash or check only. (The only reason for 4 stars, who carries cash nowadays?!?) My boyfriend and I we're having trouble with the ATM and couldn't withdraw cash. The people there were friendly and told us we could stop by again to drop off the money or mail in a check. She took down my driver's license and cell phone number since I told her I'd come back. The place is clean and the lanes are pretty decent. I love coming here to bowl! It's reasonable prices and it's lots of fun to bowl there with your friends and family! They also have a nice little arcade and a jukebox! The bar is also good as well! My experience here was horrible. The lanes began to have issues and when I asked the attendant for help he was rude and nasty to me. We hit there and the kid behind the counter told us all 6 of us -3 adults,3 kids-had to bowl on one lane. There was only one other lane being taken....and that was by the kids behind the counter.
