The dog I picked up was not the dog I dropped off. He now has manners and we know how to communicate w him on what we expect. We have a typical Husky puppy...he was pulling on a leash, counter surfing, jumping on people and other dogs, lack of recall etc. In addition, after trying another trainer prior to Fusion, we began to have problems with the crate and he would no longer stay in without having major anxiety...to the point of us not leaving him alone, ever. Cristina spent so much time with me, exchanging emails and talking about our situation. We dropped off our crazy pup and picked up a new improved version of him! His personality shines through all of the skills he learned. I can basically walk my Husky holding the leash with my finger 99% of the time. No pulling, he can pass by other dogs without breaking heel, and he no longer jumps on people when greeting. He will calmly wait in his crate to be freed. What he has learned and what we have learned, has made our family life with our boy so much more enjoyable. He is able to enjoy time off-leash and we can't wait to snowshoe with him this winter so he can enjoy his element even more. The process was awesome. Cristina kept us updated on his progress with pictures and video and the continued support after bringing him home has been wonderful and incredibly helpful. I highly recommend Fusion. In the future, we would not waste our money or time by going with any other dog training. Fusion is where it's at!

AVOID - SKETCHY: I contacted JoAnna to watch my dogs a month before my trip. We set up a meet and…read moregreet, and when I texted her my address, she texted she would be late. I didn't hear from her again until 2 hours after our scheduled time. She texted that her "phone was acting weird" and she needed to reschedule. We set another meet and greet for 2 days later, and she texted that she would again be late with her "best girl" Melissa. They met the dogs, and my dogs seemed a bit uneasy, but I just chalked it up to a first meet. JoAnna said she thought my "babies are the sweetest" and that she'd send me a schedule for watching the dogs the very next day, since I was waiting on her to book my flight. She did not send it. Two days later, she once again said she'd send a schedule for watching the dogs but she did not. Four days after she initially said she'd send a schedule, I texted her because I was waiting to book the flight, and she texted that a different girl would be watching my dogs, so we needed to set up another meet and greet in a week. She did not set up the meet and greet. I texted her again, now 3 weeks after our initial contact, and requested the meet and greet. We set a day and time. She did not show up and did not text me until after I texted her saying her "alarm did not go off" even though it was 4:00 in the afternoon. I was now not sleeping well because I was worried about my dogs. When I explained to her that I was now deeply concerned about the situation because she was late, unresponsive, changed sitters on me, and missed appointments; she said that she "could only do so much when it came to other people's decisions" regarding the sitter she had assigned to me. She then said she understood if I "don't have faith" in them and felt "unsure due to cancellations" and would send me other local pet sitters. I told her I didn't have time to find other sitters, since it was less than a week before my son's graduation from college, and my trip was now at risk, and that she had promised to take good care of the dogs. She became unresponsive, leaving me scrambling to figure out what to do less than a week before my trip and weeks after I tried to initially work with her.

I initially brought her for socialization and also knowing that I was going to have a lot of travel this year I'd need to board her for. I don't like the idea of 'normal' daycares/boarding facilities where the dogs are left in a kennel by themselves most the day or where they are alone overnight with no staff. Having this in someone's home and not alone in a kennel was perfect. She gets to play, relax (though not sure if she ever calms down) and overall just know she's safe and having a good time. I am extremely grateful to the entire Mutt Master team for working with Apollo (Belgian Malinois,…read morenow 2.5 yrs old) and I over this past year to find our balance together. From the moment we met Bob and Frankii, they were patient, compassionate and extremely candid about our situation. They worked with Apollo to overcome his anxiety and core behavior issues, tailoring to his personality. They quickly taught me how to adjust my handling of Apollo and be a better 'pack leader'. From the first moments of our eval and interview, Bob understood our dilemma and quickly scheduled training for both of us. Frankii, Steve, Nate and Bob took a personal approach with us to ensure our success in rebuilding our pack. They were straight-forward: if you do not do the work at home, things won't get better. There was no sugar-coating the situation: we had an attitude and personality clash. Apollo's anxiety and aggression towards me during times of high stress were symptomatic of my own distress and anxiety. While Apollo boarded and trained with Bob and team, I was provided homework of my own to read and work on as a handler. Using techniques from Bob and William Koehler's training book (at Bob's pointed suggestion), I improved my efforts and adjusted my training techniques and saw a vast improvement in Apollo's attitude and behavior. The techniques were clearcut and based on experience training thousands of dogs. Training takes consistency and discipline, for both the handler and the dog. After a particularly stressful day, Apollo and I clashed as we left the house. Our routine had been disrupted because I worked late, Apollo had been crated longer than usual, and we were going out one last time before bed. Apollo made it clear that he wanted to control the situation and pull me outside since we had not exercised much earlier. When I corrected him with the leash, he snapped back at me. This began an intense interaction that resulted in me lifting him off his feet with his leash and choke-collar. It took some time for Apollo to realize he was not in control of the situation. This reset did just as Bob and the book told me; he was not hurt physically; he was helped mentally. We've had no episodes of that severity since. Consistency with our training and establishing a daily routine was, and still is, key to Apollo's and my overall attitude and behavior. I will be forever grateful to Mutt Masters for the transformation we have gone through. Tony A.
