I did a dog training class with Zoie this month and Mocha loved it! I did too!…read more Mocha isn't the sharpest tool in the shed (I still love her though) but Zoie was super patient and Mocha was still able to keep up with the other dogs for the most part. It was a great way to spend time with Mocha and she's MUCH better at following the basic commands now (especially when we're on the Starbucks patio). Thanks Zoie!

I had a wonderful experience with leaving my Bernese Mountain Dog, Arlo, at the Double J Pet Ranch…read more I had a terrible experience a few years ago when I had to go out of town and left Arlo at a kennel in TEXAS. I came back to a malnourished, dirty, and very reactive dog. I believe that experience and whatever they did to my dog there caused him to be distrustful of other people besides me, my children and husband. I felt like a horrible owner when I saw how nervous and anxious, he had become when I brought him home from the kennel in Texas. He became protective of my family and needs introduction to new people in a new environment. I was able to call ahead and schedule a time to do a walk-through of the pet ranch. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the kennels and large area of land outside that is available to the dogs. The kennels inside the building were decently sized with enough comfortable space for my 100 lb dog. I think it was Jason who gave me the tour and answered all my questions. I asked about how they would engage with a reactive dog and he was so understanding, reassuring, and informed me of their experience with large and aggressive dogs. He could see that I was obviously concerned about the well-being of my dog and I made him aware of the prior kennel experience. He kindly explained their protocols, handler to pet ratios, and that they would be able provide the care that my dog needed while we were away. I brought Arlo and thought he was going to bark at Jason and the other two guys who were there that day to help. I was amazed when Jason gave Arlo no chance to get nervous. He expertly took the leash and lead him inside with no issue. This was the moment I knew Arlo would be okay. Of course I still worried like always, so I called a few days later to check on him. They missed my call, but called back within the hour and left a detailed message regarding Arlo and stated he was doing good and getting along with everyone; both two-legged and four-legged animals. I picked a happy and wiggly dog! His doubl- coat was just the way it was when I left him there; no matting, no dirt or mud, paws were clean. I am grateful and happy that the Double J Pet Ranch was able to accommodate Arlo while we were out of town. They know how to provide care for dogs of all sizes and shape, treat pet owners with honesty and friendly customer service, they understand that our pets are our family and treat them with kindness and compassion. I will be sharing their information with our neighbors, friends and recommend them to anyone who needs care for their dog(s).

But he had a happy, spoiled life full of love..& after finding "Mushu" (now Smoosh) on the NDMR website, we went through the application process & traveled from out of state to meet/bring him home. At 3yrs old & didn't know much (about anything.) Like a newborn puppy, he had to learn about doorways, windows, stairs, toys...everything! He's the sweetest, kindest, cutest most precious lil prince. From frozen scared, to curious and constant learning..we are so blessed to have found NMDR who gave us our GOOD BOY Smoosh.

We are approved, but by the time we get an appointment, all the pups that would fit our lifestyle are gone. We have tried repeatedly to set up appointments, but nothing ever works out. We are frustrated to say the least. We understand the need for some of the strict rules, but some of them are just petty. It's not easy for older folks to drop everything to drive to Peyton. At this point, we are very discouraged. Some things just aren't meant to be. The dogs are lucky to have you, but we could also give one of these precious souls a wonderful home.

We finally buckled down and called to set up a consultation. To be honest- before going in, we were skeptical thinking they would try to sell us a bunch of things, unnecessary or not applicable classes in order just to make money...but it was nothing like this! Tim was A-MAZING! Cannot say enough great things about this trainer! He is a straight shooter and tells it like it is, and I like that. We are coming there to get our dog under control not have a tea party....so this is wonderful that he is knowledgeable and sees exactly what needs to be done. He told us the types of collars and leashes to buy for our pups, and what type of classes we would benefit most from! I even admitted in the consultation that "I need some training" and Tim agreed that most owners do. I liked this! So, we have our first class this upcoming Friday, ordered the leashes and collars through Chewy, and we are good to go! Excited, hopeful, and SOOOO grateful for this facility and Tim!

I can't stress enough what a game changer my dog's time with Sarah was. I brought her home as a 12…read moreweek old puppy 2 weeks before the COVID shutdown with the intentions of training her as a service dog. Unfortunately due to a series of events outside my control I wasn't able to socialize her enough and she developed a lot of reactivity and anxiety. After 2 weeks with Sarah at 13 months I feel like I have a brand new dog. Not only is she more confident and relaxed at home but public access has become fun again, for BOTH of us. Sarah's balanced training was the perfect fit for our household and I get compliments every time I take Maisy out on how well-mannered she is. Now I can focus on her more specific service dog training instead of spending so much energy on just getting her to chill out. Sarah isn't just great with dogs - she made my boyfriend and I feel so at home and comfortable when training with her. I have more training experience than my boyfriend and both of us felt like we gained so many new tools and so much confidence during our go home lessons with her. However, the difference in how he was before and after training is astounding. He would run off all the time, pull on the leash, listen randomly and respond to the commands even more randomly. Now though, he can go off leash or heel by my side, listens the first (okay sometimes the second) time and responds almost immediately. The stability and the work she put in to him has transformed him into an even better version of an already amazing dog.
