I've never been clubbing in PI at all but I've gone in a lot of places in Vegas as I live there right now so my expectations were really high for this club. And I can say that they are up there with Vegas clubs! They even have DJs perform at their club who performs in the US-- marshmello, nghtmre (posters I saw when I went). There were 20+ people in our party so my friend recommended just getting a table for us. It was definitely a lot cheaper than getting a table at a club in Vegas but a little pricey in pesos. We got an amazing VIP booth section on the second floor. I don't remember how much we paid but I think it was between 20K-25K pesos with drinks and food included! I think it was a steal comparing to clubs in Vegas! We ended up getting so many bottles of alcohol, beer and lots of appetizers to share. I was just sad because they didn't have Jameson which is my favorite alcohol. So we just got mainly Hennessy and Jager! The service was great! The staff were very attentive to our needs, always making sure to check if we need anything else. And towards the end, they were even super patient with my friends and I since most of my friends were passed out on the couch. They waited and even offered wheelchairs to people who can't walk! Lol. Also, the party is literally all night long, the club don't close until 5/6AM. Another tip! There is a Denny's steps away from this club... so right after partying, you can grab breakfast and sober up next door!

They have a late-night restaurant that will meet your expectations and then some. I wouldn't recommend filling up though as the place was very active and you're definitely going to want to move your butt to the main stage, drawn in by the hyper crowd. Of course, clubbing experience depends a lot on who's got your back so it was important that I was with my friends there, making sure we're all having a great time partying through the night. They clearly went all out to bring the place up to discerning standards, cause the interior is absolutely above and beyond what one expects of clubs. It is, dare I say, the best looking one out there. It features some great modern EDM music, and of course they made sure to bring in the DJs that know what's up. High class in all places. Unlike a lot of other snooty places where everyone just "makes pacute" or looks to be seen, Hyve is actually different. Have you ever wanted to just let loose and dance on top of a surface that you shouldn't be dancing on? Yeah, that's what these chairs are for. The last time I partied at Hyve, it was the kind of experience where I didn't exactly need to be crazy drunk just so that I could feel comfortable enough to let loose and dance my butt off. I walked in and was greeted by smiling, happy faces. Walking over to my friends' table and I was greeted by a Belvedere bottle almost as tall as me being served out by our very own server. The rest of the night was pretty much the same as it began - super fun, super crazy, and with accompanied by excellent service.

I've only been to the Palace Pool Club twice, both during special events with international DJs. The first was their two year anniversary with Yellow Claw in April 2017 and the second was Flume's first show in Manila just recently in December 2017. The two year anniversary show with Yellow Claw seemed to have went on without a hitch. I arrived past midnight with my friend and getting in was a breeze. There was no crowd outside; everyone was inside and the dance floor was easy to navigate. HOWEVER, just recently with this Flume event, it was an absolute disorganized MESS. Apparently, the Palace Pool Club was hosting a private company event earlier that evening prior to Flume. Mind you, doors usually open at 9 p.m. but due to the private event, we were informed doors wouldn't be opened until 11:30 p.m., as the private event would end at 11 p.m. This was only advertised on their Facebook page and an obscure Instagram post. Otherwise, a vast majority was completely left in the dark. It was already 11:30 p.m. and there were at least a hundred people gathered around the designated tents. The bouncers had NO IDEA how to organize the lines and they constantly contradicted each other. One bouncer forced our already created line to move to a new tent and then another bouncer forced the line to move back. I, along with everyone else, was pissed because we were the first ones in that already formed line. I noticed here in the Philippines, locals choose to avoid conflict and would rather suffer in silence by choosing to stay silent. However, I am NOT one of those people. I told the bouncer it was not fair to allow this new line to cut ahead of the line that was already fully formed. The fully formed line was moved to one area and then back again because of another bouncer's irresponsible negligence and lack of information and organization. His response? "Well, this line ahead of you doesn't have too many people." There were at least 25 people in that line. I strongly responded, "It doesn't matter. We were here first and we moved because we were told to move by a bouncer who was clearly misinformed and knew nothing. This is all extremely disorganized." I could tell the bouncer was nervous I would either get him in trouble or incite a riot amongst the angry crowd so he created a separate line for us. Even being in the front of the line, there was more waiting. Already annoyed, I did not appreciate being left in the dark, literally. It was not until around 12:15 a.m. when I was able to temporarily restrain my irritation over the highly disorganized event and I kindly asked the woman in charge of validating passes, when we would be able to proceed into the venue. She responded positively and made a phone call. Five minutes later, passes were then being validated... only to be slowed down by iPad scanners that were malfunctioning... AGAIN, JUST AN ABSOLUTE DISORGANIZED MESS. I'm glad I opened my big mouth because we all would have been left completely in the dark, just aimlessly waiting. At least things got done after I spoke up. Whoever is running The Palace Pool Club, you literally need to get your team and all that shit together. You all NEED to COMMUNICATE. Not just amongst yourselves but with the people who paid their hard earned money to see a show at your venue. Don't leave us hanging in the dark because you all WILL get cursed out. The Palace Pool Club, I hope this serves as a lesson to be better prepared for future events because this one was a disaster. Flume was the saving grace of it all. ***ALSO, who the hell approved a private company event literally mere hours before a major show by an international DJ that has been heavily advertised on social media since the SUMMER?! I do NOT see ANY logic in making such a decision. You all obviously thought you could get the venue cleared out in time and maintain order but you were all dead wrong. I think it was mere luck the event proceeded as scheduled by getting everyone inside within the hour. Marc Naval, the Palace's resident DJ, deserved a slightly longer opening set and Flume deserved to be treated with greater significance and respect with an artist of his stature by reserving that night to be solely HIS.***

And "dancer" is used very loosely for a lot of them. The beefcake is ok to look at. But with all the muscles, it's really awkward to just watch them move to the beat. It hurts to watch. And when they take off their shirts, all you hear are the screams of little girls in the audience like it's a Chippendales club for straight women If you want to go for just a few drinks, don't expect to be able to stand anywhere to watch the entertainment or cruise for your fling that night. The tables are reserved for bottle service, which you have to book in advance. There is a cover charge equivalent to US $20 - this includes 2 drinks. Ok great. But the question has always been, where do you stand if you're just a visitor and you don't know about the table reservations?? Any little bit of extra space they might have is dedicated to the myriad servers they employ. It's not like you can stand casually at a bar the way you can at other bars/clubs So it's really for cliques of friends to occupy the tables that surround the stage, and definitely not a place to go to meet anyone new. That is fine if that's what you want Without a table reservation, you really feel like an outsider, and they say you can stand and drink your drink at a table, but you need to leave as soon as the people who reserved the table arrive It's basically dinner theater Don't get me wrong - the drag queens are good. If they weren't, they wouldn't have a RuPaul's Drag Race Philippines franchise Personally, I won't go back This place doesn't provide a good enough balance of worthwhile performances with talking to cute Filipino boys or travelers like us It's just sad that it's only one of maybe two gay establishments total in Manila

Manila is home to a super colorful LGBTQ+ community ranging from flamboyant outfits, conservative folks, and all in between. We were ready for performances and entertainment to blow us away. O'Bar in Ortigas Center has been around for several years now, it's been one of the more popular shows around. I've seen YouTube videos of Drag Race Philippines but haven't followed religiously like RuPaul's Drag Race, but when I see these ladies perform on stage, I know I'll recognize them. We planned on coming on a Sunday with a group of 5 of us, what we all agreed was purchase a bottle of alcohol and get a lounge VIP table. The club requires each person a cover fee which included 3 drink tickets. But with the price of a bottle, table rates are fully consumable which we planned on being out for a while. What surprised us the most was not only there was one round of production, after the GoGo dancers were complete with their number, another drag show came out in a whole new repertoire!
