She was very careful with the nail drill and when I expressed that it felt hot at one point, she was more cautious afterwards. Cuticle removal was also meticulous and not once was I cut. The gel polish was applied evenly and there were no bubbles or unevenness which I appreciate--being picky with my nails. The salon itself was very clean and spacious, with many spa chairs for pedicures and manicure tables. I paid a total of $51 ($40 for gel mani, $10 soak off--with service, and $6 tip but 10% off when you pay cash) which is quite reasonable compared to other places anywhere in the bay. I will definitely be rebooking with Sophia and recommend her to anyone just looking for a great gel mani.

I'm not sure what justifies this high price, but I will not be coming back. *edit after business response : high sanitation practices should be standard and not considered a luxury. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The nail technician was very pushy about what she thought would look best on me instead of listening to what I requested. I normally get a short-to-medium coffin shape because of my job, but she repeatedly insisted that a coffin shape couldn't be done at that length. I've had that shape and length many times before, so this was confusing. I also asked for an ombré design, but the final result looked completely different from what I requested. In hindsight, I should have spoken up, but I was on my way to a wedding and didn't have time to have them redone. The most concerning part was that I developed an infection on my right middle finger afterward. That was extremely disappointing and raises concerns about sanitation practices. I usually get a gel manicure and pedicure with them and they always meet the mark! The vibes are very calm as well, good r&b or pop music is often playing, and I realize I'm not really hit with those toxic nail polish fumes when I'm in there as they usually keep the A/C running or have a good airflow in their place. Overall, I come here when I know I need my nails done by people who care. Also, I love that Sophie is easy to reach when it comes to making an appointment. She is so responsive & sweet! I really enjoy coming here and catching up with the women that run this space.
