She tipped her masseuse, Nancy, $10 -- which she felt was appropriate based on the service she received. Instead of accepting it, Nancy became visibly upset and began demanding more money, creating a very uncomfortable and unprofessional scene. My family member tried to calmly explain her reasoning, but Nancy continued to insist, and the situation escalated to the point where additional money was given just to diffuse the confrontation. Tipping should always be based on the quality of service and given voluntarily. It should never be demanded or coerced. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the business as a whole. I'm sharing this not to attack, but to highlight an experience that needs attention. No customer should feel pressured or uncomfortable when leaving a business.

Under California law, Civil Code Section 1749.5, it is illegal not to honor gift certificates, and illegal to sell gift certificates with an expiration date. This was incredibly poor business practice, and it saddened me that these people are that ignorant of the law or corrupt. On the day of the appointment, March 1st, I was traveling from out of town to come here. I called to let them know that I would be up to 15 minutes late due to traffic en route. I arrived at 6:15 PM on the dot, and they started to call me again. I told them I was literally outside. At check-in, I showed a Groupon deal from my phone. It seemed like they had a difficult time authorizing the voucher; however, they were eventually able to honor it. Pertaining to the massage experience, it was executed nicely. I truly enjoyed the methods and techniques that were applied during the session. The other letdown was that the staff member rushed me a bit, constantly knocking on the door and asking if I was ready to go. Even though I enjoyed the massage itself, the overall nuisance and rushed atmosphere from the staff left the experience somewhat lacking.
