    Beach area to lake
    Laura W.

Pretty much the best place in Branson if you have small kids. We got in free with our National Parks pass. Nice walk in beach to lake that was generally calm. Water was much warmer than expected. Full disclosure - I didn't use he bathrooms. There were several picnic tables and if you want one you should probably arrive early. A little shade but not much. Bringing pop-iOS or other shelters is ok. No lifeguards. Also, no rules. You could have any type of floatie or raft you wanted. On the downside, people smoked on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed it with our 2 and 5 year olds.

I love going to the beach. And to discover this place in Branson made took the trip to the next level

Moonshine Beach is a beautiful place that we just kind of wanted up on. While planning our trip to Branson I wanted to make sure that we were able to go to the lake and have some fun in the sun in the water and all that good stuff. And to discover that they had a place called moonshine beach park and you actually had sand and he actually had water and you could do whatever you wanted Cook-Out they have a a Brazilian that you could rent out if you wanted to grill or whatever the case maybe but you could also just bring your grill and Cook Out. We had about 17 people we brought two tens couple umbrellas and we just got there in a plenty of time because you have to get there early at least some of the park opens because we got there probably about 9:30 and there was already several people out there. So get there right when the park open so you can get a space because it will fill up rather quickly by noon people started in crouch on our space. They do have free life jackets for the kids to wear, but there's also a lot of people bringing those huge humongous floaties in that eventually takes. The beach is nice and clean for it to be a public beach 2 bathrooms were clean and smell good. You got to pay $5 for an entry fee so if it's several of you guys is just best to carpool, and take your ice chest your towels and then just enjoy the day.

    You've been warned

Nice beach. Playground gets too hot to enjoy and gets crowded fast at the beach. Would also be nice to have some snack/drink place close by.

I'm on the fence here. It's a great place to take kids. Dirty bathrooms, and government employees.

We arrived but it was closed due to high waters. The beach was under water and there was no sand.

I was half-expecting to see a bear with a banjo or a raccoon running a moonshine still. Instead, we got about 140 acres of surprisingly legit wilderness... with signs. Lots of signs. Branson knows how to label a rock. The trail started off innocent enough--wood chips, some chirping birds, a suspicious squirrel staring us down. Then came the stairs. Not like "oh look, a couple of steps," but 315 stone steps carved into the side of a bluff like Mother Nature was training for a StairMaster commercial. Whoever built these things must have been part mountain goat, part lunatic. Down we went, each step echoing with the soundtrack of my thighs weeping. Somewhere between Step 89 and existential crisis, we passed a little cave where I'm 83% sure a wizard lives. It was cool, literally and metaphorically. We didn't go in though--look, we respect magical real estate. At the bottom was a view of Lake Taneycomo so pretty it made me forgive the stair situation. There were trees, chirping birds, and a breeze that whispered, "Hey, good luck going back up." We lingered at a little waterfall trickle (emphasis on trickle--it hadn't rained much) and contemplated faking an injury to avoid the climb. Eventually, we powered back up, legs shaking, pride shattered, but hearts full. Or maybe that was just dehydration. Back at the top, we found a porch swing near the ruins of an old homestead, which felt like a reward from the hiking gods. If you ever wanted to swing gently while staring into the distance and pretending you're in a Nicholas Sparks movie, this is your spot. All in all, 5 stars would hike again. Just next time, I'm bringing hiking poles.

This is a beautiful hidden gem right in the heart of Branson. I found it here on Yelp and my friend…read moreand I decided to stop by and walk during one day we were in the area. It was fall and there were lots of leaves on the ground, but we could still make out the trails which was nice. The main, short trail is very wide so many people can walk it at the same time. The longer trails were more narrow. I only walked a short portion of one and realized I was probably not experienced enough for it lol - it was very steep and twisty. I liked that there are options for all fitness levels and every trail seemed to have nice views. They also have nice clean restrooms, picnic areas and a kids play area in the front. Great place to stop for a break while on the strip - and its FREE.

Feeling a bit hesitant at first to do it on bike but it was the best feeling. It was a perfect 68, clear skies and lilac blooms along the way. The perfection was almost overwhelming. A tram is also available for a round trip adventure but the bike was just too fun to pass up. Along the way we saw all kinds of little critters, snakes, fish and birds. Stopped at the tree house, chapel and most of the waterfalls. On bike with all the stops about 2 hours, walking could easily be 3+. Bikes are $15 each and I highly recommend getting there early so you have your pick cause the good ones go fast. Some have baskets and you should get one of those and then fill it with a picnic lunch. Little under $20 per person for entry, with discounts for veterans, seniors and children. Large parking but the place is popular, so again if possible arrive early.

Didn't love the restaurant, but literally everything else was amazing.
