GRP features two lighted baseball fields, picnic facilities, restrooms, lighted tennis/pickleball courts, children's playground, a community room, museum and observatory and measures approximately 18 acres. Quite huge park, but you wouldn't know it from first glance. Very clean and well kept. Two parking lots are available. East side of the park on Orange Ave is where you'll find the picnic shelters, larger playground, community room, historical museum, basketball courts and observatory. West side of the park on Alhambra Ave is closer to the smaller playground and larger baseball diamond. As for the 1 full tennis and 1 full tennis + 4 pickleball shared courts, they are located on Orange Ave near the intersection of Orange Ave and Metro Dr. If you're coming from the north on Orange Ave, drive past the entrance of the park and go up the hill just a bit. The courts will be on your right. Very small parking lot in front of the courts. Street parking is also available. Lighted courts are first come first serve. For pickleball, permanent lines are available, but you'll have to bring your own net (BYON). If you plan to bring food/drinks, be careful of ants. They will find them LOL. Our work group had so much fun. We met some new pickleballer friends as well. Definitely a great place to play some amazing pickleball. Thank you GRP!

They even have an old Lion water fountain (not working). 4/5 Parking Limited spots can cause you to search for spots on the street. Especially when there is a birthday party near the playground. We fpund the last spot. 3/5 Bathrooms Old and need updating. Makes you feel like you are in prison with the steel toilets. 5/5 Likelihood to Return I think we will add this to the park rotation when we are in the area. The day I paid a visit it had just rained a bit in the afternoon then cleared out for the rest of the evening. Up above this hillcrest on any given day I suspect would be ideal for watching the sunset or perhaps flying a kite. There was a consistent light breeze which felt refreshing, free from the congested traffic down below. Among the offerings include a baseball field, a modern jungle gym, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Specifically, tennis takes priority over pickleball. Further up the hill there's a small Japanese garden with a gazebo which while a bit worn out has a lot of charm. Street parking was plentiful and it never got really crowded. One thing I noticed was that my mobile network became somewhat spotty, but 'tis a minor inconvenience. If I'm free, I'd love to visit more often.

While there's plenty of street parking, free lot parking is available right as you enter on Hellman with additional spots up the hill. Among the available physical activities include swimming, tennis, basketball, and ping pong. Local soccer and cheer teams can also be seen on the lawns conditioning for their upcoming season. That said, you may find taking a leisurely stroll or lying down on the grass just as rewarding. A handful of canopies make for great BBQ/picnic spots, and the hilly portions of the park tend to provide a cool and gentle breeze. For me, it's a fine spot to slow down and watch the sunset. As night falls, the lamps come on along the walkway and provide a touch of class.

Not only are there basketball and tennis courts but there is also a small pond with ducks, as well as a huge track to get your steps in! The park is so clean with plenty of areas to chill, as well as grills and benches to hang out and BBQ! I came here most recently for Independence Day to watch the fireworks show at 9pm. I really appreciate them implementing security checks prior to entering the show since last year! It was very crowded but there was plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful fireworks! The show lasted around 15 minutes and the fireworks were so big and pretty! Really enjoy how there were food stands and entertainment prior to the firework show as well!

My family enjoys the picnic tables here. Recently we reserved several tables by the lake which under covering or pavilion. It's $165 for residents and we had it from 10AM to 4PM. We had a 6 year old birthday party with about 15 families in attendance. It was great! The kids LOVED the ducks, turtles, and play ground. It was nice to have tables and shade. Plenty of trash cans to throw away our trash. And plenty of parking for everyone. We all enjoyed it!

There are also temporary pickleball courts set up during certain hours of every day. Since these courts are not permanent, they are not great. The portable nets are flimsy and the area is way too cramped for the amount of people that visit. My main complaint with this park is that it is often pretty dirty. Although there are plenty of trash cans all over the park, I still always see litter scattered throughout the park floor, making it not an ideal place to walk my dogs. In addition, the park is super muddy whenever it rains. The park tends to get super busy on weekends, with all sorts of people coming to exercise, have parties, attend kids' sports games, or for events. Parking spots may completely fill up on weekends, while there will be plenty of open spots on weekdays.

Park Offerings: 1) Playgrounds for the kids 2) Baseball field 3) Indoor basketball/Volleyball courts in their gymnasium. For pickleball, there's specific times to play Monday through Sunday: 5pm to 930pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 8am to 1pm (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Just have to be mindful of the hours that they have it. The city sets up the nets for everyone to use. They're not permanent courts. 5) Splash Zone/Swimming Pool. You'll have to be mindful of the times and rates. 6) Dog Park: Located next to the tennis courts. 7) Picnic Tables/Gazebo 8) Fitness Zones: You'll see some manual outdoor exercise machines 9) Restrooms: They're nice. Location/Parking: Located on Emerson between San Gabriel and Del Mar.. Parking can be found on the street or in their parking lot. Ambiance/Decor: Go outside and touch grass for a bit. We totally didn't stop by here for a raid ;) Parking: The park has a directional parking lot with the entrance starting near the tennis courts. The exit will take you by the Hugo Reid Primary School. There's plenty of parking but be aware of the sign that cautions against the Foul Ball area closer to the baseball field. If you want to be closer to the play area, there's street parking available that can be accessed from De Anza Pl; just be kind to the residents living nearby. Environment: This place has plenty of amenities. There are 3 tennis courts as well as a baseball field, batting cages (indoor and out), and a play area. The play area is closer to the Primary school and even has handball courts. Occasionally, you might spot some peafowl here too. The parking lot puts you in close proximity to the tennis courts, batting cages, and the baseball field. According to the sign, you'll need to get a permit to use the baseball field. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. This park is pretty nice. It's well maintained and has lots to keep you entertained. The grass area is huge and you can easily take a nice walk around; too bad there isn't a walking path.
