As I was searching up info on Crystal Caves for a similarly named national park, I happened upon…read morethis one. The day I paid a visit it had just rained a bit in the afternoon then cleared out for the rest of the evening. Up above this hillcrest on any given day I suspect would be ideal for watching the sunset or perhaps flying a kite. There was a consistent light breeze which felt refreshing, free from the congested traffic down below. Among the offerings include a baseball field, a modern jungle gym, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Specifically, tennis takes priority over pickleball. Further up the hill there's a small Japanese garden with a gazebo which while a bit worn out has a lot of charm. Street parking was plentiful and it never got really crowded. One thing I noticed was that my mobile network became somewhat spotty, but 'tis a minor inconvenience. If I'm free, I'd love to visit more often.

Date: March 3, 2025…read more Stumbled upon this super cute park while attending a Yelp event close by! It was nothing like I pictured because all the photos are from years ago! It's newly remodeled into a castle themed playground with wood chips instead of sand. They have three different picnic tables right above, two smaller ones and one big main one. Restrooms are right at the end of the playground and was fairly clean. Love that there is a HUGE grass space and overall very clean area. They have additional picnic tables as well by the beginning of the playground. Parking wise - the address leads you to the top parking (1/3) but the playground is actually at the bottom (smaller lot). The kiddos really enjoyed this park and love that it's gated. Perfectly sized with a restroom right there is so convenient, especially for a mom of multiples out by herself. So glad to have found this park!!

Big beautiful park with lots to do and plenty of parking…read more There's basketball courts, running track, exercise stations, tennis courts, softball field, tons of space, a l lake with ducks and turtles and more. My family enjoys the picnic tables here. Recently we reserved several tables by the lake which under covering or pavilion. It's $165 for residents and we had it from 10AM to 4PM. We had a 6 year old birthday party with about 15 families in attendance. It was great! The kids LOVED the ducks, turtles, and play ground. It was nice to have tables and shade. Plenty of trash cans to throw away our trash. And plenty of parking for everyone. We all enjoyed it!

Park Offerings: 1) Playgrounds for the kids 2) Baseball field 3) Indoor basketball/Volleyball courts in their gymnasium. Just have to find out when it's open gym for those relative sports. 4) Tennis courts and Pickleball courts. For pickleball, there's specific times to play Monday through Sunday: 5pm to 930pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 8am to 1pm (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Just have to be mindful of the hours that they have it. The city sets up the nets for everyone to use. They're not permanent courts. 5) Splash Zone/Swimming Pool. You'll have to be mindful of the times and rates. 6) Dog Park: Located next to the tennis courts. 7) Picnic Tables/Gazebo 8) Fitness Zones: You'll see some manual outdoor exercise machines 9) Restrooms: They're nice. Location/Parking: Located on Emerson between San Gabriel and Del Mar.. Parking can be found on the street or in their parking lot. Ambiance/Decor: Go outside and touch grass for a bit. We totally didn't stop by here for a raid ;) Parking: The park has a directional parking lot with the entrance starting near the tennis courts. The exit will take you by the Hugo Reid Primary School. There's plenty of parking but be aware of the sign that cautions against the Foul Ball area closer to the baseball field. If you want to be closer to the play area, there's street parking available that can be accessed from De Anza Pl; just be kind to the residents living nearby. Environment: This place has plenty of amenities. There are 3 tennis courts as well as a baseball field, batting cages (indoor and out), and a play area. The play area is closer to the Primary school and even has handball courts. Occasionally, you might spot some peafowl here too. The parking lot puts you in close proximity to the tennis courts, batting cages, and the baseball field. According to the sign, you'll need to get a permit to use the baseball field. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. This park is pretty nice. It's well maintained and has lots to keep you entertained. The grass area is huge and you can easily take a nice walk around; too bad there isn't a walking path.
