One butcher proceeded to make an entire order of Milanese from scratch. And from scratch I mean he butchered a chicken, filleted the breast and breaded it. As he handed me the fresh Milanese he said it was also his daughter's favorite meal so he had to make sure my daughter had her favorite dinner. Old school values in a modern butcher. My daughter still tells this story to her friends.

Meat is carefully selected and it is also the chosen butcher for a lot of the well off in Fulham and neighbouring Chelsea. You know a good butcher by the queues that form outside at the week-end and this one has such a queue. Not cheap but if you are looking for friendly service and quality meat this is one the best around. Good selection of pickles and chutneys and olive oil etc and they also supply game.

I only went in for some ribs and ended up getting completely carried away :) Their selection is awesome. I ended up buying steak and wild boar burgers, chicken breast, lamb ribs, Radlett sausages, spicy chicken wings and free range eggs! Okay, it is not as cheap as some of the bigger shops, but then you most definitely get what you pay for. The chicken breasts are delicious and I only needed 2 as they were rather sizeable! The lad behind the counter, was helpful, smiling and charming and nothing wass too much effort for him. I love the fact that they support the local community and the farming and there is a lot of local produce here to chose from. They also do a selection of glazed produce, hot & spicy, BBQ, herbed and so on, so you can be lazy and get it straight from them all done, no faff and straight in the oven or on the BBQ. I will 100% be back here. The quality is outstanding, fantastic selection and great service. I am a mega fan of this place.

Dennis of Bexley is an award winning butchers and deli, that USED to be in the village and then it moved to Bexley Park where all the new town houses are. The prices definitely reflect the area. The roast beef baguette could've have a little more horseradish on, and the baked pastries-bacon and cheese/lamb samosa could've had a a bit more cheese and a bit more spice respectively. The hot steak and cheese baguette is just value for money, if you're going to go, i highly recommend that! We spent the lunch hour in the rather posh seating area enjoying our sandwiches. If only the sandwiches had a bit more finesse, a little bit more extra care in making them. It would be perfect. I'll definitely be back because it's so close to home and because it's such a cute little place. Clientele, from builders to soccer mums to office people. The amount of land rovers driving in and out to get lunch from this place was surprising. The cut is just so beautiful. The prices are expensive though. This is like a holiday meat place. Go here for your Christmas turkey or your Easter sirloin steak. They don't really discount, so maybe you can buy one slab of meat a week from here for Sunday dinner. If you do want to sample some of their meat but you're on a budget, usually during warm weather periods they smoke/roast a pig on the road outside of their shop and make pork sandwiches on the weekend. The pig smells delightful as you're walking up the street. When you see it on the skewer rotating around it looks kind of sad because usually the head is still on it, but it still smells so good. The sandwiches are amazing and they're only £3. So sorry for the little oinker that's on the barby, but so happy for my tummy.

They have award-winning sausages made on site, and also cure their own bacon, and make up their own beef burgers. There's a variety of stuffed or marinated meat, good for the bbq in the summer or for roasting in the winter. They make sausage rolls and pasties, and it's pretty hard to resist when you walk by and smell that baking! They were happy to give me bones for a dog for no charge. Anything you want, they'll get in for you. There's a small selection of produce and chutneys, and some meat bagged up for the freezer. Oh, and there's cheese and ham, too. I may just start sleeping on the floor. And if you go in and say what you're making, they'll give you the right cut of meat and the right size, and then tell you how long to cook it. I think one of these days, they'll just follow me home and cook it up for me. The downside? It's expensive. But you're paying for quality and expertise, which you just don't get at a supermarket. They're open seven days a week, too.

But that didn't mean I had to wait, as he called his colleague out from the back who was happy to assist. I was very pleased with both the service and the quality of the steaks I purchased. I'm a semi-regular here, although I tend to shop here more in the summer when buying for barbecues etc as they have a good range. They also make their own sausages - the pinner porker is great, and they even make pies, pasties and scotch eggs.

Usually I only have £5 measley pounds to spend but still get a jolly smile. Everything is cheap and cheerful, you won't find lamb shanks, organic anything or quails, but you will get good sausages, huge carcasses of brisket which they joyfully chop up for you, chickens hung with heads and claws still on, big slabs of beef and good old mutton (which I belive is making a comeback... ) They sell big bags of chicken breasts and legs, and you can get a whole duck for £3.99!
